This is why I keep thinking that eventually we are going to have Civil War 2.0. Currently in California, and it seems even more likely from here. Nothing much normal any more in California.

Schlichter gets it. He is 100% correct. I'm an immigrant (and now a proud and productive citizen). We came here to escape from the types of people ruling (yes) this country now. There is nowhere else to escape. This is no joke. You better make up your mind to stand your ground here, and do whatever is necessary to defeat these communists. It begins by NOT staying polite and reasonable like the RINOs. Fight like hell to fix the voting processes, because they are going to turn EVERY state blue by slowly forcing them to accept motor-voter registrations and mail-in voting. Stop it dead in its tracks. Demand cleaning of all voter rolls, and the detailed vetting of any new registrations to assure citizenship and residence. Limit mail-in voting. Control chain-of-possession of ballots. One-day-only voting (NO early voting). Demand voting day count oversight and verification. Do it!

We're doing something about it. I live in Oldham Co KY (Thomas Massie is my Congressman.) Most reliably conservative county in all of KY's 120 counties.

Maybe the slogan from the 1950s should be revisited. It was "Kill a commie for Christ."

Kurt's not too far off the mark, but I don't see a divided country as he portrays in his fiction. I don't think things will change until we enter "Red Dawn" territory, only it won't be Soviet and Cuban troops hunting down the disloyal citizens, but rather our own neighbors. They'll patrol the streets and highways looking for those who own guns and still resist the dictates of the UniParty to jail as "insurrectionists" or "neo-Nazis". The meek Republicans will cower behind the doors of their government-subsidized housing, unable to flee in their government-subsidized EVs, waiting for the knock on the door to show their digital "papers". Will an aroused conservative America form their own "Wolverines" to launch a counter-insurgency...? At the moment, that seems a futile effort as the left continues to march through the courts and institutions... greyseal

On Friday’s broadcast of “CNN Primetime,” San Francisco Mayor London Breed acknowledged that the city has “been far too lenient” on drugs, but also responded to Target closing stores in the city by stating that “people don’t necessarily shop in the same ways that they did before” and that the growth of AI “requires us to make some significant adjustments in how we use our retail establishments as well.” Breed also stated that while retail theft is an issue “it’s a problem that’s also happening in other places all over the country as well.”

Dozens of people were arrested after a group of teenagers looted several stores in Philadelphia’s Center City District on Tuesday. The flash-mob-style ransacking at stores such as Apple, Foot Locker and Lululemon came after a peaceful protest over a judge’s decision to dismiss all charges, including murder, against former Philadelphia police officer Mark Dial in the Aug. 14 fatal shooting of 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry. Interim Philadelphia police commissioner John Stanford said at a news conference that the looters, who were seen on video in masks and hoodies, were not part of the protest but rather “a bunch of criminal opportunists.”

Twenty-five years ago, California enacted Proposition 10, one of the most aggressive anti-smoking campaigns in the country, referring to tobacco, not marijuana. Called the First Five program, it sharply increased taxes on cigarettes and directed much of the proceeds to a variety of programs and new agencies aimed at helping young families who are raising children. These included things such as preschools, pediatric healthcare, and literacy projects. It has been widely considered a success. But there is a growing problem with this project. It’s apparently been too successful.

It was horrible enough that retired police chief Andreas Probst, 64, was hit and killed while riding his bike in Las Vegas. But it got so much worse when a video came out about how he was killed, that he was run down intentionally by teens in a car, who giggled with one even saying "Hit his ass." You can see that graphic video here. After allegedly hitting Probst, they fled and left him lying there to die. The video was shocking and it went viral on social media because of the laughter, the seemingly deliberate nature of the act, and the filming of it.

The White House will announce this week that it is creating an office of gun violence prevention to focus on efforts to curb gun violence, two sources familiar confirmed to The Hill. Gun violence prevention advocates and Democratic lawmakers have been pushing the White House to establish a designated office solely focused on gun violence. Sen. Remember all those fights about removing historical statues? Of course you do, since the battles continue to this day. The issue flares up every once in a while, particularly when Democrats want to get their voters fired up against the evil American system of government, which is almost always. Advertisement One big battle took place during the Trump administration, and Trump dismissed the (largely successful) movement to remove statues and building names that glorified members of the Confederacy. Trump had a simple argument: wiping away these statues and references to the Confederacy had nothing to do with confronting America’s racist past, and everything to do with wiping away American history as a whole.

Eight Republicans voted with every present Democrat to vacate the speaker's chair. The final vote was 216 to 210 in favor of McCarthy's ouster. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., introduced a measure against McCarthy known as a motion to vacate on Monday night, accusing him of breaking promises he made to win the speaker's gavel in January.
