Melania Trump is unlikely to move into the White House if Donald wins another term in November, analysts say.
Those close to the former first lady believe she will likely split her time between Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, and New York City – especially with Barron, 18, tipped to attend New York University.
Melania would instead only travel to Washington, D.C. for ceremonial responsibilities like state dinners and other special events. The decision not to live with in Washington is an unprecedented move for a first lady and a break in two-and-a-half centuries of tradition.

I love this about her. And her son surely feels the same way.

"Analysts say..."."...might..." Gossips speculate for trashy Brit tabloid. (The DM is the UK's National Enquirer
Rationale makes perfect sense. And Brits don't kmow squat about our FLOTUS tradition.

Good for her - she's an honorable woman in her own right, no need for the DC vipers' nesting site.

and I won't blame her one bit because there will be non-stop and delirious demonstrations sponsored by the demcommies on the Front Lawn of the WH and the sight won't be pretty
the demcommies are apoplectic about this election and if our President is re-re-elected with a huge majority in the House and Senate(minus mcconnell, romney and some other turn coat RINO's) there will be no stopping the rise of the MAGA party and good by and good riddance to the Republican Party

Why the heck should she if she doesn't want to? The title, "First Lady" (which, like "nickle" for a 5¢ coin) does not actually exist and, in 2024 women no longer take their social rank exclusively from their husbands' job. The social staff at the White House is professional. It's 2024, women are not longer social and economical pendants of their husbands. She isn't needed to wipe his bottom like Doctor Jill and she isn't riding him for power like Hillary. If that's her choice - fine.

What she does is wholly up to her.
She will do what is best for her husband, her son, and for the nation.

So?
I don't blame her for not wanting to live in the cesspool that is DC. She will be there when it is needed, otherwise, who cares?

For those who mistakenly deduced something negative from the headline, and that was the DM's goal, for Pete's sake read the article. This has zero to do with her "loving her husband". I am terrified when I see supposedly intelligent Conservatives swallowing this crap whole.

Melania knows how to carry herself and raise her children. Living life the right way is her hallmark. Balancing her time during the President's second term makes sense to me. Splitting her time as a mother and First Lady is admirable. Nothing obligates her to live amongst the DC parasites full-time. Besides, she knows her husband will be up to the task.

Salacious headline.
“Might not live with…” generally implies a separation in the marriage.
You have to dig a bit to understand that in this case, it means nothing of the sort.
But as #16 points out, we need to be vigilant and careful consumers of “news.”

Consider the source of this BS.
The Daily Mail is a British rag sheet that is about 50 steps below The National Enquirer for journalistic integrity!!!! During his whole presidency, they constantly printed reports about President Trump that were always wrong and always from "anonymous sources".
Melania loves Donald, she is his wife, and she will be by his side wherever that is!!!

Journalists should be very careful in not bearing false witness against thy neighbor. If they have not talked to Melania Trump personally, then all they have is an opinion. . .

Let's see. Stay in a crappy city where everyone will trash you and your husband. or stay in a beautiful home in Florida with warm weather and where people respect you. Gee, I don't know, it's a toss up.

I think Jackie Kennedy and children spent more time at the Glen Ora Farm in Virginia than they did at the White House. Melania has made a good (and not unprecedented) decision.

Melania has "been there, done that" when it comes to living in the White House and DC. It didn't work out to well for her last time. Why do it again. She has her choice of much nicer homes in much nicer (and safer) places to chose from. She will help her husband when needed and go about HER business when she is not needed. First Lad is not an elected or paid position. It is a burden on the spouse who is expected to perform and behave as a government employee while not being a government employee. First Lady is a ceremonial position. Melania fulfilled her duties last go around and will do so the next time. She will just not be immersed in the back stabbing pit of venom and bile that is Washington DC.
