How to lose billions on EVs

Original Article

Senator Sam Ervin said: “A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you’re talking real money.” Our federal government has been talking trillions for some time now, but the Mummified Meat Puppet Administration’s (MMPA) push for electric vehicles has EV manufacturers talking, and losing, billions. MMPA mouthpieces like Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm assure us EVs are the future and they’re pushing unconstitutional, unrealizable regulations to force that future down our throats. Unfortunately for them, economic reality is intruding, and Ford provides a disturbing example:

Comments:

Ford lost $132,000 on each EV sold this year. I paid half of that for my first home, and that is far more than most can afford to pay for any car.
This is a truly stunning financial disaster for Ford. How long can the Board of Directors let these incompetent fools run the company into bankruptcy?

There is no infrastructure for EVs. It would be like selling electric lamps before homes were wired for electricity. Or gas-powered cars before there were gas stations. If there was a demand for these cars, there would be a demand for charging stations and they would be built. Obviously, there is not.

Re #1, autos were sold long before there were many gasoline stations. But not matter, a couple of small fuel cans could get you a quick refill from your own onboard supply. This isn't possible for EVs, so they depend heavily on a hugely expensive, highly subsidized infrastructure.....and STILL take hours longer for any trip beyond your home town for commuter service. EVs are a technology that was first commercially available in the 1890s, and was deemed 'not ready for use' for most people. And here we are 135 years later and EVs are STILL not ready for use for most people. Ford's BOD needs to fire these fools before they destroy the company entirely.

#3 & #4. Yep, the quote came from Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen. But, Sam Erwin might have said it. After all, Sam was a demoncrap, a critter not know for originality. Some day if I live long enough (possible but improbable) I might want to buy an EV. But, it should be my decision and not the government's. The Left is trying to force us into EVs by outlawing ICE cars. They tried it with light bulbs and toilets and now they are after cars. Soon they will require that we eat bugs and outlaw elevators so that we get exercise.

Nothing to do with the earth or the climate. They don't want us traveling willy-nilly. The productive and law abiding leave war torn blue cities and take their tax revenues with them. EVs would be perfect in the '15 minute cities' that are being planned.

Ford no longer makes a sedan. Chevy is dropping the only gas powered sedan they make, the Malibu, in Nov of 2024. The Volkswagen plant in Tennessee voted union. Hertz invested their future in electric rental cars, and no one rented them, now selling them at huge losses. Hertz will end up bankrupt--again. American auto manufacturers have staked their company on an expensive, foolish option, and will end with cars manufactured overseas to avoid the unions, to continue producing gas powered vehicles, all using coal and natural gas powered electricity. Worse, there are fire outbreaks from these batteries popping up too often for anyone's peace at owning an electric vehicle. In short, sell everything related to American auto manufacturing. It is a bust!

EVs as of today are highly impractical. Give me one that I can charge at a nearby station in ten minutes and has a 300 miles plus range and I might be interested but probably not. That’s if I can find a charging station. I am not aware of any in my town of 25,000. My grandmother had a lady friend who had an ev back around 1900 but those things died out in a few years when ICE vehicles supplanted them. Maybe 20 years from now they will be more useful as technology advances but maybe not.

In researching my new book, Ashli: The Untold Story of the Women of January 6, I discovered something unexpected: an alarming confirmation of my September 2022 article in which I argued that Educated Liberal Females (ELFs) are the single greatest threat to our enduring liberties. My new book deals specifically with the ELF’s natural foes, the women of January 6. Among the ten women I profile is Dr. Simone Gold. Even before getting caught up in the events of that memorable day, Dr. Gold had set the ELFs on edge through her work with America’s Frontline Doctors, a group she founded.

It’s a fine idea to pay tribute to movie stuntmen, those little-known heroes of the silver screen. But one would have to be far more charmed by endless, overloud, and preposterous action scenes and brain-dead fights than I am in order to enjoy The Fall Guy, which I recently watched at the local Bijou. The American Spectator’s Leonora Cravotta is right about the movie’s boy/girl romance and the welcome clear line between good and bad. These are too rare on the large or small screen these days. But for me these positives were cancelled by the aforementioned dreary chaos at industrial decibel levels. No disrespect to the estimable Leonora.

Fake studies have flooded the publishers of top scientific journals, leading to thousands of retractions and millions of dollars in lost revenue. The biggest hit has come to Wiley, a 217-year-old publisher based in Hoboken, N.J., which Tuesday will announce that it is closing 19 journals, some of which were infected by large-scale research fraud. In the past two years, Wiley has retracted more than 11,300 papers that appeared compromised, according to a spokesperson, and closed four journals. It isn’t alone: At least two other publishers have retracted hundreds of suspect papers each. Several others have pulled smaller clusters of bad papers.

As both a proud Reagan conservative and as an American patriot, I am deeply troubled by our nation slipping from its responsibilities as the leader of the free world. Russia and Hamas both represent terrorist entities. Disengaging from the world stage and thinking it’s “none of our business” is a position that a man lionized by every conservative American like President Ronald Reagan would never embrace. Russia’s horrific crimes against the Ukrainian people are inexcusable and unjustified. I am both embarrassed by the Biden administration’s slow and weak response, and by the so-called Republicans who embrace the same foreign policy views that radical leftist

The Bible calls the Jews “a stiff-necked” people. (“The Lord also said to me, ‘I have seen this people, and they are indeed a stiff-necked people.’” Deuteronomy 9:13.) In other words, they’re stubborn, and nothing has been more stubborn than American Jews’ long-standing refusal to acknowledge the rising antisemitism in the heart of the Democrat party. Donald Trump’s pro-Israel record barely swayed them. However, Biden’s blatant anti-Israel policies, combined with the violent antisemitism in academia, may finally be doing the trick. Traditionally, Jews have been second only to blacks in their fealty to the Democrat party. Many of them came from Tsarist Russia, which was fiercely antisemitic.

When Alexander the Great invaded Phrygia, in 334 BC, he is said to have encountered the legendary Gordian Knot. It was a tightly knit tangle of rope, so convoluted that none could untie it. The legend has it that whoever could untie the knot would be the rightful ruler, because that man would possess great wisdom. Alexander could have conquered Phrygia by armed might, but he chose instead to attempt to untie the knot. He quickly, however, discerned that he could not do so, and whether in a fit of rage, or perhaps by thoughtful plan

COVID-19, which killed 1.1 million Americans and destroyed the lives and livelihoods of millions more, is a manmade virus that escaped from a Chinese lab partly funded by the US government. Even today, you’re not supposed to say that — even though it’s the only plausible scenario. No, “fact checkers” will rush in to claim that eminent scientists deny this. Which is because those scientists have too much invested — in money, in time, in their own beliefs — to admit the truth. But as Congress continues to probe, that truth is coming out, little by little, and the lies are being exposed:
