Yes, the Supreme Court got it right

On July 1, 2024, the Supreme Court issued a landmark decision affirming that presidents have immunity for official acts carried out during their tenure, extending the precedent set in Nixon v. Fitzgerald. This ruling not only solidifies immunity for clearly defined official acts, but also provides presumptive immunity for actions that may be questionably official. Although presidential immunity was previously established in civil contexts, this decision marks a significant extension to criminal prosecution for official acts. The Context and Implications The necessity of this ruling becomes evident when considering the current politically charged environment in the United States.

and lest we forget one thing: if it weren't for President Donald J. Trump no telling what kind of radical, commie Justices we'd have on the bench at the Supreme Court and as a reminder, Merrick Garland was a Supreme Court Justice nominee until our President sent him off to Never, Never Land only to be brought back to life with the stolen election of 2020 and the re-rise of the comrade and his radical, marxist/leninist apparatchiks plus the dumbest, SOB in the country assuming the position at the White House

The six justices got it right and Sotomayor has totally blown her cover, proven unquestionably that she's a third rate clown of a lawyer, totally out of her league, only on SCOTUS by affirmative action.

"Historically, a degree of civility and decency in the judicial system made such explicit rulings unnecessary." It's a tragedy that Leftists have forced us to have to specify the obvious. The President of the United States cannot be subject to the gadflies of Leftist states. Someone elected by the nation as a whole cannot be assaulted by the sore losers of a state and their warped sense of law that they make up on the fly.

I'm curious. How much of FJB's illegal activities (10% for the big guy, secret docs. in the garage, etc.) are protected by this ruling? Most occurred before he was pResident.

Re #5, the ones that occurred when he was NOT in any official office CANNOT be any kind of "official acts" so are clearly subjected to ordinary corruption prosecution. That which occurred during actual terms of elected offices, VP and Pres, may possibly still be 'not official acts' and therefore possibly subjected to prosecution. Frankly, that is much more fraught, best to stick to times when he was out of office. HOWEVER, I am very sad to point out that Joe is likely going to be never charged with anything whatsoever. His sad, rapidly deteriorating mental condition is likely to provide a sort of immunity to prosecution. People feel sorry for folks in dementia, and aren't very likely to actually do anything against him. A bit like the interview on the classified docs where the IG concluded "Joe is an elderly man with a poor memory" and we didn't hold him to account because of it. Joe is probably going to entirely skate from any actual legal consequences, I am VERY, VERY sorry to say.

I understand and agree with the sentiments of those who long to see Joe tried for bribery. Unfortunately, the federal district court in which such a trial would be conducted is the one in Washington, D.C. There's no way you can get a jury from DC that would find a high-ranking dem guilty of anything. That's why Hillary laughed at those who suggested she should stand trial for initiating the Russian collusion hoax.

Democrat governors issued messages of support for President Joe Biden amid mounting concerns of Biden remaining the party’s presidential nominee after his debate performance. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) were among the governors who issued messages of support for Biden after having a call both virtually and in person with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Other Democrat governors who had been on the call were Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD), Gov. Maura Healey (D-MA), Gov. Ned Lamont (D-CT), and Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ). Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser was also on the call, according to Deadline. “I have three words from the President tonight — he’s all in,”

During last week’s presidential debate, Trump revealed that he had called the Angel Family that day to offer his condolences following Jocelyn’s murder. Angel Mom Alexis Nungaray said she was “shocked” when she got the call from the former president. In an interview with FOX26 Houston, Alvarenga expressed his gratitude to Trump for acknowledging the pain and suffering

The results of a new poll by the New York Times and Siena College were published Wednesday afternoon. It's good news for former President Trump. Not so much for President Biden. Concerns over Biden's ability to govern rose to new heights. Mr. Trump now leads Mr. Biden 49 percent to 43 percent among likely voters nationally, a three-point swing toward the Republican from just a week earlier, before the debate. It is the largest lead Mr. Trump has recorded in a Times/Siena poll since 2015. Mr. Trump leads by even more among registered voters, 49 percent to 41 percent. Doubts about Mr. Biden’s age and acuity are widespread and growing.

It's on! The Trump campaign has been uncharacteristically quiet since last week's presidential debate, in which Joe Biden came off with all of the intelligence, acumen, wit, and knowledge of a potted fern. Watching old Joe last week (and since) has been like watching a long row of dumpster fires being hit by a series of runaway train wrecks. On Wednesday, Team Trump released a statement (written by campaign staffers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles) regarding Biden's (lack of) cognitive ability and the Democratic Party's malfeasance in keeping it as under wraps as they could. I wasn’t surprised to see how badly President Joe Biden performed last week in his first debate showdown with former President Donald Trump. The warning signs have been apparent for a long time, despite outright lies and denial from the White House and Biden advisers who’ve had the audacity to tell us that the president, 81, is A-OK. But a lot of Americans probably haven’t paid as close of attention, and many of them were honestly surprised by the president’s physical and mental state. I hope they’re paying attention now. And the latest polls make it seem like they are. I'll get to that in a bit.

Former President Trump expanded his lead over President Biden to 6 points in a new poll of the presidential race from The Wall Street Journal published Wednesday amid the ongoing fallout from their debate last week. Trump garnered 48 percent support in the poll to Biden’s 42 percent in a head-to-head match-up. That’s an increase from an identical poll in February, which found Trump with a 2-point lead. Trump’s 48 percent vote share is the highest mark of either candidate at any point in the 2024 race, according to the Journal.

EXCLUSIVE – Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed a lawsuit against the state of New York, alleging it violated Missourians’ First Amendment right to hear from former President Trump during the 2024 presidential election. Bailey’s lawsuit alleges New York’s "illicit prosecution, gag order, and sentencing" of Trump has undermined his ability to campaign for president, sabotaging Missourians’ ability to hear from him and cast a fully informed vote for a presidential candidate mere months before the election. Right now the Democrats are in a panic about Joe Biden and whether they should make him step aside. Unfortunately, whatever they do, he's still occupying the office and that's a dangerous thing. Democrats are responsible for putting us all in this situation, along with the media that refused to be honest about Biden's condition. One of the reasons they are freaking out so much is how brutal the internal polling is. The post-debate public polls have been bad, but this is even worse, with him sliding not only in every battleground state but states that aren't even supposed to be battlegrounds now going toward former President Donald Trump.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is continuing her quest to raise taxes. She is now trying to convince the moderate Democrats and those who are against tax hikes to pass the progressives' tax hikes. For years, we have heard Democrat politicians criticize corporations that employ millions of people for not paying higher taxes. That may sound like a great idea — if it were realistic. Corporations will never pay their "fair share" in taxes. If Congress ultimately decides to raise the corporate tax, that will be a tax on the consumers because those corporations will raise prices to cover their costs and offset what they would be paying in taxes.

WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris is “the future of the Democratic Party,” the White House declared Wednesday as leading Democrats and their allies position themselves to replace President Biden as the party’s nominee if the 81-year-old president steps aside. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre pronounced Harris as Biden’s political heir, at one point referring to her as “president,” when asked about his 2020 campaign remark that he would be a “transitional” candidate. “One of the reasons why he picked the vice president, President [sic] Kamala Harris, is because she is indeed the future of the party,” Jean-Pierre said at her regular briefing.

The Camp David gathering ended with Joe being urged by his arguably psychopathic family to remain in the race: Jill wants to cling to power like Lady Macbeth. I have never been a fan of Kamala Harris. I was an outspoken critic of her candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, earning the ire both of her then spokesperson and also the notorious “KHive” of terminally online Harris fans. Nor did I shed any tears when her campaign turned out to be a disaster and she ended up withdrawing from the race before a single vote had been cast in the primaries. So it is with some surprise, reluctance and even trepidation that I am now writing these words: Joe Biden should stand aside and endorse Kamala Harris as the 2024 Democratic presidential nominee.
