Some Episcopal priests with nontraditional views on sexuality and human relationships are beginning to assert what they see as their right to put those views into practice. (snip) This is not a previous era’s war over homosexuality, but rather a present-day struggle over polyamory — “many loves.” A broader term is “consensual nonmonogamy” — relationships where everyone involved knows about and consents to a lack of exclusivity in sexual or romantic expression.

There was a time when I was a Postulant in the Episcopal Church... That is until the Church left me to become a Haven for paedophilia and those who practice it! God Damn them all!

The heart of the problem was the statement, 'We're all still figuring out.'. These matters of fidelity to A spouse let alone to 'one man - one woman' are all very much spelled out in Scripture - spelled out without any need or freedom to 'figure it out'. And THAT becomes my primary criticism with those who claim to be Christian yet believe their faith (little 'f') permits anything else one might choose to do - as long as it is done 'nicely'. It is bad enough that these people risk their own salvation but as ministers they will be held doubly accountable for those they mislead.

Faith will not go away, but church attendance certainly may. Between the "inclusiveness" of Protestant religions and the papal politics of the Roman Catholics more and more people will be disgusted with the modern religious takes on faith.

I guess people (and churches) are free to do what they want, but this sure opens a can of worms. Relationships are pretty precarious nowadays anyway. Add more people to the mix and the potential for trouble explodes. If they can't make it work they will have opened the gates of Hell.
I wish I had the energy for such a relationship. I've met a few people in my life with whom I might consider it. But would they have gotten along with the original Mrs. C long term? Best to err on the side of caution.

Sinners will try any excuse in attempts to justify what they do. Sometimes people even allow them to do it such as the modern acceptance of homosexuality and the use of abortion for birth control. One day they will have to explain to the guy at the gate why they murdered babies, molested children and practiced every kind of debauchery for which God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Good luck with that, "priests," you will need it.

The Episcopal church ceased being a church many decades ago. Even before it went full blown leftist it was more of a social club than a church.

By all means, debate the title question, but be sure to resolve the far more foundational one that underpins it, somewhere in the muddle:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.(1Cor 6:9-10)

The Episcopal Priest who married my wife and me in 1975 was retired military and his opinion of what was happening to the church back then was anything but flattering. When the church began installing gays into key administrative positions and priesthoods, he retired shortly thereafter in total disgust.

Never play chess with an episcopal priest. They can't tell the bishops from the queens.

I remember when people who said this was coming after gay marriage were called “fringe conspiracy theorists”.
Apparently, “conspiracy theory” means “absolutely correct”.

I suggest listening to Adrian Rogers’ sermon on the parable of the mustard seed to understand the nature of the church in which this is alright.

"Back to the Seventh Commandment. Richter pointed out that acceptable patterns of behavior have evolved in many ways since Biblical times."
The Commandments have not "evolved." Those laws are not "living and breathing" with meanings subject to reinterpretation to reflect changing times. The Seventh says quite plainly "Thou shalt not commit adultery." Married people who are in polyamorous relationships are doing just that. Continue as you will, but don't pretend otherwise.
There are fewer and fewer practicing Episcopalians as time goes by. This is but the latest example of why.

Or as Flip Wilson called it "The Church of What's Happenin' Now". Many churches are losing their way in their quest to get more butts in their seats which leads to more 💰💰💰 in the offering plates. True scriptural sermons/behaviors take a back seat to being popular. As we know, the left has infiltrated this institution since they want to lead people AWAY from the LORD. However He will have the Last Word. It seems that many in the Church are unfamiliar with Romans 1:18-32 .... or they know and don't care. They're treading in dangerous territory but won't realize it until it's too late.

Sounds like the beginnings of a new religion.
Was listening to a sermon, and the priest made a comment on the number of religions in the world. Care to guess? His answer was 20000. Considerably higher than what I thought. He also said they were all different, but all claimed to be divinely inspired. How can that be? Doubt that God would say one thing to one priest and make a contradictory statement to another priest. Only answer I could come up with is humanity created religion and many (all?) are not divinely inspired.
That is why I think God and religion are two different things. Listen to God. Be careful listening to a priest/religion.

And it would have to be the Episcopal Church. I was baptized into what has become a devolving freakshow, and truly wonder how much longer I can put up with it. No matter how hard they stretch to excuse sin and perversion, adultery is still adultery.

“consensual nonmonogamy”, huh?
Gee, to me this has the same awkward 'ring' to it as other Leftist phrases, like:
"gender-affirming care' (a. k. a. genital mutilation) and
"reproductive health care" (a. k. a. abortion, a. k. a. murdering a person who has not yet been born)
In other words, language Evil from the Satanic Left.
Beware!
