Taylor Swift's Wembley Eras Tour is just around the corner, but a recent incident has thrown a splash of orange paint onto the pre-show buzz. Swift's private jet became an unwitting target in a London airport protest. Eco-activists from the group Just Stop Oil doused several private jets with orange paint, with Swift's plane reportedly among those present at the moment. The Cruel Summer singer’s jet was believed to have just landed hours before the “second anti-fossil fuels protest,” took shape. Taylor Swift's name has been added to an expanding roster of stars under scrutiny for their use of private jets. As concerns over carbon emissions mount,

I wonder if they use paint with petroleum derivates or any products which were shipped using petroleum products.

#1 - Taylor is already writing a song about them (my apologies if I didn't correctly pronoun them, their genders were not noted in the article).

It's not the use of private jets that bothers me. It's the hypocritical flyers telling me I have to give up my fossil fuel burning means of transportation. Like the Waghu beef eaters telling me I have to eat crickets! Make the protesters do the actual labor of cleaning up the messes they create!

Brilliant move eco terrorists. Anger a bunch of Swifties who are probably slightly sympathetic to your cause.

Doesn't it make one feel warm and cozy knowing that the plane you are flying on was freely accessible to damn near anyone?

It seems Just Stop Oil is on their way to becoming the most annoying and hated activist group on the planet. Drama queens and attention whores, who needs them?

These eco-vandals are close to jumping the shark. If they start inconveniencing their celebrity friends, they will soon become pariahs to the media and their sympathetic fellow travelers.

While Aditi Srivastava at the Hindustan Times [New Delhi India] wrings her hands over Taylor Swift's jet, an article (link: https://www.devdiscourse.com/article/headlines/2989474-indias-fossil-fuel-consumption-hits-record-high-in-2023) states that:
"Fossil fuel consumption in India rose by 8% in 2023, significantly contributing to global demand growth. A report by the Energy Institute highlighted that India used more coal than Europe and North America combined."
India, as the saying goes, "First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.."
A separate article (link: https://globalenergymonitor.org/report/boom-and-bust-coal-2024/)
shows that China's additional coal-fired power plants dwarfed the rest of the world, with Indonesia and India in 2nd and 3rd place. The USA had by far the largest reduction in coal-fired power plant capacity, with the UK and Australia in 2nd and 3rd place.
I don't know about the UK, but on this side of the pond there are severe punishments for vandalizing an aircraft.

Idiots. If they didn't have oil, they'd be living in a dirt floored hovel eating rabbit cooked over a camp fire......or just dead.

There are a few problems here. First, if some crazed climate kooks can get into the airport to vandalize Taylor Swift's private jet, what is to stop some crazed Islamic terrorists from doing the same thing and planting bombs or sabotaging commercial passenger jets? A big fireball on takeoff of a British Airways jet would draw a lot of attention to the terrorists cause. Next, did the climate kooks think about how many petroleum products and fluorcarbons will be released repainting the jet and chemicals will be used to clean it before painting? They did more damage to the environment than Swift's jet. Finally, who do these activists really think they are bringing to their cause by doing this stupid stuff?

I call her Taylor Twit. Admittedly, I am not the market for her entertainment. Americans are busy following celebrity antics, while our enemy, Red China, is arming to the teeth. To paraphrase Marx, celebrity is the opiate of the people.

Throw them in jail, make them pay the big bucks to clean all of the private jets. If you don't, they will just keep doing it until they do it to the wrong person. Then they won't be doing anything ever again.
