You’d have to assume any meeting of House Democrats to discuss political messaging these days would be tense, considering that the leader of the party just laid a rotten egg at the presidential debate last Thursday. As Biden sees his odds of winning reelection plummet, party leaders have been freaking out, with some even calling for the president to leave the race. It’s no surprise, then, that a Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) meeting reportedly devolved into a grievance fest Tuesday, with panicked members openly criticizing the president and his strategy (or lack thereof). There were even reportedly mentions of the “donkey in the room”

On July 1, 2024, the Supreme Court issued a landmark decision affirming that presidents have immunity for official acts carried out during their tenure, extending the precedent set in Nixon v. Fitzgerald. This ruling not only solidifies immunity for clearly defined official acts, but also provides presumptive immunity for actions that may be questionably official. Although presidential immunity was previously established in civil contexts, this decision marks a significant extension to criminal prosecution for official acts. The Context and Implications The necessity of this ruling becomes evident when considering the current politically charged environment in the United States.

For years, there's been an insistence that Biden, despite his very public bouts of senility, is an absolute workhorse behind closed doors. White House coffee boy Andrew Bates recently reinforced that narrative, claiming that the president has such high stamina that it leaves his staffers unable to keep up. The problem with that claim is that it's such obvious nonsense. Biden is clearly sundowning, and if this quote from Politico is true, it sure seems like the cause is dementia.

But that's especially true of the corrupt media that chose to cover for Biden rather than report on him. That includes Carl Bernstein, the journalistic eminence grise of Watergate, who appeared on CNN last night to discuss the scope and breadth of the cover-up. Bernstein talks about the willful gaslighting of the team around Biden and the media's amplification of gaslighting

Do not let it go unnoticed that foreign leaders are watching the USA President give a national address shouting about a need to “save democracy” while simultaneously trying to jail his political opposition. These are not just odd hypocrisies that make good fodder to intellectually beat leftists in western social media battles; these are actual realities with real world consequences for billions of people living in it. Decrying the lack of constraints on executive power while expecting us to forget how the same executive office holder mandated gene therapy for all workers under threat of government punishment, seems a little odd. CNN host Jake Tapper accused Democratic officials of using Orwellian tactics to spin President Biden’s debate performance. Tapper co-moderated last week's presidential debate, which was widely seen as a disastrous night for Biden. Many Democrats and liberals in the media have called for the president to step down and be replaced with another nominee. As for the Democrats still defending Biden, Tapper argued they are disingenuously downplaying or ignoring signs of the president's age-related decline.

The melodrama surrounding efforts to get Freeze Frame Joe to quit his re-election campaign is the media’s way of coping with the way the Acme Presidential Debate turned out. The wily coyotes at CNN and in the Democrat Party wrote the debate rules in a manner designed to keep Trump from dominating. This focused attention on Pedo Joe, who turned out to be an open-mouth ghost. Once again, instead of catching Trump, they blew their own candidate up. Meep, meep. The pressure is so high that Dark Brandon turned orange for his reading off the teleprompter on live TV last night

Politico reported the sour feelings within Harris’s camp as Govs. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) have been at the forefront of media speculation as to who could potentially replace Biden at the top of the ticket if Biden were actually to step aside.

In his remarks following the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity, President Joe Biden pretended to be mortified by it. But there’s a reason Biden seemed so energetic and focused Monday night. The Court might just have done him and his reelection campaign a huge favor. At least, Biden thinks so. In his very brief remarks, Biden called the ruling a “dangerous precedent.” He said it “continues to the Court’s attack on a wide range of long-established legal principles.” He quoted Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s inflammatory opinion which said “With fear for our democracy, I dissent.” I concur, Biden said.

According to White House aides, President Joe Biden only has a six-hour window of optimal functionality. From 10 am to 4 pm, that’s peak mental activity time for the president. After that, things go downhill fast, so I was shocked that Biden would deliver remarks at 7:45 pm tonight on the Supreme Court ruling on the immunity case.Biden threw a tantrum, visibly frustrated that the Supreme Court stopped his politically motivated legal crusade against his political rival. It was one of the most pathetic attempts at deflection in recent memory. We all still think you’re too old and slow, Joe.

The Republicans remain the captives of the personality cult—the “MAGA movement”—that has formed around Trump, just as the Democrats were the captives of the personality cult and populist movement that formed around William Jennings Bryan between 1896 and 1908. They therefore run a considerable risk of losing this election, which they ought to be comfortably winning on the big issues of inflation and immigration, because their candidate is too off-putting to too many of the crucial voters.

According to several sources who have talked to Politico, the Biden family are naming top Biden advisor Anita Dunn, her CIA husband Bob Bauer and top advisor Ron Klain for horrible debate preparation. The three senior staff advisors have been a part of the Biden/Obama orbit for many years. Jill Biden and the rest of the family are pointing the finger directly at them.

The Palestinian Authority and other Arab governments have been reminded in recent days of the reasons why entering the Gaza Strip after the war would be risky, if not impossible... According to reports from the Gaza Strip, Hamas has murdered a number of Palestinians who it believed had indicated willingness to be part of a new government that would replace the terrorist group after the war. Hamas, apparently, does not want food or medication to reach the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, particularly not via Israeli border crossings. This situation is most likely caused by Hamas's desire to create a "famine" so it can blame Israel

President Biden revealed himself as senile Thursday night — so now the Dem apparatchiks are busy circling the wagons. “The reality is the race has not fundamentally changed,” spun former Biden flack Kate Bedingfield. In what Mediaite termed “a 15-minute Biden campaign commercial,” Morning Joe’s Mika Brzezinski called him “a man slowed down by a cold,” while hint-asking: “Does there need to be changes” in “managing him?” “Changes to his schedule, changes even maybe to those around him?” (Photo) This was just days after hubby Joe Scarborough demanded on the same show that Biden stand aside. On Monday morning, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision of Trump v. United States that the office of the United States presidency has immunity from criminal prosecution. Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote the dissent, which Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson also signed onto. It's a dissent that has plenty of people talking over social media, with a common theme of the reaction being "bats**t" to describe her ranting and raving. "With fear for our democracy, I dissent," she wrote in what sounds like a line the Biden reelection will almost certainly take advantage of. She also began her dissent in part by writing

President Joe Biden used a Monday night White House press conference to attempt to reframe the November general election around Donald Trump’s alleged actions on January 6, 2021. Biden’s speech came in response to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of former President Donald Trump on Monday, holding in a 6-3 decision that presidents are covered by limited immunity from criminal prosecutions for actions taken while in office. The ruling is a significant blow to the Biden Department of Justice’s prosecutions against Biden’s political opponent — which Trump and his allies have characterized as politically motivated lawfare.

Today the NY Times is trying to creep back toward reality with a new newsletter piece headlined "The Problem in Plain Sight."
