David DePape, the man who attacked former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband with a hammer in October 2022, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday.
The attack on Paul Pelosi occurred in the Pelosis’ San Francisco home on Oct. 28, 2022, just days before the midterm elections. DePape was found guilty on Nov. 16 for the attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on the immediate family member of a federal official. Prosecutors had pushed for DePape to serve the maximum term of 40 years.
Paul Pelosi suffered a fractured skull and severe damage to his left hand. To this day, he deals with terrible headaches,

Seems excessive considering so many other prosecutions in the state.
Something is still very odd about the whole case since the dude had to get himself there from the Berkeley area, had to know where they lived, their security detail didn't seem to notice him, etc...

Poor Paul Pelosi!
To this day, he deals with terrible headaches, like being married to Nancy Pelosi.
I think Paul invited this guy for some ooh la la and it went south. 30 years for smacking Paul Pelosi's head with a hammer after the cops came and interrupted their tete a tete.I actually feel sorry for DePape, to be honest.

Federal officials are the ones who make the laws that say attacks on federal officials get punished much, much more severely than attacks on the rest of us peons. If DePape had fractured your skull or mine, he would have gotten maybe a year in jail, out in 3 months on good behavior. In fact, if he had actually beaten you or me to death he probably wouldn't have been sentenced to 30 years, especially in San Francisco.

Much less likely he will spill the details to the press in 30 years. Just like the innocent in fed prison for Jan 6.

The dope should have attacked the police - - and then he would have skated free.
Plus - - he may have gotten a "contributor" gig with CNN.

What happened to the guy who was caught near Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh's house. The man who was going to kill him and his family?

#2, There is nothing odd about getting from Berkeley to San Francisco. Tens of thousands do it every day and night on the Bay Area Rapid Transit. There is a Municipal Railway bus stop quite near the Pelosi establishment. As a resident of San Francisco I, as well as anyone who cared, know where the Pelosis live. They do not live in a gated area, but have a house right on the street, like most of us do in San Francisco. Obviously there was no security detail on the property that night. Nancy and the Pelosi children are responsible for leaving an obvious heavy drinking octogenarian on his own. He forgot to set the alarm.
As for the juvenile numbskulls snickering that a multi-millionaire, even if he had a yen to experience the love that won't shut up, would chose an ugly, overweight, middle-aged loser for a roll in the hay, please stop embarrassing yourselves.

Paul's biggest headache is the Satanic broad that lives with him. That would give anyone a headache.

10, I'm from SF, too. There is something -very- odd about some Berkeley leftist deciding to take BART to SF at 3am when BART last train runs at midnight....
But as a San Franciscan, you knew that. Right?

Assuming he had cased the Pelosi residence and the succession of modes of public transportation required to travel the 15 or so miles to get there, am I the only one who wonders why he didn't know she was away? Or did it really matter to him?

But attack a cop, kick him in the head while he’s down, and you’re out by supper time. It’s good to be an elite democrat. The laws never apply to you. But your attackers will get prison time. Even if they’re just praying in front of your Planned Parenthood Clinic.

FTA: "Paul Pelosi suffered a fractured skull and severe damage to his left hand. To this day, he deals with terrible headaches,"
And will continue to suffer those headaches since he married her decades ago.
