The Democrats Gave Us Today's Inflation

The grocery receipt is where inflation arrives. It is not where inflation begins, and any politician who tells you otherwise is either innumerate or lying. For millions of Americans, the economic debate has been reduced to terms even Washington cannot obfuscate: the price of food, the mortgage nobody can qualify for, the insurance premium that arrives like a subpoena. The distance between a paycheck and the obligations waiting for it has been shrinking for four straight years while the people responsible insisted everything was fine. It was not fine. The reason has a name, a date, and a price tag, all of which the last administration would prefer you forget.

I shop for our church's food pantry. Prior to Biden's term in office, I had no problem purchasing what we needed without breaking the budget. Now every time I enter the store, I see higher and higher prices and wonder how low income people can even survive. Then I remember that the low income folks had been wiped out by Biden's 20% cumulative inflation and are sleeping in their cars or on their neighbor's couch.

Congress is to blame for where we are, both sides of the aisle. Ultimately it’s their job to control spending and have done little to do so. Biden and the Dems certainly hastened the predicament we’re in but it was inevitable. And the worse is yet to come, it’s just a matter of when.

They never learn. And they never stop hating you. In a move that proves once again that the D.C. Establishment is completely terrified of the America First agenda, RINO Senator John Thune, Mitch McConnell’s hand-picked Swamp successor, has just pulled one of the most underhanded, backstabbing maneuvers in Senate history. Instead of doing the work of the American people, “Useless” John Thune is sending the United States Senate home for a massive, unearned 37-DAY VACATION. But it gets worse. Much worse. Thune isn’t just going on vacation. He is purposely scheduling 11 fake, “pro forma” sessions during the break.

Establishment Democrats have reportedly been pressuring the family of Alani Bankhead in order to push her into dropping out of the Montana Senate race so independent Seth Bodnar can step in.“Independent Montana Senate candidate Seth Bodnar could withdraw from the state’s U.S. Senate race before the Aug. 10 filing deadline if Democrat nominee Alani Bankhead remains on the ballot,” said the report. “Republican strategists and political operatives told Breitbart News that Bodnar’s campaign has struggled to gain traction despite spending by both the campaign and an allied super PAC,” it added. Over the weekend, NPR noted that Democrats have—

After last Tuesday's primary contest in Michigan, where Marxist/Islamist candidate Abdul El-Sayed won the Democrat nomination for U.S. Senate, there was much prognostication. It was a race barely won, and if it had not been for a third candidate, who had since dropped out, El-Sayed would probably not have been successful. It was certainly not the supposed blowout that everyone had predicted for the Democratic Socialists (Marxists) of America-supported candidate. However, the real story behind that race, which has been a consistent theme, is that black Democrat voters do not want to be the "useful idiots"

I did not know this until I saw it mentioned on X (formerly Twitter). When a company hires J1 student temporary or season employees, they do not have to pay the 7.5% FICA or Social Security tax on the wages. If a company hires a seasonal American student, they have to pay the 7.5%. If the company hires a foreign student, they don’t. This creates a perverse incentive for private equity firms, companies or corporations to hire foreign seasonal workers. This is true, I checked it out. Apparently, this is now the common approach within the hospitality industry to save money and increase profit from payrolls. Unfortunately,

Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan, said Sunday he has spoken with Barack Obama and hopes the former president campaigns with him as the party tries to unite after a bitter primary that exposed deep rifts between its progressive and moderate wings. El-Sayed said his Friday conversation with Obama was “really warm and inspiring.” The candidate did not provide details. “I was grateful for his advice. It was very warm, very inviting, and I know that he knows the critical role that Michigan is going to play,” El-Sayed told NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Asked if he would like to see Obama come —

Blaming the Jews is the easiest game in town. Professor Gad Saad has publicly announced his move from Canada to the United States to teach at Ole Miss. He has pointed out that his exit tax is very high and he is leaving behind a country in which he and his family have lived for decades. He has also made it clear that Canada will no longer support its Jews. He recently posted on X that Canadian politicians perform some simple math and realize that there are more Jew haters than Jews, so it’s in their interest to abandon the Jews to their fate and keep their electoral prospects alive.

Article III of the Constitution allows Congress to establish courts below the Supreme Court, which includes federal District and Circuit Courts. If Congress can establish them, it can abolish them. In 1801, in the waning days of John Adams’ presidency Congress did just that and abolished the district and circuit courts of the District of Columbia. These two courts display widespread intransigent partisanship and demonstrably poor scholarship, exemplified by this week’s ruling on the new White House construction. Given the difficulty of removing so many bad judges in these two courts by impeaching them, it’s time to repeat John Adams’ move: Abolish these courts.

Social Security: Who Represents the Beneficiary? 11 replies

The reality of the Social Security system and laws is that the system design is fundamentally and fatally flawed. Unless we fix the design flaws, any other changes to the system are purely cosmetic and doomed to perpetual tinkering, temporary fixes, and eventual failure. We will have failed our younger citizens by failing to address the flaws. The options are painfully simple. Do nothing, which our federal government has done well since the program's inception, or truly fix the system. The crux of the problem is that the Social Security system was never structured to keep the beneficiary front and center of every investment decision.

It's hard for me to believe that the Democrats might run Kamala Harris for president again after her campaign was such a disaster in 2024. Not only did President Donald Trump clean her clock, even getting more of the popular vote, but he also beat her in all the swing states. Plus she spent and lost a ton of money in a futile cause, by some estimates, $1.5 billion over the course of an abbreviated campaign. Polls have her up for 2028, though, so I'm all in for it. That should be great fun to watch her go down in flames again. It does sound like she's gearing up

Rush Limbaugh had a saying to explain how he would drive a point home about the left that perfectly applies to what we’re seeing in the WNBA today. He said that sometimes you have to illustrate the absurd through absurdity. In other words, you have to take the left’s premise to its ultimate conclusion to more fully see just how messed up it is. That would be a perfect description of how the WNBA is totally blowing its current men-in-women's-sports crisis. My colleagues David Manney and Robert Spencer both wrote separate stories about this trend, which is getting increasingly absurd: We now have former NBA stars declaring their intent

One of the nation’s top sports chronicles, Sports Illustrated, is under fire for pushing out a headline insisting that WNBA star Sophie Cunningham deserved to be bashed in the face on the court because of her support of women-only sports. The outrageous SI headline came after Cunningham suffered a fragrant clothesline foul on Saturday, when Chicago Sky player DiJonai Carrington smacked Cunningham in the face while attempting to block Cunningham’s shot. Carrington was handed a flagrant 2 foul for sending the Indiana Fever’s Cunningham smashing to the floor during her successful layup in the first quarter of Saturday’s game.

Organ donation is one of the most selfless decisions a person can make. A family, often gutted by grief, chooses to turn devastating loss into a lifeline for a complete stranger. The whole thing runs on trust. Trust that doctors will treat their loved one with dignity. Trust that every ethical safeguard stays in place. Trust that nobody gets declared dead before they actually are. For years, the organizations responsible for managing this process — organ procurement organizations, or OPOs — have operated as regional monopolies with almost zero accountability.

President Donald Trump has played tough with Iran, using the U.S. military to punish that nation’s Islamist regime when it stops talking, and calling off hostile actions when Iran returns to the negotiating table. After five months of this pattern, Americans’ support for U.S. attacks on Iran is lukewarm at best, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. For the August online national I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from July 28 to Aug. 1, 1,463 adults were asked: “Do you support or oppose U.S. military action against Iran?” The poll’s margin of error is +/-2.9 percentage points. A total of 42% said they supported military action either “strongly” (22%) or “somewhat,”

Whatever in the world possessed Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger's staff to think this was a good idea? For some inexplicable reason, they scheduled the Democrat to appear at a Saturday fiddlers convention in rural southwest Virginia. Needless to say, this was not her crowd, and they let her know it. The setting was Galax, Virginia, a small independent city in the Blue Ridge Highlands of Southwest Virginia, located very close to the North Carolina line. It's been called the “gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains," and its identity has deep ties to old-timey Appalachian bluegrass music.
