Gimme a Break: Haley Claims That in the
South, She Was ‘Teased Every Day for
Being Brown’

Can Nikki Haley read the room? Apparently not. With the New Hampshire primary just two days away, on Sunday she played the race card in a big way, making outlandish and implausible claims about her youth in South Carolina. Whose votes is she trying to win? Those of patriotic voters who are thoroughly sick of charges of “racism” being used as a weapon or those of the entrenched Washington establishment that weaponized those charges? The answer isn’t even close to being in doubt. Haley came out big for identity politics saying: “We were the only Indian family in our small southern town. I was teased every day for being brown.

Comments:

The Babylon Bee's reaction to her ridiculous victim statements is priceless: “Nikki Haley Recalls Her Daring Childhood Escape From Slavery On The Underground Railroad.”

OH Gawd! I am sooo sick of the race card being played for everything from political, to get out of jail, to whatever the hell excuse and purpose is needed, out comes that card. I wouldn't have voted for Haley in the first place, but if I was I sure as hell wouldn't now, just because of this ploy. MAGA Trump for President!

I heard this yesterday. Give me a break. I'm of German, Irish, and Scottish decent, and this woman looks as white as I do. When you can't win any other way, try the race card. I guess when she finally goes down in flames, that will give her an excuse to just finally declare herself a Democrat

Nikki Haley must have lightened up a lot if she was "brown" as a youngster. She looks White to me and one would assume that if she didn't claim her Indian heritage. It is not an issue. Stop making it one and playing the victim. The people you are trying to get to vote for you hate this tactic.

Just as Casper is the only 'white' person we see, very few Blacks are actually 'black' as in deep black Nigerians. Most are some shade of black, brown, tan, taupe etc. In fact some were described---in the racist South, as 'high yaller'. Consider the movie 'Pinky' for instance. Jeanne Crain played the title character. She wasn't Black...didn't need to be. As for Indians, Raj Khoothrappali thinks he's delicious caramel, like Halle Berry. Nutty Nikki is grasping at straws. She will need one as a breathing tube.

That is an exaggeration/lie that befits Kamala Harris. One reason the Indian community has been so successful and are the highest earning community in the US is because they hit the ground running when they came to this country and didn't have time for race based victimhood. When Bill Clinton was visiting India in the 90s, the Indian Prime Minister took him to Bangalore which was then a budding software center. The PM said to him "We want to make this the next Silicon Valley"" To which Clinton answered "Who do you think started the first one"?

I dont believe it. She's pretty. Pretty girls get a pass on almost everything. So unless her personality was more abrasive than sandpaper, she wasn't teased about anything. Try being the fat kid or the short kid or the poor kid or the dumb kid. Thats when you get teased.

I was a Black boy who was teased by other Black boys and girls from 4th grade until 8th grade for "acting White." All because I got good grades, spoke clearly, respected my teachers, treated other students with kindness and respect and I loved comic books. I could draw so I won over one bully by drawing a picture of his favorite singer Stevie Wonder. That's another story. Nikki was pretty when she was in school, so I doubt that she got teased. I know for a fact she never got hit with a dodge ball "below the belt" causing instant reflex to the fetal position. All because I was making one of my bullies look bad in 6th grade gym class. If she was teased, I feel her pain. However, it doesn't mean that she should be my President.

Teased over epidermal hue? More likely because she smelled funny... Indians(dot not feather) stood out during that time due to diet, spices, and households that favored incensed airs. In Ohio at that time my father was Chief of Pediatric Residents at a medical college, and practiced at several Hospitals...LOTS of Indian and Pakistani students and Doctors, and their families. It was much the same in Oklahoma where we lived before Ohio. The women stood out because of their Fashion sense, "Eastern" clothing cues were all the rage, madras, paisleys, bright colors, silks, scarves,as belts and neck wear,...Nehru collars. My mother had a favorite party outfit that was a combination of Indian and Indonesian, Her Sari/Sarong Number.

Haley, your claim of being a little "brown" sounds like what Elizabeth Warren pulled when she proclaimed her supposed native American roots. Did you get that from a spit sample you sent to Ancestry.com? Give it up, Haley. Pulling a fast one like this won't get you anywhere. But perhaps the dims enjoyed your little identity politics charade.

If she was Irish, I might believe her ancestors had a tough time coming to this country. The Irish were considered lower than slaves. Slaves were valuable and cost money. Irish were expendable. It's why the Irish brigades during the Civil War were always sent into the toughest situations on a battlefield.

Like Alice dropped into an illogical world, I’m looking at the past week and seeing a chaotic, topsy-turvy, irrational series of policies, events, and outcomes. There are many possible examples to choose from. I’ve chosen four: The open border, the inexplicable disparities in the handling of crimes by Democratic district attorneys, the Administration’s song and dance with Iran and UNRWA, and China, and there’s a degree of overlap in some of these.

Meanwhile, nearly 60 percent of registered voters have the exact opposite opinion, reporting the United States has too much top-down control, limiting liberty. The study from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity found ruling class opinions on climate policies were particularly harsh and despotic. COLUMBIA, S.C. — President Joe Biden easily won South Carolina’s Democratic primary on Saturday, clinching a state he pushed to lead off his party’s nominating process after it revived his then-struggling White House bid four years ago. Biden on Saturday defeated the other long-shot Democrats on South Carolina’s ballot, including Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips and author Marianne Williamson. His reelection campaign invested heavily in driving up turnout in what it saw as a test drive of its efforts to mobilize Black voters, a key Democratic bloc central to Biden’s chances in a likely November rematch against former President Donald Trump.

By combining radical forms of civil disobedience with more mainstream actions, such as lobbying and state-sanctioned demonstrations, activists not only grab the public’s attention, they make less aggressive tactics more acceptable and possibly more successful. I study the role of disruptive politics and social movements in global climate policy and have chronicled the ebb, flow and dynamism of climate activism. With today’s political institutions largely focused on short-term desires over long-term

Much journalism these days is filled with fear, a genre made by the paranoid for the paranoid. A friend sent me Victor Davis Hanson’s recent X post about the lawsuits faced by President Trump, the corruption of the judicial system, the desperate straits he is in. (Snip) But he’s wrong. All those lawsuits foundered this week, a mere week later. And wrong are all the other catastrophists. The entire world is on the move, literally. It’s on fire. There are 100 million fire ants on the move. We are setting the agenda now, not them.

Apparently the Lawfare crew have been working and coaching overtime to give Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold a framework to explain to the Supreme Court how Colorado’s very specific election laws allow for presidential candidates to be disqualified despite meeting all constitutional requirements. State Solicitor General Sharon Stevenson would be the legal mind representing Jena Griswold. This should be an interesting attempt. Griswold asked the Supreme Court for 15 minutes to explain how Colorado law supersedes the U.S. Constitution. In an order announced earlier today [pdf here], the court has granted Ms. Griswold 10 minutes to make her case. The oral arguments will take place on Thursday,

Thomas Lifson recently wrote about In-N-Out Burger and Denny’s fleeing Oakland, California. Crime became so constant and blatant it was too dangerous for employees and customers. At the In-N-Out, criminals were going from car to car in the drive-up lane, robbing customers as they waited for their orders. This kind of wanton, and unrestrained criminality isn’t limited to California. It’s everywhere Democrats/socialist/communists rule, places across the country like Boston: Walgreens was accused of "racial discrimination" by a Democratic lawmaker in Massachusetts after the pharmacy giant closed another location in Boston.

It’s election season and the talking heads are all singing the “this will be the most important election of our lifetime” chorus -- for real this time. While this year’s election will certainly be important, I’d argue that 2008 was the most important election in our lifetime. That’s the year in which we were offered a fork in the road, and we chose the “fundamentally transform America” left turn. We’ve just been looking for the “transform it back” off-ramp ever since. However, I am willing to say that 2024 is likely to be the most dangerous election in our lifetime.

Police officers and other critics are slamming Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg for refusing to seek bail for the rowdy migrants arrested after allegedly being caught on camera attacking NYPD cops in Times Square. Veteran police officers fumed to The Post Saturday that Bragg made a mockery of the entire justice system by letting five migrants walk after they were arraigned Wednesday on charges of second-degree assault on a police officer and obstruction of governmental administration in the shocking Jan. 27 beatdown.

Cori Bush could be on the hook for many crimes as the Justice Department continues its investigation into her alleged misuse of over $750,000 in campaign funds for personal security. The progressive Squad member spent thousands on security services out of her campaign account since getting elected in 2020. That includes over $120,000 to her husband Courtney Merritts, according to her most recent campaign filings, who she married in February 2023. Kendra Arnold, executive director for ethics watchdog the Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust (FACT) told DailyMail.com that 'a host of other possible charges' for Bush are possible.
