The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predicted the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season was going to be above normal. With less than a week left in the season, how has the forecast panned out? It was off by a bit – the storms didn’t develop as predicted, even though we’ve been told for decades that man-caused global warming was going to bring stronger and more frequent storms.
In May, NOAA’s forecast called for a 60% chance of an above-normal season, a 30% chance we would see a near-normal season and only a 10% chance that activity would be below normal.

It’s called the Maunder Minimum, comes every two hundred years. Bringing a mini Ice Age. Carbon fuels will be your best (and only) friend.

All that matters is the spin-spin-spin, so the fear-fear-fear cycle propagates, so there can be money-money-money paid to the predictors (and those of the proper political persuasion.)

I take the evening weather-guessers with a large grain of salt. In fact, as I'm sitting typing this, the sun is shining even though I'm told to expect horrendous thunderstorms at any moment.

Some of the named storms would have never been counted as tropical storms not so long ago. They were far out to sea, barely last a day or two, and satellite images were used to estimate winds.

No increase in global cyclonic activity since 1900.
So, a century and a quarter passes and NOTHING changed.
"Climate change" and MMGW are scams, frauds. They have no connection to actual weather or actual climate. The weather varies a lot, the climate slowly changes over centuries......but neither are affected by the activities of mankind.
Give it a rest, scammers.

I’ll tell you why there were no hurricanes in the Gulf this year. I live in the New Orleans area, and my next door neighbor installed an expansive whole home generator and started building a safe house many miles north of here so they would have a place to evacuate to with all the comforts of home. We both figured that this expense would keep our area hurricane free for a while.

This is what happens when hoping for the worst to boost business trumps real science and weather predicting.

Well, the storms were there, but for the most part, they all took a right turn and headed east.

Here in Florida we roll out eyes every year when NOAA and TV weather-rats say we're in for a bad hurricane season. They seem to be right about 50% of the time. Like flipping a coin.

LOL, #6! My parents had a similar reaction when, in the early 1960s, our next door neighbor built a fallout shelter in his side yard. It’s still there.

"Globally, cyclone activity has not increased over the last 45 years, and “the overall trend has been somewhat downward since 1990, with no real trend since 1970,” says Gosselin"
I assume this statement reflects data results that are reliable. No trend since 1970, i.e. over 55 years, should be sufficient proof that all the globull warming predictions are a fraud. Heat measurements are a fraud, completely invalidated by heat island effects and fudged data adjusted to get the results the zealots want. Ocean rise rate was been very steady, not increasing.
WHY do these Alarmist fools have ANY credibility left at all? Why do they still have jobs?

Yeah, #12. My Dad was very close to building a fallout shelter at our first house in the west Chicago suburbs near O-Hare Airport in Chicago. At that time, one could buy a kit to install in a basement space in the house. Basement room was optimum. But our first house was built slab on grade. So, he and mom saw the light and moved up north to Lake County to a house that had a basement level where they felt safer. By then, the Cuban missile crisis was already history so Dad built two more bedrooms and another bathroom downstairs. The second bath was a huge addition to the house IMO. Before, five of us kids, three of who were girls who spent their early hours preening themselves in the mirror before going to school, had to wait our turn in a one-bathroom house for years. Eventually, Dad made sure we knew why two extra bedrooms downstairs was better than a cheap air raid shelter that we wouldn't need.

Time to suck it up and for these guys to admit that the Gibbs Rule #51 was right. "Sometimes you are wrong".

So MANY great comments!
Does anyone ever recall a year that NOAA did NOT predict "an above-average hurricane season"?
As #2 said, they have to 'keep up the scare' to keep the money flowing.
Regarding #3, I read where a guy was dating a weather girl, as he wanted to be with a woman who was proven wrong half the time. (As for me, 39 years ago I married Miss Right, I just didn't realize at the time that her middle name was 'Always'.)
As #4 noted, before weather satellites how many of todays 'named storms' would have formed, then dissipated way out at sea without anyone noticing? Today we have the Warmistas watching every area of active weather, finger poised over the red button that says 'Tropical Storm!' ready to press it just the very first instance that the radar images show that the very minimum conditions for a storm have been met. Even if it only lasts 15 minutes, they crow and say "ANOTHER Tropical Storm!".
As #5 notes, the whole 'Global Cooling' -oops- 'Global Warming' -oops- 'Climate Change'- oops- 'ANTHROPOGENIC Climate Change' -oops- 'ANTHROPOGENIC CLIMATE DISRUPTION!' has been the biggest, most expensive SCAM in the history of mankind. Most of the people pushing it are Watermelons- Environmental extremist Green on the outside, hard Communist Totalitarian RED on the inside. It's not about Climate, it's about CONTROL- and with a nice slice of unearned Tremendous Personal Wealth on the side (see Al 'ManBearPig' Gore and John 'Lurch' Kerry, insisting we all ride bicycles while THEY ride around in Private Jets that were paid for by the American Taxpayers).
#6, Thank your neighbor for me. I'm about an hour east of New Orleans, on the north shore of Bay Saint Louis, MS. We were 'ground zero' for hurricane Katrina in 2005, I have the southernmost house in my neighborhood that was still standing after the storm. I was watching hurricane Melissa that tore up Jamaica this last October. If the weather front pattern had been different, we might have had it right here in OUR front yards! We were fortunate that this year all the storms made 'the turn' before they reached the US.
Hurricanes happen, always have, always will. That's the way it is.
