Yes, Supreme Court, Please ‘Destroy

During oral arguments this week, liberal Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor told Solicitor General D. John Sauer, “You’re asking us to destroy the structure of government.” To which anyone following this case should say “Amen!” The case involves Trump’s decision in March to fire Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, a member of the Federal Trade Commission whom Trump appointed to the FTC in his first term, but decided that letting her remain would be “inconsistent with the administration’s priorities.”

Very powerful argument. The un-elected 'independent' agencies have become a fourth branch of government answerable to no one. They issue rules and regs by 'group think' - their own.

A government, which is not answerable to its constituents, is corrupt and malformed. It needs to be destroyed!! The object of the framers was for government to be servants of We the People. The people who followed them kept devising ways they could carve out power and enslave We the People. Such actions deserve nothing but destruction. The myth of a Ruler who had total power but works to protect those in his care is fleeting and destructive. Humans are mortal, and what one used beneficially, their successor will abuse to enrich himself at their expense.

Too many government agencies have become a power onto themselves. The bureaucracy needs to be accountable for its actions. Congress creating agencies that are accountable to nobody is a recipe for chaos and should not be allowed.

The Democrats have decided that “affordability” is the issue that will win the next election cycle. Are they daft? The most unaffordable states and cities in the country are Democrat strongholds. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, the Democrat from New York, one of the least affordable states in the country, has told party leaders they need “to adopt a laser focus on the affordability crisis,” says Axios. Politico noted that the “Democrats are gearing up to hammer the GOP on the issue,” then quickly jumped in to help, declaring that the “Republicans have an affordability problem.” Will the Democrat strategy work? Microplastic accumulation in the human body could be a serious health hazard, according to some researchers, and might be linked to cancer, heart attacks and other threatening medical conditions. We’ll never eliminate all microplastic from the environment, but we could significantly reduce the volume if we’d just shut down plastic recycling. A Stanford Medicine article says scientists estimate that “adults ingest the equivalent of one credit card per week in microplastics,” which sounds frightening, even though only a “few studies have directly examined the impact of microplastics on human health, leaving us in the dark about how dangerous they

Let’s get right into it, shall we? Attorney Gregory Joseph has filed a Petition for Postconviction Relief seeking to vacate the 2021 second-degree murder conviction of former Minneapolis Department Officer Derek Chauvin related to the death of pseudo-saint George Floyd. (News of which you certainly missed because, despite its sensational assertions, it was largely swept under the rug by legacy media.) Why now? As counsel expresses in a 71-page memorandum accompanying the petition, in the vain hope (to somewhat give away the conclusion here) that “removed from the hysteria of the day,” a court “can finally look at the facts

The global warming crisis blob is eager to bullhorn any scrap of “science” to scare the industrial West into surrendering to its agenda. But it turns out that when a much-touted report was slain by error, then the metaphorical crickets, not the ones the elites want us to eat to save the environment, are all that can be heard. A paper published in the science journal Nature in April 2024 was retracted this week by its authors because “the results were found to be sensitive to the removal of one country, Uzbekistan, where inaccuracies were noted in the underlying economic data for the period 1995–1999.”

President Donald Trump took another welcome step this week to free the auto industry from the grip of federal regulators who are largely to blame for the boring, homogenized fleet of cars that fill up the roads these days. On Wednesday, Trump released a plan to roll back federal corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standard to levels that won’t force Americans into electric cars. In what he’s calling a reset, the plan is to chuck the Biden administration’s fuel mandate – a mandate specifically designed to force car buyers into EVs. As the White House correctly put it,

Turns out that the left does understand the dangers inherent in a big central government amassing lots of information on private citizens. But, weirdly, only when it comes to protecting noncitizens who are here illegally. A story in Politico tells the tale of a nationwide license plate recognition system billed “as a program to root out criminal activity on local streets, with its cameras already installed in more than 6,000 municipalities nationally.” It goes on to point out that many blue cities and towns are cancelling their contracts with the program out of fear that “the cameras themselves pose the bigger danger for their cities, offering federal law enforcement

As December begins and 2025 nears an end, voters appear to be a lot happier with President Donald Trump than in recent months, with both his “favorability” and “approval” ratings climbing. Trump’s actions to promote peace abroad, build a stronger economy, and end the flow of illicit drugs across the U.S. border have struck a chord with average Americans. As it does each month, the I&I/TIPP Poll leads off asking voters the following question about presidential leadership: “Overall, is your opinion of Donald Trump generally favorable, generally unfavorable, or are you not familiar enough to say one way or the other?”

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season was going to be above normal. With less than a week left in the season, how has the forecast panned out? It was off by a bit – the storms didn’t develop as predicted, even though we’ve been told for decades that man-caused global warming was going to bring stronger and more frequent storms. In May, NOAA’s forecast called for a 60% chance of an above-normal season, a 30% chance we would see a near-normal season and only a 10% chance that activity would be below normal.

Say what you want about Zorhan Mamdani – and we have said plenty— but he may actually be smarter than every other leftist Democrat on the planet when it comes to President Trump. First, some background. From the moment Donald Trump descended the golden escalator in June 2015 to announce his candidacy, Democrats have been trying to destroy him. They’ve tried everything. A manufactured Russia hoax. Two impeachments. Countless legal actions and massive fines. Relentless name-calling. Two assassination attempts. Each attempt was more desperate than the last,

“Trump’s Truly Sh*tty Economy” – Robert Reich. That’s how the diminutive former Clinton labor secretary put it recently on his Substack page, and it’s the message Democrats desperately want every American to hear. We have an affordability crisis! Real wages are falling!! Trump is making it worse!!! The recent elections show the depth of despair!!!! It’s true that Americans aren’t particularly happy at the moment. The TIPP Economic Optimism Index (TIPP is I&I’s polling partner) is lower today than it was in June 2020, during peak COVID mania. And just 34% give Trump an “A” or “B” grade on his handling of the economy

After President Trump’s criticism of Somali abuse, triggered by reporting of massive $1B plus frauds conducted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center and other conservative media outlets, the media has rushed out more of these same stories about Somali accomplishments. But let’s look at some of the facts. Somalis are the second largest foreign-born population in Minnesota after Mexicans. 42% of Somalis fall below the poverty line. This is far worse than the 21% poverty rate for African-Americans or any Christian African immigrant population -

I have taught college sophomores whose knowledge of the Constitution’s basic principles far exceeds that of Jackson. An electric school bus burst into flames in Los Angeles on Wednesday morning, prompting a massive emergency response and shutting down a stretch of the 210 Freeway in Sylmar, authorities said. The fire was reported around 9:20 a.m. at 11460 W. Foothill Blvd., directly under the 210 Freeway overpass in the San Fernando Valley, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Sky5 was over the scene as heavy flames and thick black smoke poured from the fully involved bus. No children were on board at the time of the fire, officials said. The driver, whose age and gender have not been released, was transported to a local hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
