A Senate committee on Aug. 6 voted to hold Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), in contempt of Congress. The Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs voted 8–5 along party lines. All Republicans voted to hold Fauci in contempt, contempt. "Thursday’s vote comes a day after The Wall Street Journal reported that a Senate subcommittee chaired by Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., obtained a copy of Fauci’s cellphone from when he worked as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The acquisition could shed more light on the former health official’s communications throughout the devastating lockdown years." https://thefederalist.com/2026/08/06/senate-committee-holds-fauci-in-contempt-for-refusing-to-answer-for-covid-lies/

I watched as much as I could stomach, then for the good of my health, I switched over to DVR'd Hogans Heroes. That being said, I was truly disappointed watching Sen. Fetterman (d-PA) during the votes on stalling motion after stalling "motion" by the demonrats...he looked like a scolded puppy with his tail between his legs but he still voted in lock step with his "party" So much for his praise as one of the few sane voices of the demonrats.

I expect nothing less from the Dems who voted against the contempt charges. Did their blue states do any better during Fauci's covid? Did their constituents not lose their jobs and businesses? Were churches allowed to have regular services? Were military people from their states not be forced to take the jab or be discharged? Completely vile.

I’m just making a note on this story because it seems to align with other events in the ongoing Ukraine vs Russia narrative assembly, recently discussed. The initial story, usually the most accurate {source}, stated that at an area within the Leipzig/Halle Airport complex in Germany, a small tour group noticed a drone flying low to the ground in/around the area where cargo planes are located. Leipzig is used by NATO as a cargo airport to deliver weapons. The driver of the bus got out, pushed the drone to the ground and called airport authorities to notify them. The drone was located near the area where two Ukrainian Antonov aircraft

Voter files in Maricopa County, Arizona, were obtained illegally before the 2020 presidential election, according to records released on Aug. 6 by the White House. Authorities discovered that 633,000 voter files had been exfiltrated from the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office just before the election, according to logs from the U.S. intelligence community and other documents. The voter files contained information such as people’s names, birth dates, and addresses. About 930 of them included information on people such as domestic violence victims, judges, and law enforcement officers. The files were illegally extracted from the office, the FBI said in a document opening an investigation

A resolution the Senate is scheduled to vote on this week states that Dr. Anthony Fauci’s repeated invocation of the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination during Congressional testimony did not apply because the conduct he was questioned about occurred during time covered by a preemptive pardon given to Fauci in 2025 by outgoing President Joe Biden. Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984 to 2022, read an opening statement during the July 29 hearing before saying, in answer to every single question, he was invoking the Fifth Amendment. Even after Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), chairman of the panel before which Fauci appeared, told

When Texas Children’s Hospital’s “detransition clinic” opens in Houston, it will become the first facility of its kind, giving patients who regret life-altering procedures a chance at restorative care. The facility, which has yet to announce an opening date, is part of an agreement with state and federal authorities to halt “gender-affirming care” at children’s hospitals while offering help to those who transitioned medically. A 10-page settlement term sheet, recently obtained by The Epoch Times through an open records request to the Texas attorney general’s office, showed that services at the clinic will focus on multidisciplinary care.

Renowned wildlife biologist Forrest Galante erupted during an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, accusing Bill Gates and his foundation of helping destroy one of Africa’s most important freshwater fisheries through a disastrous mosquito-net program. Galante said the foundation distributed millions of tightly woven nets across communities near the Cahora Bassa Delta to combat malaria. However, starving residents used the nets to catch fish instead. Because mosquito nets contain extremely small holes, Galante said they indiscriminately captured juvenile fish before they could mature and reproduce, devastating a fishery relied upon by millions of people.

Old habits die hard. At least that is the case for our Supreme Court’s Justice Neil Gorsuch, who persists in repeating the erroneous narrative that America was founded as religiously neutral. In a July 24th interview with PBS’ Margaret Hoover, Gorsuch gave his interpretation of the American founding, denying America was founded as a Christian nation: “We were never supposed to be a nation that was about one race or one religion … It was about those ideas [in the Declaration of Independence] … We have a First Amendment, for crying out loud. No established religion.”

However, I don’t see that amnesty aspect as part of his commentary. On the illegal alien workers, I structurally disagree with every single person who have used that argument for the past 20 years. We do not need illegal alien workers, not even in the agricultural sector. The illegal farm worker argument is a ruse, created by Big Ag, and promoted by smaller Ag to protect their bottom line and themselves from criticism.

El-Sayed has denied that he is a socialist, but he’s attended and spoken at at least six DSA events over the years, according to Fox. “I’m not technically or practically DSA,” he claimed in an interview last month. “I am not somebody who is a socialist.

The Food and Drug Administration on Wednesday approved the U.S.’ first flu shot that uses mRNA technology: mFlusiva, from drugmaker Moderna. The FDA granted approval for two age groups, adults 50 to 65 and adults 65 and up, on the condition that Moderna run an additional clinical trial in the older group, the company said in a release. In a late-stage trial, mFlusiva was found to be about 27% more effective than a standard flu shot. Many scientists and public health experts have touted the idea of an mRNA-based flu vaccine, which uses the same messenger RNA platform as the Covid vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer.

President Trump fired him. Comey's allies in the FBI opened a criminal investigation into the president for exercising his constitutional duties as Chief Executive of the United States.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s socialist dream of government-run grocery stores is off to a bad start. He’s already had to admit that customers will have to carry proof of residency to shop in them, that private companies — not the city — will run the stores, and that the first one won’t open for more than a year, and others not for three years. But Mamdani’s likely to face an even bigger problem if no legitimate grocer wants to get into bed with him. The “request for proposals” tacitly admits that his idea of government-run stores was stillborn, since he wants bids from private companies that have extensive experience

Socialists have won one Democratic primary after another this year. Of course, Democratic primary voters represent a thin slice, the leftward-most portion, of our electorate. Still, socialism as a viable popular movement in the United States represents a radical departure from our history. How wide is the appeal of socialism, really? Rasmussen headlines “Voters Overwhelmingly Reject DSA Policies,” and its findings are interesting. But while the Rasmussen survey tests four policies being advocated by the Democratic Socialists of America, socialism is not one of them. And I don’t find the results to be particularly reassuring:

Socialists think poor people have too little money, and rich people have too much. I happen to think the truth is somewhat the opposite. A big problem is that poor people in America have too much money despite their proven inability to manage it. Poor people consume monster meals and quart-sized sodas at McDonalds, lease gas-guzzling trucks that are too big for the road, buy lousy food that is too much for them to eat, and get 100” TVs even though there’s nothing on. But for purposes of the discussion, let’s accept the premise: Poor people have too little money.

Liberals are quick to blame forest fires on “climate change,” without any evidence as to how the conditions under which a particular fire broke out are different from those of last year or decades ago. In fact, acreage lost to wildfires is at an all-time low because of improved forest management techniques. Worldwide, acreage burned by wildfires is believed to be lower than ever before, including pre-human historical times. In the U.S., acreage burned is down by around 80% since the 1920s and 1930s, as the Healthy Skeptic notes: (Chart) The recent slight uptick is due, I believe, to the fact that California has turned forest management over to environmentalists,
