I live in California and frequently write about its crime problems stemming from disastrous progressive policies like Proposition 47—which changed a slew of offenses from felonies to misdemeanors—and woke George Soros-backed district attorneys like LA's George Gascón. Advertisement But even my jaw dropped when I heard about this judge's decision in Ventura County. Bryn Spejcher, now 33, got high on marijuana in 2018, stabbed her boyfriend over a hundred times, knifed her dog and then herself, and yet received no jail time because defense experts deemed that she experienced "cannabis-induced psychosis"—a conclusion which the judge amazingly agreed with. To put it bluntly, this is absolute lunacy.

Comments:

I know - it's California, but Soros prosecutors and judges are throughout the country along with 'social justice' politicians.

Only one solution to this. Legalize pot (/s). Judge ruled the murder an 'involuntary act'. Really? The pot lowered her inhibitions and the rest she did on her own. What are the odds she will murder (or attempt to murder) again? Legalizing pot: Is it really safe?

Crime and Punishment, an age old dilemma. Fashion keeps changing, yet nothing seems particularly effective or acceptable to most of us. Religious teaching is of little help, as its guidance varies from none to total or ultimate punishment for similar offense. Reeducation doesn’t work. Guess we are left to muddle on as we have since history has been recorded.

Oh thank goodness! It would have been totally inhumane for the prosecutor and jurors to treat the 32 year old defendant as an adult and hold her responsible for a crime she clearly was mentally disconnected from. Why, the very idea of holding a person responsible for a crime their body committed while their mind was in a Mary Jane high. It would have been barbaric! Thank goodness justice was served (clutching my imaginary pearls)..... You folks in Commiefornia better keep your spouses/partners away from the Mary Jane. And if cannabis can be blamed for this, then wine can be blamed for fatal DUI incident after a dinner party. And psychotic meth-driven murder sprees can be declared not the killer's fault, but the meth they binged on. The judge should be subjected to drug tests on the basis of this sentence.

Let's begin with an either-or question: Does Joe Biden a) honestly believe that natural gas is an existential threat to mankind, as he regularly claims, or is he b) more concerned with appeasing — for political purposes — environmentalist alarmists? Ponder the question if necessary — but I'm gonna go with "b." Advertisement While the professed fossil-fuel-loathing president has hysterically declared war on everything from residential gas furnaces to gas stoves to even gas dishwashers, his quest never ends. In a Friday morning announcement, the White House and Department of Energy (DOE) revealed their next target — and it's enormous.

In a fiery exchange last month, CNN anchorwoman Abby Phillip told GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy that there was “no evidence” to support his claim that federal agents abetted protesters at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Ramaswamy shot back that the FBI conspicuously has never denied that law enforcement agents were on duty in the crowd. He argued that federal officials have repeatedly “lied” to the American people about not only that investigation but one that has gotten much less attention: the alleged failed plot to kidnap and kill Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan in 2020.

The aircraft had just taken off from MIA when the incident occurred. Video footage shows the plane crossing the dark sky as what appeared to be flames and sparks spew out behind it, per video footage from the Today Show. “We’ll go ahead and land; we have five souls on board,” a pilot says in the audio recording.

What has so often struck me, and irked me, about the embrace of “diversity” dogma is how profoundly unintellectual it is. A wiseguy might say it’s really a simple IQ test, though a wise guy understands it’s a soul and sagacity test. To wit: To the extent that a person accepts as imperative diversity, DEI, CRT, wokeness in general — or whatever the latest shiny anti-Truth thing is — he is a vacuous know-nothing, not just unqualified, but dangerously ignorant. Two recent examples are disgraced ex-Harvard president Claudine Gay and Johns Hopkins Hospital’s chief diversity officer Sherita Hill Golden, now infamous for disseminating a “privilege hit list.”

New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams is considering the idea of setting a curfew for illegal aliens in state-run housing after rising crime and worrisome safety issues exploded around migrant shelters, setting legal residents on edge. Adams’ popularity has taken a steep nose dive recently, and he has been rapidly throwing ideas against the political wall, hoping it will bring voters back to his side after taking so much heat for his policies coddling illegal aliens. If this latest trial balloon becomes city-wide policy, illegal border crossers in state shelters would be required to be in their rooms by 11 p.m. each evening, according to the New York Post.

Hamas’ sinister network of tunnels underneath the Gaza Strip may be over 350 miles long – or hundreds of miles more than initial estimates, sources said this week. The tunnels may run for anywhere between 350 to 450 miles, and boast a staggering 5,700 entrance shafts, senior Israeli officials told The New York Times. The new estimates – which could not be confirmed – are over 100 miles longer than the original numbers, which placed the tunnel network at around 250 miles long, the outlet noted. The tunnels’ vastness is “extraordinary” given that Gaza’s longest point only stretches about 25 miles, the Times said.

It’s a bizarre story coming out of New York City: the secret Jewish tunnels that got busted up by police. It was a chaotic scene, where officers were forced to deploy pepper spray to get the crowd of Hasidic Jews under control. Almost a dozen members were arrested. The video footage is nuts, featuring a bloody mattress and an intricate network of underground works that immediately led to city inspectors verifying and combing the area for signs of degradation in structural integrity. The tunnels were built underneath a synagogue in Crown Heights. This illegal project was supposedly the brainchild of a group of extremist students of the Chabad movement.
