Liberals are quick to blame forest fires on “climate change,” without any evidence as to how the conditions under which a particular fire broke out are different from those of last year or decades ago. In fact, acreage lost to wildfires is at an all-time low because of improved forest management techniques. Worldwide, acreage burned by wildfires is believed to be lower than ever before, including pre-human historical times. Still, socialism as a viable popular movement in the United States represents a radical departure from our history. How wide is the appeal of socialism, really?

Something like 80% of Americans oppose allowing men to play in women’s sports leagues. That is, after all, the entire point of having women’s divisions and leagues–women play against other women, not against men.
For a sports organization like the Women’s National Basketball Association to come out in favor of allowing men (“trans women”) to play in their league is the height of perversity. If men could play in the WNBA, there soon would be no women left and no purpose to the league. When I was 18, a guy painting our house accidentally lost his grip on a can of paint, which then rolled off the roof and exploded on the hood of my already bedraggled, orange 1974 Gremlin X. No problem, it was an accident.
