Justice Department officials will continue to pursue the federal criminal cases against Donald Trump past Election Day, even if he wins, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.
The plan is due to a view that DOJ rules against charging or prosecuting a sitting president would not kick in until Inauguration Day in January, people familiar with the discussions told The Post. (snip) Officials who were not part of the special counsel’s deliberations told CNN they believed the long-standing DOJ policy against criminally charging a sitting president does not extend to a president-elect.

As expected. Just as Diaper Joe ignores the Supreme Joke, so too does Diaper Joe's Dept of Just-Us. Of course the the Dept of Just-Us ignores the Court's ruling that presidents can't be charged with crimes for official acts even after they leave office. Gotta admire how Democrats wipe their behinds with the Constitution and just do whatever the Hades they want to do. Of course, there is no consequences for the Dept of Just-Us so what's to stop them?

What else can they try? It seems like their toolbox is about empty, except for the Sotomayor Seal Team 6 solution.

Dream on you fools, but try while you can before the whole lot of you is fired. It’s idiotic to continue persecuting at president, especially one who may win in a landslide.

Two things:
1. This action should incent the House Republicans to arrest and jail Garland over his contempt of Congress charge. Give him a taste of his own medicine.
2. Once Trump is sworn in, Garland will be fired. The new AG can then fire any idiot in the DOJ who doesn't follow orders or is too stupid to realize that Garland is gone.

This is a CNN story. Hopefully it’s not one of the few each year that might be accurate.

They are talking about the period between Nov 5 and Jan 20.The part that the SCOTUS has kicked back to the Federal court in DC could theoretically continue .If Trump wins massively then the purpose of such action will be useless and the optics disastrous. This is another form of gaslighting.

The left is in the full throws of a psychotic break. They remind me of Ash in the movie Alien when he starts flailing around the room after he’s been mortally wounded.

It's hard to decide whether the TDS-crippled members of the injustice department are pathological or just pathetic.
Or whether the news that we're getting about them is even accurate stuff, any more. This era of competing news narratives has a way of turning my desire for truth into doubt and despair.

This is very easily resolved. President Trump announces his selection for Attorney General the same day he announces his VP. The AG selection takes the podium and announces that at 12:01 PM January 20, 2025 that Merrick Garland will be arrested for Contempt of Congress and thrown in Guantanamo Bay. Problem solved.

On day one, Trump should pardon every single J6er (excepting the ANTIFA plants), all the abortion protest people who were just praying, all the people caught up in the various Jack Smith witch hunts (including himself), just to get that undone.
Then fire all those who prosecuted them. Or, if not possible, re-assign them to Ice Station Zebra in Greenland.
Same with all the DEI people.
Shut down the DOEducation.
Reaffirm the student loans that were "forgiven".
Re-establish border protections and allow states to enforce border laws and arrest illegals. Stop all the lawsuits against such state laws with consent decrees saying they are enforceable.
All on the day he takes office. Have it all pre-written.

And if Trump seeks retribution for it, the DOJ should shut up and go to prison.

Some of those DOJ lawyers get on one case and it lasts up to 7 years. A few of those and you're eligible for retirement. The "Trump Trials" are designed to bankrupt him and prevent him from being a political influence going for another generation.
Still waiting for the DOJ go go after the cash cow Clinton Foundation and Hillary specifically over her serial destruction of evidence, but I'm not holding my breath.
