Having served on three Manhattan juries, I would not be surprised if the 12 men and women hearing New York vs. Donald J. Trump acquitted him of all charges. During two civil actions and one criminal case, my fellow jurors were serious, professional and movingly civic-minded. A quiet, solemn patriotism infused our deliberations. Several jurors said that we should respect the justice system because, someday, we might need it to respect us. (snip) These three cases confirm that Manhattan juries are sober and perfectly capable of fairness. This is good news for Trump.

Kurdish citizens protested across Turkey after a court sentenced Selahattin Demirtas, former co-chair of the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) and two-time presidential candidate, to 42 years in prison.
Officials in 20 provinces banned demonstrations, social gatherings, and public events for four days in a bid to tamp down Kurdish outrage.
Demirtas, 51, has been in prison since 2016. He managed to place third in Turkey’s 2018 presidential election despite being in jail. Shortly after that election, Turkish courts finally got around to convicting him of links to the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK),
NBC is set to air a television special aimed to shed light on the wide array of LGBTQI+ behaviors observed in the natural world, IndieWire reported Thursday.
NBC is set to explore same-sex relationships and diverse sexual behaviors in the animal kingdom with its upcoming television special titled “Queer Planet.” The documentary, part of the network’s celebration of PRIDE month, is scheduled to stream on NBCUniversal’s Peacock starting June 6, according to IndieWire. Narrated by Andrew Rannells, “Queer Planet” will share examples of “queer” relationships in the animal kingdom.

Perry also legally had a gun on him and fired the pistol at Foster because he feared for his life.

A New York elementary school that forced a 10-year-old student with severe asthma and anxiety to wear a mask during the Covid-19 pandemic despite her (having) a medical exemption will be going to court to defend itself from her lawsuit. (snip) In 2021, Sarah was forced to continue masking up in class despite receiving confirmation of a medical exemption from her treating physician.
School officials allegedly "harassed and humiliated her," and even filmed her pulling down the mask to try and breathe.

The city’s Department of Public Health runs the Managed Alcohol Program (MAP) to give doses of alcohol to the addicted, Fox News reported on Saturday.

John Barnett was found dead on March 9 on day three of his deposition against Boeing. He worked for Boeing for 32 years until he retired in 2017.

Scottie Scheffler was detained by Louisville police and handcuffed by officers outside of Valhalla Golf Club on Friday ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, who witnessed the incident.
Darlington said the scene involving Scheffler and the police unfolded “very quickly, very rapidly and very aggressively” on the ESPN broadcast.
Scheffler, 27, was booked before 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, according to the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections. The situation, which occurred around 5:45 a.m. in the pitch dark, was all due to a misunderstanding over traffic flow.
Scheffler was trying to get around traffic caused by a fatal accident involving a shuttle bus near the course.
