The federal judge overseeing former President Trump’s classified documents case granted his request to delay a few deadlines further so prosecutors can evaluate the Supreme Court’s immunity ruling.
Trump’s lawyers on Friday asked Judge Aileen Cannon for permission to file more documents to argue that the former president should be immune from prosecution in the case.
In their motion this week, Trump’s team proposed a schedule that extends through early September, meaning a ruling wouldn’t come until at least the fall.
On Saturday, Cannon, a Trump appointee, said prosecutors and special counsel Jack Smith had until July 18

Texas officials added 81 additional counties to the state’s disaster declaration in preparation for Hurricane Beryl’s arrival. The storm’s forecasted path shifted the expected landfall to the north and east of previous projections. The latest addition to the disaster declaration list brings the total number of Texas counties to 121.
Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is sitting in for Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The governor is traveling in East Asia on an economic development project. Patrick will be at the helm as acting governor when Beryl strikes the Texas coast on Monday. Governor Patrick urged Texans to make final preparations for Hurricane Beryl’s landfall; warning time was winding down

Some grocery stores in Alabama and Oklahoma now have American Rounds vending machines which allow customers to buy ammo for their guns while getting a cart full of groceries for their families.
Cleveland.com reported on the vending machines, noting they are currently in six locations and “[use] artificial intelligence technology to verify a buyer’s identification and age through card scanning and facial recognition software.”
One of the locations is a Fresh Value store in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Terry Stanley, COO of the Fresh Value, said, “We’re always looking for ways to give our customers another reason to come visit our stores. Anything we can do to help them make their shopping trips easier,

Joe Biden’s team provided a list of questions to a radio host who interviewed the president this week in the aftermath of his debate performance, the host told CNN.
“The questions were sent to me for approval. I approved them,” Andrea Lawful-Sanders, host of “The Source” in Philadelphia, said during an interview Saturday with CNN’s Victor Blackwell on “First of All.”
Lawful-Sanders told Blackwell she personally selected questions from the campaign-provided list. “I got several questions, eight of them, and the four that were chosen were the ones that I approved,” she said.

President Joe Biden’s personal doctor met a Parkinson’s disease expert affiliated with the Walter Reed Medical Center earlier this year, White House visitor logs show.
White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor met Parkinson’s expert Dr. Kevin Cannard and two others at the White House in January, according to visitor logs first reported by the New York Post. Cannard is a longtime neurologist at Walter Reed and an expert in movement disorders. Walter Reed cardiologist Dr. John Atwood also attended the January meeting. It’s unclear who the fourth attendee was. Both doctors declined to comment to the Post.

During an interview with ABC News on Friday, President Joe Biden said that he realized he was doing poorly in last week’s presidential debate when he noticed that “even when I was answering a question, even though they turned his mic off,” his opponent, 2024 Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump, “was still shouting. And I let it distract me.” Biden elaborated that he isn’t blaming that for his performance, but that caused him to realize “that I just wasn’t in control.”
ABC host George Stephanopoulos asked, “And how quickly did it come to you that you were having that bad night?”
Biden responded, “Well, it came to me

We got the first clue that something was very wrong when ABC News aired a clip of Joe Biden's interview with George Stephanopoulos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
The partisan Democrat interviewer asked Biden why his debate performance was so bad after six days of rest at Camp David. Biden threw out some prepared talking points: He'd been very sick. He was tested for COVID and "for infections." He clutched his heart when he said the last part. (None of this explained why a very sick Biden was sent to a diner after the debate to gladhand supporters.)

Joe Biden's big interview with George Stephanopoulos is out, and the big question circulating is whether it will be enough to quell the uprising within the Democratic Party.
Since his disastrous debate performance over a week ago, the president has been battling a deluge of leaks about his senility and a growing public campaign to have him leave the 2024 race. Since being helped off the stage in Georgia by his wife, Biden has done a few events, none of which should comfort any of his allies. In short, this interview is supposed to be a big turning point. Was it? What we saw in the pre-released clips didn't

On the surface, it is scandalous that Washington Democrats, and the Democratic press corps, knew for years that Joe Biden could barely function, and yet they covered up his condition until it exploded into public view in last week’s debate. The Democrats didn’t care about Biden’s dementia until public knowledge of it threatened his re-election.
Which raises the question: Don’t the Democrats think it is dangerous for the U.S. not to have a functioning president? Isn’t it unpatriotic to help to perpetuate in office a president long gone in dementia?
The Democrats don’t think so, because they believe it doesn’t really matter who is president, as long as he is a Democrat.

An exhausted president with a bad cold, according to aides. A rushed final 36 hours of preparation at Camp David leading to a disastrous debate. And now, a presidency in crisis.
A week after Joe Biden’s debate performance sent the Democratic Party into panic over his age, health and viability in November’s election, the White House and campaign have offered shifting explanations about concerns in the days leading up to the debate — a damage control effort that’s fallen flat.
Now, people with direct knowledge of his debate prep process are providing a more detailed picture of the days leading up to Biden’s disastrous debate last week, clarifying the roles and responsibilities

The big donor class in the Democrat Party is over President Biden. Unless the party convinces him to leave the presidential race, the party is going to experience a world of hurt.
That is the opinion of a former Biden supporter and Democrat campaign fundraiser, Will Pierce. He is a Daily Caller columnist now. Prominent party donors are shutting their checkbooks until Biden is dropped from the top of the ballot. Pierce predicts a potential election disaster if that doesn't happen.
Fine by me.

Say, didn't the New York Times focus most of its energy on explaining away Joe Biden's stumbles as "cheap fakes" ... until a week ago? As late as June 21, just six days before the presidential debate undeniably exposed Biden's cognitive decline, the Paper of Record told readers not to believe their own lyin' eyes when it came to Biden's stumbles. Those videos were "misleading ... edited or lacking context," the Gray Lady assured them:
President Biden has many adversaries in this year’s election. There are his Republican opponent, former President Donald J. Trump, and the independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
And then there is the distorted, online version of himself,
