An online petition to have the Chiefs part ways with kicker Harrison Butker in the wake of his viral commencement speech has exceeded 180,000 signatures. “The harmful remarks made by Harrison Butker, kicker of the Kansas City Chiefs, during his commencement address at Benedictine College were unacceptable,” the petition’s organizer wrote. “His comments were sexist, homophobic, anti-trans, anti-abortion and racist.” There also is a place online for people to show their support for Butker. It’s a site called “From Field Goals To Family Goals: Harrison Butker Wins,” and apparently has ties to former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz.

I went to FB and there are SO many groups and other players who support him! And these aren't groups or people I follow, they are just popping up in my news feed.

Mr. Butker's opinions are 100% OK. They are not Hunger Games. They are American, apple pie, etc. Live with it America. He's entitled to express his opinions.

The audacity of the Devil's fans who've signed that petition... excuse me, who died and made you the god who insists they fire this great kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs... how about if we go to your employers and demand you are to be fired for the speech you have which is obvious hatred of traditional Judeo-Christian ethics and principles and the people with them. WOW... take your hate and censorship with you to a country who must agree with you politically... this is the land of free and home of the brave... if you don't like our country hoss, you're walkin' on the fighten' side of me!

I was going to say, that if Butker's opinions and beliefs aren't welcome by football fans, it would be because their contemptible actions as a League have revolted most of their fan base.

Love to see the pushback. Not that long ago, these fascists had the final say. Not so, anymore.

#8, there may be a bunch of San Francisco 49er fans in that number. Of course, that could mean some overlap in the numbers.
Could be a few Bills fans as well.

I don’t believe those 180,000 signatures are any more genuine than the 81,000,000 votes were for Ghost-brain Biden.

Obviously Benedictine College had no problem with his speech. Poor souls. They are probably concerned that his words will resonate. After all, they have had the "protest" bullhorn since 2020 and do not want anyone encroaching on their territory. . .

His address to the Catholic students, at a Catholic University, are entirely in line with the Catholic Church, any anything he said can be found in "The Catechism of the Catholic Church". So I guess that the Catechism should be banned, according to the deep thinkers and scholarly theologians whose comments can be found on The View and similar philosophers.

And the fact that Mr. Butker personally accounted for 13 of the 25 points in the KC Chiefs' recent Super Bowl win pretty much guarantees that none of the putrid folks' hate will have the slightest affect on his job.
Oh, yeah, he also happened to set the "longest field goal ever in a Super Bowl' too, in February's game.
He's golden, and besides that ..... probably 10 people love what he said for every puke that hates it.

I'm guessing that the KC Star reporter was very unhappy with the headline the editors wrote for his article. Good for the editors.
