Olympic Games organisers have wilted to pressure from athletes and ordered more than 700kg of eggs and a tonne of extra meat to replace fake meat meals and non-dairy options.
Athletes and teams have been left far from impressed by the food on offer as the Olympic village, just one of a number (of) complaints including a lack of air conditioning, uncomfortable cardboard beds, lengthy walks to the cafeteria and overcrowded buses which do not run on time.
Organizers at the Paris Games were determined to make this Olympics the most sustainable of all time, prioritizing a green approach in almost every area.

Nutball fake food isn't going to work for anyone, especially athletes. How incredibly stupid.
And cardboard beds? Good grief, what a crappy experience. Check out of the Olympic Hell Village and go to a nice hotel.

As is always the case, "green" stuff is crap that doesn't work well and costs a lot more.

How's that green energy thing working out for ya, Frenchie?
You run the Olympics the same way you fight wars.

Once again, the greenies fail to impress. This Olympics will go down as the least interesting and least watched - ever. I hope the swimmers survive the contaminated Seine.

About two years after Katrina I took a tour of a new green and sustainable housing complex meant to benefit residents of the 9th Ward in New Orleans after their lives had been shattered by the hurricane. It was partially planned underwritten and promoted by housing construction genius Brad Pitt - the Frank Lloyd Wright of……well…..let me think……I guess of soft pretty men who make a living acting like tough pretty men while being filmed. As soon as occupied, the homes became unlivable with mold, rot and deterioration. After fighting the further-traumatized occupants like hell, Pitt and associate fools and fraudsters had to pay them $20+M in damages. But it was the thought that counted. Green = scam.

It's hilarious to observe these Olympics which seem to be comprised of sad-looking mandarins having their PC nonsense mocked, challenged, rebelled against and ignored.
The Games should be retitled A Fortnight Of Socialist Failure from the deviant opening ceremony to the problems with venues, including making the competition swimming pool too shallow. Probably some lame green initiative involving 'sustainability' to 'save water.'
It's a microcosm of the politics of brainwashing young people to think that deprivation and oppression are good things if everyone is deprived and oppressed (right down to discouraging sex - the Olympic athletes are legendary for being supremely fit and supremely randy). Most athletes are simply thrilled to be there - they take their selfies and follow orders...until they realize it's more like an open-air prison with the occasional sports day thrown in.

I wonder how many of these athletes have voiced their support for green policies before they had to actually live with them?

During his years of competitive swimming, multiple gold medalist Michael Phelps consumed some 12,000 calories per day and would work out for eight hours, burning off all that fuel, which was necessary considering all the energy he put out. Most of us would outweigh Haystacks Calhoun if we consumed a similar amount of calories without the all day long workouts. But Phelps turned all those calories into Olympic gold. For him it was the right thing to do.

It’s very educational for them to get a sneak peak at what the globalists want to do to all of us.

Boy, Paris has completely screwed this one up, haven’t they? It’s a continuing problem for the left that their world of fantasy always smacks up against reality. Because they live in a cultural echo chamber in which their ideology is constantly echoed back to them, they believe they are in the vast majority. They are not. Not by a long shot. You would think this head smack would cause some self reflection, but it doesn’t. That’s the mental disorder part.

I have always been amazed at the left. You can't argue with them because they lack logic and common sense. These Olympics will always be remembered for being a giant fustercluck from the opening ceremonies on. Cross your fingers that some terrorist inspired tragedy doesn't occur. At least these games will be remembered but not in a way France would like...

Re #15. Yes, you are right on all of that. I, too, have been worried that their security arrangements are as good as their cardboard beds.
