Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) were among the governors who issued messages of support for Biden after having a call both virtually and in person with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Other Democrat governors who had been on the call were Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD), Gov. Maura Healey (D-MA), Gov. Ned Lamont (D-CT), and Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ). Washington, D.C. Kelvin Alvarenga, the grandfather to 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray who was sexually assaulted and murdered allegedly at the hands of two illegal aliens from Venezuela, says, “God bless” former President Donald Trump for reaching out to the family following the tragedy.
During last week’s presidential debate, Trump revealed that he had called the Angel Family that day to offer his condolences following Jocelyn’s murder. Angel Mom Alexis Nungaray said she was “shocked” when she got the call from the former president. In an interview with FOX26 Houston, Alvarenga expressed his gratitude to Trump for acknowledging the pain and suffering

None of this post-debate mess is a surprise to anyone with half a brain, functioning eyeballs, or any media member with a marginally functioning sense of integrity...I KID, I KID about that last one.
Because there doesn't seem to be any such creature. I have even seen people whose brains have been completely fried by the severest cases of TDS wince at the mutterings and wanderings of POTATUS, admitting through their discomfiture that the guy ain't all there, and hasn't been from the beginning.
But our media - woof. Now, we get to go through the kabuki theater of collective surprise by the very people who brought us

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris joined a Democratic National Committee call on Wednesday and pledged that he would stay in the race.
“Let me say this as clearly as I possibly can, as simply and straightforward as I can: I am running . . . no one’s pushing me out,” Biden told staffers, according to Politico. “I’m not leaving. I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win.”
Biden’s declaration that he will not leave the Democratic ticket comes as his campaign is scrambling to retain support among lawmakers in his party. While Representative Lloyd Doggett (D., Texas) is the only elected Democrat to call

The results of a new poll by the New York Times and Siena College were published Wednesday afternoon.
It's good news for former President Trump. Not so much for President Biden. Concerns over Biden's ability to govern rose to new heights.
Mr. Trump now leads Mr. Biden 49 percent to 43 percent among likely voters nationally, a three-point swing toward the Republican from just a week earlier, before the debate. It is the largest lead Mr. Trump has recorded in a Times/Siena poll since 2015. Mr. Trump leads by even more among registered voters, 49 percent to 41 percent.
Doubts about Mr. Biden’s age and acuity are widespread and growing.

It's on!
The Trump campaign has been uncharacteristically quiet since last week's presidential debate, in which Joe Biden came off with all of the intelligence, acumen, wit, and knowledge of a potted fern. Watching old Joe last week (and since) has been like watching a long row of dumpster fires being hit by a series of runaway train wrecks.
On Wednesday, Team Trump released a statement (written by campaign staffers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles) regarding Biden's (lack of) cognitive ability and the Democratic Party's malfeasance in keeping it as under wraps as they could.
"Every Democrat who is calling on Crooked Joe Biden to quit was once a supporter

I wasn’t surprised to see how badly President Joe Biden performed last week in his first debate showdown with former President Donald Trump.
The warning signs have been apparent for a long time, despite outright lies and denial from the White House and Biden advisers who’ve had the audacity to tell us that the president, 81, is A-OK.
But a lot of Americans probably haven’t paid as close of attention, and many of them were honestly surprised by the president’s physical and mental state.
I hope they’re paying attention now. And the latest polls make it seem like they are. I'll get to that in a bit.

A U.S. judge on Wednesday blocked the Biden administration from enforcing a new rule against discrimination on the basis of gender identity in healthcare while he hears a lawsuit challenging it by 15 Republican-led states.
The rule was finalized in May, opens new tab by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and was set to take effect on Friday. It states that a federal prohibition on sex discrimination, part of the Affordable Care Act health insurance law, extends to discrimination against transgender people.
States opposing the new rule had said in their lawsuit that it would require their Medicaid programs

Former President Trump expanded his lead over President Biden to 6 points in a new poll of the presidential race from The Wall Street Journal published Wednesday amid the ongoing fallout from their debate last week.
Trump garnered 48 percent support in the poll to Biden’s 42 percent in a head-to-head match-up. That’s an increase from an identical poll in February, which found Trump with a 2-point lead. Trump’s 48 percent vote share is the highest mark of either candidate at any point in the 2024 race, according to the Journal.

EXCLUSIVE – Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed a lawsuit against the state of New York, alleging it violated Missourians’ First Amendment right to hear from former President Trump during the 2024 presidential election.
Bailey’s lawsuit alleges New York’s "illicit prosecution, gag order, and sentencing" of Trump has undermined his ability to campaign for president, sabotaging Missourians’ ability to hear from him and cast a fully informed vote for a presidential candidate mere months before the election.
His lawsuit petitions the Supreme Court to declare that New York’s restrictions on President Trump’s ability to campaign unlawfully interfere with the presidential election, to remove any gag orders

Vice President Kamala Harris is the top alternative to replace President Joe Biden atop the Democrat ticket, seven senior sources from the Biden campaign, the White House, and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) told Reuters Wednesday.
The leak to Reuters represents frustration within the Biden campaign, which is reeling from a poor debate performance and subsequent calls for Biden to drop out of the race.
This is the fourth damning leak against Biden in two days. Previous leaks highlighted information about Biden’s nap schedule during debate prep, fear among staffers to speak to Biden due to anger flashes, and former President Barack Obama’s concern

Right now the Democrats are in a panic about Joe Biden and whether they should make him step aside. Unfortunately, whatever they do, he's still occupying the office and that's a dangerous thing. Democrats are responsible for putting us all in this situation, along with the media that refused to be honest about Biden's condition.
One of the reasons they are freaking out so much is how brutal the internal polling is. The post-debate public polls have been bad, but this is even worse, with him sliding not only in every battleground state but states that aren't even supposed to be battlegrounds now going toward former President Donald Trump.
