35,000 Morons: The Taylor Swift Problem

Original Article

Posted By: Hazymac, 10/3/2023 9:27:49 AM

There was a recent article from Newsweek that caught my eye. Entitled “Why Republicans’ War Against Taylor Swift Could Backfire,” it delves into an X (formerly Twitter) spat between The Federalist’s Sean Davis and left-wing activist Victor Shi. In response to an excellent piece by Mark Hemingway detailing the shallowness and vapidity, both technically and spiritually, of Swift’s music, Davis quipped, “Taylor Swift is dumb and her music sucks.” In response, Shi wrote, “Nothing says more about how little Republicans understand Gen Z than them now saying Taylor Swift is “dumb & her music sucks” after she registered more than 35,000 people to vote last week.

Taylor Swift has gone from zero articles in the 'news' to two or three articles a day. Did she hire a new PR firm to manage her career? They 'need' attention. There is no such thing as bad publicity as long as it gets them into the limelight.

Granted - she's talented enough to play a guitar and writ her own music. but it's always about breaking up and the boyfriends she's had. If you're 33 yrs old and you're still breaking up, hooking up, breaking up, hooking up over and over again and writing about it and putting it into music - and that's you're one track - then that screams arrested development to me. I'm pretty much *meh* about Taylor Swift

She's lacking in self-respect and gives herself away to man after man. Sorry, but this is not someone to be celebrated. I don't begrudge her ability to earn top dollar in her industry. But when I recently saw her hanging with the mom of her new football crush I wondered how any mother could want her son anywhere near that trash. It's a very sad commentary on many levels.

I didn't realize she is 33 years old until I read some article on her recently that mentioned her age. She has always seemed to me to be a permanent 16 year old. And I hear how she is a great businesswoman but I believe her father is/was a investment broker or something and has been advising her. Anyway - her music sucks and so do her fans - anyone who will pay over $1200.00 for one her tickets is an idiot but probably the same idiots who complain about the cost of gasoline.

I grew up with the Beatles. That's how old I am. Don't know one song she has ever sang. That's okay. Don't ever want to hear her sing. That's okay too. Has lots of fans. That's fine. Those fans pay through the butt to see and hear her. Their choice. Multi multi millionaire. It's her money. She worked for it. She is now a football fan because her main squeeze (for now) plays the game. Eventually she will breakup with him and he will inspire her next song that I will not care about or listen to. Whatever. Millions of women watch football every week because they simply enjoy the game. I prefer college. It appears she has pretty good control of her own life except for a lasting relationship. However, do not take political advice from a celebrity. Think for yourself, research, read, listen, evaluate.

The best thing that could ever happen would be for people to stop paying attention to what celebrities say and do and to just worry about the quality of their work. Like her music or not, Taylor Swift is an extremely talented singer. But, as in the case of most musicians, actors, and athletes who have tall podiums to stand on, that talent doesn’t mean she has anything intelligent to say. The great actor Anthony Hopkins says he doesn’t talk about anything other than his movies because he has noticed that most actors aren’t that smart.

Where did this 35,000 number come from? Self reported I imagine, or made up. How many of this number will actually vote? The same people who 'decide' to register to vote are historically lazy when it is time to actually fill out a ballot. Then again, it doesn't really matter since the Dems have multiple ways to magically and illegally 'create' votes.

Taylor Swift described herself in a song lyric: She’s a “nightmare wrapped in a daydream.” She writes and sings songs where she tells all her fans that she’s a literal monster, a villain. She knows her fans are pathetic chumps. It’s pretty much impossible to feel sorry for her fans.

Someone needs to do a montage of all Taylor's exes going back to her teen years...from Patrick Schwarzenegger to Jake Gyllenhaal to Joe Jonas and the beat goes on. There used to be a name for women like her. Now she's idolized by young pre-teen girls and their mothers. I'm not so sure of Kelce's Mom though. She seems a bit embarrassed by it all.

I would guess that most L-dotters are members of the older generation, like me. You should be on the lookout for signs that your grandkids are influenced by the pop culture and do your best to inculcate basic American values and offset that culture they are picking up in public school and college. I avoid discussing particular candidates and tell my grandkids to always vote for freedom. Keep the lesson short, in a soundbite. That will stick with them longer and may one day influence them to move to the conservative side. Always choose freedom.

Does Joe Biden's climate czar, John Kerry, ever listen to himself? He made this dunderheaded speech at the World Economic Forum, unwittingly contradicting himself as he sought applause from the elites. (X) So "farms" need to be restricted according to the green agenda, which as any Dutch farmer can tell you, means shut down -- or else people will die, presumably of starvation since he said "people will go hungry." Fewer farms, all to prevent people from going hungry. Does this clown know where food comes from? Does he understand that more production of food means more emissions of oxygen and less production of food means fewer emissions?

When I was in middle school, someone gave me a copy of "The Catcher in the Rye," which, depending on the national mood, has found itself on the banned list of various schools. The adventures of Holden Caulfield were interesting and entertaining. But more often than not, I found myself convulsed with laughter over Holden's observations about the world and the way in which he expressed them. I have often used the phrase "as sensitive as a toilet seat" to describe many people I have met. Moreover, Holden's problems resonated with me. Many young people, and for that matter many adults, can relate to Holden's inability to conform to the

China used to boast that this would be its century, but will there even be a China at the end of this century? The numbers are not promising. China’s population fell for the second year in a row in 2023, as deaths outpaced births in what was once the world’s most populous country. Chinese authorities see the declining population as an existential threat to its economic future. In 2022, China saw its first population decline since the 1960s, though it still had a population of 1.41175 billion people. China’s population declined for a second consecutive year in 2023, dropping by about 2.08 million to 1.409 billion people, the country’s National Bureau of Statistics announced Wednesday.

Throughout the Biden presidency, there's been a constant refrain that eliminating fossil fuels will solve all our environmental problems. A big part of that narrative is the push to encourage, cajole, and force everyone into buying electric vehicles (EVs). The disadvantages of EVs are obvious. They're more expensive than gas-powered cars and don't have a long enough range for traveling, but both facts are lost on the elite leftists who think that EVs are the answer to every question. The charging infrastructure is lacking, and it won't be sufficient to support extensive EV use for a long time. Remember Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm's disastrous EV roadshow

Just recently, ahead of the anniversary of Jan. 6, President Joe Biden gave a speech near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, to kick off his 2024 campaign. His theme was that the upcoming presidential election will determine whether or not America remains a democracy because a vote for Donald Trump is a vote to end democracy in America. Politically speaking, the purpose of the speech was clear. Given that Biden has among the lowest favorability numbers ever recorded for a sitting president, he cannot make the election about his achievements. Because he has none that warrant his reelection.
