Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Thursday issued a pardon for Daniel Perry, an Army sergeant who was convicted of murder for fatally shooting a Black Lives Matter (BLM) protester in 2020. (snip) The proclamation grants Perry a full pardon and “restoration of full civil rights of citizenship.” (snip) Perry was working as an Uber driver and dropped a passenger off in downtown Austin. He was attempting to move his car through a crowd when he said Foster, who was legally armed, aimed his rifle at him. Perry also legally had a gun on him and fired the pistol at Foster because he feared for his life.

Good. Sorry that someone had to FAFO but not sorry that this man defended himself and has been exonerated.

Good job "Hill" tagging a man defending himself with the dishonest smear, "murder". Somebody points a rifle at me in a situation like that, the right to self defense will Trump the "Hill's" penchant for lying through misrepresentation - anyday.

Where do I start? Oh, yeah, the inflammatory headline. The inference that the parole board is bias. “The board, which is appointed by the governor . . . “ Parole boards are generally appointed by governors. The parting shot —- “. . . Perry shared racist content in private messages, including a reference to BLM protesters as animals at a zoo.“ That must be a dog whistle. The Hill is a leftist rag.

Purely self defense, NOT 'murder'. And if some punk at a roadblock points an AK at me, he'll get shot very quickly, too. This was a massive miscarriage of justice that charges were even brought. Someone aims a rifle at you in a violent encounter, you can reasonably expect that he is about to shoot you.

Thank you, Governor Abbott, for righting an atrocious injustice. Not just pointing a rifle - Foster was one scary-looking, crazy-eyed, shaved-head-with-beard dude who was pointing his rifle. The kind that would immediately suggest deadly force may be in order.

The problem is that this happened in Austin, where self defense is apparently illegal because of the Soros hired persecutor. Unreal that there wasn't even ONE juror that thought that a punk pointing a rifle at you is NOT OK.

What was clearly self defense in July 2020 cost this man 4 years of his life. Abbott can be commended for his eventual pardon, but it took way too long to right this wrong.

Problems in this whole situation: 1. Happened in the People's Republic of Austin 2. Gov. Abbot acted in accordance with Texas law which lays out procedures to be followed 3. Austin police were hampered in their ability to deal with BLM riots in the first place 4 Austin's City Council only has one sane member

Kurdish citizens protested across Turkey after a court sentenced Selahattin Demirtas, former co-chair of the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) and two-time presidential candidate, to 42 years in prison. Officials in 20 provinces banned demonstrations, social gatherings, and public events for four days in a bid to tamp down Kurdish outrage. Demirtas, 51, has been in prison since 2016. He managed to place third in Turkey’s 2018 presidential election despite being in jail. Shortly after that election, Turkish courts finally got around to convicting him of links to the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK),

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker’s commencement address at Benedictine College is sparking an insane amount of vitriol from the left because they hate Christianity and want it out of the public domain. Butker spoke out against progressive ideology in its many forms during his 20-minute speech to Catholic students, including the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), the demand from the “cultural elite” for Christians to stay silent and how being Catholic alone is not enough to fight against the “growing support for degenerate culture.”

It was another bad day for the case against Donald Trump after the former president’s legal team absolutely destroyed Michael Cohen. But don’t take my word for it. Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, was so effective at boxing Cohen in on his lies that he left CNN’s Anderson Cooper absolutely stunned. "But the last 20 minutes of court today right before the lunch break, it was incredible,” he admitted. "Elie Honig on my program last night had talked about, on a cross-examination, lawyers want to kind of put the witness in a — build a box around the witness and then slam it shut. COVID-19, which killed 1.1 million Americans and destroyed the lives and livelihoods of millions more, is a manmade virus that escaped from a Chinese lab partly funded by the US government. Even today, you’re not supposed to say that — even though it’s the only plausible scenario. No, “fact checkers” will rush in to claim that eminent scientists deny this. Which is because those scientists have too much invested — in money, in time, in their own beliefs — to admit the truth. But as Congress continues to probe, that truth is coming out, little by little, and the lies are being exposed:
