Senior judges in Florida approached Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon last year to ask her to step back from his Mar-a-Lago classified documents case – but she steadfastly refused, according to a shocking new report.
Cannon has been the source of fury and puzzlement among Trump critics after she issued rulings in the case that got overturned and failed to get it on track for trial before the November elections.
Trump was indicted in June 2023 and charged with illegally retaining national security documents at his Florida club. Not long after the fact, two senior federal judges asked Cannon, who had been assigned the case, to step back, the New York Times reported Thursday,

I hope Judge Cannon politely and with legal deference told these "senior judges" (no doubt Obama and Clinton appointees) to stick it where the sun don't shine.
Maybe NY and DC play with fixed refs, but most of the country doesn't. For now.

Crooked judges trying to get the rare honest judge to stop upholding the laws as written, and get on the Lawfare Bandwagon.

"Judge, you must recuse yourself and step down."
"Why"
"You are making too many rulings in favor of Trump. At this rate, you will never get a conviction before the election."

And rightfully so. The American people have had enough of the Democrats anti Constitution/ Marxist dictatorship Justices. Democrats have collapsed the Separations of Power and are on the verge getting the Marxist dictatorship they've always wanted. This election could not be more important.

I love how they keep showing that bathroom with the document boxes. After the GAO drops off 6 pallets of boxes, where are you supposed to put them? I saw some numbers that Winston seems to have wiped from the internet of the number of documents that are at issue. Fewer than Joe Biden had. So the FBI swoops in and comes out with 30 boxes. What did they get. 4 or 5 or 6 boxes of NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS. And Trump's tax returns.
And his passport!
Trump couldn't/didn't take those six pallets. They were in Fed control long enough for documents to be put in there. And they were just dumped at Mar a Lago. I'm glad this judge is saying that NO ONE is above the law... and that she's including the FBI.

Judge Cannon was asked to step back from the case. She was not ordered to do so. There is a difference. Just another hit piece on Judge Cannon because she is slowly and methodically ruling for (and against) Trump. There leftists issue with Cannon is that she is not rubber stamping Jack Smiths requests. She is questioning and exposing his underhanded tactics. The left isn't used to that.

What ever happened to the juror whose cousin reveled that the jury had convicted PRESIDENT Trump, on all 34 trumped up charges. We know the judge knew this. he should step down. but then that guy is not honest in his daily life, let alone while on the bench. must be a democrat.

It wasn’t these judges who wanted Cannon off the case. It wasthe completely corrupt DOJ. I don’t think it’s going to work. Who asked the judges in NY to ‘step back’? Disgusting.

I agree with poster #15, what happened to that story? Also, does anyone wonder why not a single juror on that trial has spoken up? That seems rather curious since most people would love to be in the media spotlight and since it was supposedly unanimous on guilty votes the media would treat any juror as a saint.

UK Daily Mail is a good tabloid, but not a legitimate news source.
If it were, it would not has said the judge has delayed the trial indefinitely without explaining why:
(1) Smith's team mishandled/ tampered with evidence that requires investigation.
(2) Canon is considering in a professional manner whether Smith was legally appointed.

This DM article headline mnipulates what actually happened. From the NYT article linked herein:
"Shortly after Judge Aileen M. Cannon drew the assignment in June 2023 to oversee former President Donald J. Trump’s classified documents case, two more experienced colleagues on the federal bench in Florida urged her to pass it up and hand it off to another jurist, according to two people briefed on the conversations.
The judges who approached Judge Cannon — including the chief judge in the Southern District of Florida, Cecilia M. Altonaga — each asked her to consider whether it would be better if she were to decline the high-profile case, allowing it to go to another judge, the two people said."
