While the Episcopal Church has not exactly been a bastion of conservatism and Christian orthodoxy for many years now, its recent unveiling of an LGBT “pride” logo signaled its final capitulation to secular forces. (snip) On May 16, the Episcopal Church took things to the next level with a news release touting a “Pride shield.”
The church’s ancient shield was revised to include elements of the LGBT “Pride” and “Pride Progress” flags.
(snip) the traditional logo for the Episcopal Church is a red cross on a white shield, the standard for England’s patron saint, St. George, a Roman martyr most renowned for slaying a demonic dragon.

Lord, have mercy. Thankfully there are still some bishops in Anglican and Catholic circles who are focusing on RENEWING their traditional moral teaching, rather than REVISING them. People being abandoned by their shepherds should be able to find more consistency in those dioceses.

The clergy at the Nashville Episcopal Cathedral and some of the local liberal congregations have been wearing homosexual supporting vestments for probably 20 years now. The clergy of Methodists, Presbyterians, and Lutherans urban congregations do now too. These once fine churches are white washed tombs, far more interested in making sinners feel good about their sin than actually doing Christ's work on Earth, that being salvation.

It is everywhere. Police don't police - unless to harass citizenry doing what is constitutional. Doctors prescribe unproven and dangerous drugs because they were TOLD to - now it is 'Primum Nocere'. Teachers molest our children with verbal immorality. Librarians push Alphabet perversion. Journalists don't report - they are political mouthpieces. Every manner of news are lies not Truth. Hell! What should we expect from the Episcopalian church?

Does anyone else see the irony in a church having a PRIDE flag in that pride is named as a sin in the Bible?
But seriously, these churches have abandoned their mandate given at the beginning of the church, to go into all the world and preach the Gospel of Jesus death and resurrection so that you can be forgiven and avoid hell. If you are only telling people that Jesus was a good guy who loved everyone and not telling them that they need to repent of their sin and rely on Christ for forgiveness, you are sentencing them to hell.

I wish they could point to some Scriptural reference for their decision.
Satan has discovered “cafeteria Christianity” (“cafeteria doctrine”) is now the way to go to deceive people. It appeals to their inner feel good (“I’m OK; you’re OK”) it doesn’t require any thought (“the church says”), and it’s the lazy man’s way out to fit in with the culture.

#9 is correct. I can recall a time when the Episcopalians were simply not so judgemental about having the occasional drink, etc. and thus attracted that sort of new member. Like all of leftism, they didn't stop at just letting the camel's nose in the tent. They won't stop at civil accommodation or at a little bite of the bread. They want the whole loaf and won't stop until they get it.

#5,EtAl~ Please know that the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), which has become ultra-liberal, does NOT represent all Lutheran Churches in this country. The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) and Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) remain committed to and revere the teachings of Scripture.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) began going off the deep end about 25 years ago and should not be identifying as “Lutheran” as the ELCA clearly represents extreme liberalism. The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCSM) and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) are theologically conservative churches in this country. In 2010, there was a split from the ELCA forming the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) that identifies as being between the liberal ELCA and LCMS.
Again, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America does not represent all Lutherans and should stop identifying as Lutherans.

The new logo doesn't just include them, they fully capitulated to them, devoting most of the logo to the gender symbolism while leaving a small corner of it to their traditional Episcopal symbols.
But the change is probably more a matter of openness than real substance -- the ideology has been sweeping through the 'shepherds' without being officially admitted.
Repent, brethren, and return to the Lord your God, while there is still time.

What part of the statement in the Bible about homosexuality being an abomination don't these clergy understand? And don't say Jesus blessed the prostitute because he said you are forgiven but don't do it anymore. Will homosexuals desist from their behavior to be accepted by a church? I think not.

These churches have pastors who are "ear ticklers" because they want more butts in their seats. More butts mean more $$$ in their coffers. There is no interest in teaching Scripture the way it must be taught. They worship mammon and only mammon, pure and simple. Good luck on the LORD’S Day; they're gonna need it.

For thousands of years homosexuality has been an abomination
It still is, only now many people accept it as normal.
It isn't normal, these people are bent. Yes, I can understand not hating them but they are not normal people.
They have a sickness that has been recognized as a sickness for thousands of years.
I don't care what they do, but they needn't advertise it and go out recruiting other to their sickness.

By removing the cross from the shield, they are removing Christ from their church. They are now just a branch of the Unitarians -- if it feels go do it, God approves!

None dare call it sin.
Jeremiah 5:31 “The prophets prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule by their own power;
And My people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?”

And how will they be displaying their support for us Biblically-based, traditional believers?
I will not be displaying the new shield. In fact I think it's time to get a larger "standard" one.

Apparently Episcopal Church is banking on a rush of new members from the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ crowd to make up for the loss of members who have no need to parade their sexuality in the streets.
