On Sunday's "This Week," Martha Raddatz had a panel discussion with three "experts" on the upcoming presidential debate. The panel included Frank Luntz, and what he offered up made little sense.
Luntz claims that the last two presidential campaigns, beginning with Trump versus Clinton in 2016 and then Trump versus Biden in 2020, were the beginning of the end of democracy. It seems everything in politics is “the end of democracy.” Luntz claimed that personal invectives and insults are too debasing and, apparently, a sign of the end of democracy. Luntz is a pollster, not a historian. Maybe he’s unaware of the long history of politicians insulting each other.

Luntz is a putz. And I never trust a woman with 3 names (Sheila Jackson Lee, Hillary Rodham Clinton et al)

I guess Frank hasn't read about some of our Founding Fathers. Talk about throwing shade and dissing each other. Democracy is just fine. They can't run on FJB record. They don't know what else to do.

Luntz appears on my television screen and click goes my remote. And I would not be watching ABC in any case.

If we got rid of the “Sullivan Ruling”
and brought back dueling, that could reduce the insults in politics.
Would that cheer you up Frank?

I suppose the esteemed 'journalists' never heard of Aaron Burr killing Alexander Hamilton, perhaps the most important founding father to not hold the office of president, in a duel. Our still-new Republic endured.

"Richard N. Goodwin, a senior adviser and speechwriter for Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson whose later work as an author, journalist and political consultant reflected his unswerving liberal outlook, died on Sunday at his home in Concord, Mass. He was 86.
"Mr. Goodwin’s wife, Doris Kearns Goodwin, the Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer and historian, said he died after a brief bout with cancer."
Doris Goodwin
October, 2018
"Minutes after Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court on Oct. 6, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin criticized the commander-in-chief for failing to have empathy, humility, resilience and ability to control one's emotions — qualities she says both he and Kavanaugh lack."
Doris Helen Kearns Goodwin is now 81 years old, January 4, 1943

Presidential candidate insults from History.com :
Andrew Jackson’s only two regrets: “that I have not shot Henry Clay or hanged John C. Calhoun.”
Abraham Lincoln on Stephen Douglas’ policy on slavery: It 'is as thin as the homeopathic soup that was made by boiling the shadow of a pigeon that had been starved to death.'
Theodore Roosevelt on William McKinley : 'McKinley had no more backbone than a chocolate eclair.' And on President Woodrow Wilson “a Byzantine logothete backed by flubdubs and mollycoddles.”
President Harry S. Truman on General Dwight D. Eisenhower: 'The General doesn’t know any more about politics than a pig knows about Sunday.'
Dwight D. Eisenhower on Richard Nixon contributions as his vice president: 'If you give me a week, I might think of one. I don’t remember.'
Lyndon B. Johnson on Gerald Ford: 'Jerry Ford is so dumb that he can’t f*rt and chew gum at the same time.'

Luntz the putz apparently hasn't read up on Winston Churchill's insults, which were legendary.

Luntz reflects most people today who can’t stand Trump. Oh, he’s so rude! That’s what they’ll say. I hope The Donald gets under FJB’s skin and shows us Biden’s lack of manners, lack of smarts, and stupidity.

(Clicked send too soon) Doesn't matter now who said it, but we still love the conversation of old which said, "“If I Were Your Wife I’d Put Poison in Your Tea!” “If I Were Your Husband I’d Drink It”

Absurd characters. Luntz isn't worth comment. Doesn't DKG share a trait with FJB? (Plagiariam)
