What has so often struck me, and irked me, about the embrace of “diversity” dogma is how profoundly unintellectual it is. A wiseguy might say it’s really a simple IQ test, though a wise guy understands it’s a soul and sagacity test. To wit: To the extent that a person accepts as imperative diversity, DEI, CRT, wokeness in general — or whatever the latest shiny anti-Truth thing is — he is a vacuous know-nothing, not just unqualified, but dangerously ignorant. Two recent examples are disgraced ex-Harvard president Claudine Gay and Johns Hopkins Hospital’s chief diversity officer Sherita Hill Golden, now infamous for disseminating a “privilege hit list.”

Magic does not happen because you have a white person, an Asian, a drag queen from South Africa, an Italian, three gay women, a mom with three children, and a flaming black gay man who is living with two illegal aliens, one gay from Brazil and one a straight sexual pervert all sitting around a table tackling the problems of the day. I want the best mix, whatever that mix happens to be. If I have a serious cancer and the best team is made up of white, straight men so be it. If the best team is more varied, ok with me. Which team has a history of success, a plan to handle my problem, qualifications and experience is the one I want. To believe that what is important is how you look is foolish and in some cases dangerous. How out of touch must you be to believe that qualifications are not a reason to be considered for a position but the tone of your skin is?

Having experienced the pressure of hiring for diversity purposes instead of blindly choosing the best candidates, I can attest to the number of delayed projects, hours spent handling the bad apples through the watchful eyes of the HR department and smoothing over the grumbling of the qualified people who were required to pick up the slack, I finally learned that it was best to run short-staffed than to put up with somebody who should not have been there if the playing field had been level. Having fewer employees with which to share the total bonus at year end usually made up for the extra workload because, of course, the bonus had to be shared with the deadwood.

Defense Secretary Austin is always saying diversity is our strength but the million or so under him in the Armed Forces are required to wear "uniforms." Will Austin mandate hijabs for women? The Army already allows women to wear hijabs with their Army Combat Uniforms. Marine bootcamp reduces its new entrants to a common zero and rebuilds them as Marines, e.g., from diversity to uniformity, which sets the Marines apart from the other services.

Intellectual diversity can be a strength: a room full of mechanical engineers all fluent in the technology, all working on the same thing, regardless of what sex or race, is a good thing. Throwing people together who aren't qualified in the technology but only because of their race or sex is not the same thing.

FORCED DIVERSITY for diversity's sake is a failure. It creates more divisiveness and mistrust than equity and inclusion. Naturally occurring diversity, where the people choose to be together with commonalities (work, social, music, art, education...) is successful. When people choose to be together diversity works. When they are forced to be together, it does not work. It is not racism, it is human nature!

I live in California and frequently write about its crime problems stemming from disastrous progressive policies like Proposition 47—which changed a slew of offenses from felonies to misdemeanors—and woke George Soros-backed district attorneys like LA's George Gascón. Bryn Spejcher, now 33, got high on marijuana in 2018, stabbed her boyfriend over a hundred times, knifed her dog and then herself, and yet received no jail time because defense experts deemed that she experienced "cannabis-induced psychosis"—a conclusion which the judge amazingly agreed with. In a fiery exchange last month, CNN anchorwoman Abby Phillip told GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy that there was “no evidence” to support his claim that federal agents abetted protesters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Ramaswamy shot back that the FBI conspicuously has never denied that law enforcement agents were on duty in the crowd. He argued that federal officials have repeatedly “lied” to the American people about not only that investigation but one that has gotten much less attention: the alleged failed plot to kidnap and kill Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan in 2020.

Hamas’ sinister network of tunnels underneath the Gaza Strip may be over 350 miles long – or hundreds of miles more than initial estimates, sources said this week. The tunnels may run for anywhere between 350 to 450 miles, and boast a staggering 5,700 entrance shafts, senior Israeli officials told The New York Times. The new estimates – which could not be confirmed – are over 100 miles longer than the original numbers, which placed the tunnel network at around 250 miles long, the outlet noted. The tunnels’ vastness is “extraordinary” given that Gaza’s longest point only stretches about 25 miles, the Times said.

The planned execution raises heated questions about the ethics of using the untried method to execute Smith, who has been through one previous execution attempt. If the execution is carried out, nitrogen hypoxia would be the first new method of execution since 1982, when the lethal injection was introduced. What is nitrogen hypoxia? Nitrogen hypoxia is a form of execution in which an inmate is deprived of oxygen until they breath only nitrogen, causing asphyxiation. Nitrogen, a colorless, odorless gas, makes up about 80% of the air we breathe. It isn't deadly until
