Pro 2 Customs, a holster and firearm finish/accessory company, announced Friday that it will no longer make holsters or “[provide] custom services” for Sig Sauer P320 pistols. They made clear their decision also includes the M17 and M18 models of the P320, both of which are designed for military issue. Pro 2 Customs’ announcement came just days after the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) made clear all AFGSC personnel are to pause use of Sig Sauer’s M18 pistol. Military.com reported the AFGSC’s pause on use of the M18 pistol came after 20-year-old Airman Brayden Lovan was killed by a “firearm discharge” Sunday at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. No details

It is the primary service pistol for the U.S. military.

I was thinking about buying the civilian version of the M18, but I’ve been hearing stories the past couple of months about these guns (Sig/Sauer P320’s) going off all by themselves. The latest story was about a P320 going off while still holstered on a police officer’s belt. This settles it. I won’t go anywhere near one of these guns. SIG needs to fix this ASAP, before their entire product line stops being boight.

The gun is made by New Hampshire-based manufacturer Sig Sauer, which is defending itself against multiple lawsuits alleging that the P320 pistol can go off without the trigger being pulled. The company has denies the claims, saying the weapon is safe, and has prevailed in some cases. https://www.wyomingnews.com/news/local_news/air-force-pauses-use-of-m18-pistol-after-death-of-21-year-old-airman-at/article_c0389562-a406-466e-a854-157a9bb7c7ed.html

A short travel, light trigger pull is wonderful, but without a thumb safety, it is iffy. There seems to something going on in the SiG320 that is not safe.

In addition to no thumb safety, no grip safety either. The Colt .45 had both. The military likes to say that safety is ALWAYS the number one priority.

I have a number of Sigs, all hammer fired, not striker fired. They have either a safety or a 10 pound pull on the trigger to fire when the hammer is down (double action). Striker fired is the newest innovation to give a consistent trigger pull that increases accuracy, but training can overcome the differences between the first double action trigger and subsequent single action 4 pound trigger pulls on a semiautomatic pistol. Catching clothing in the holster is a well known way to have a negligent discharge. A light trigger pull increases this possibility. When re-holstering my hammer fired pistols, my thumb is always on the hammer to insure it cannot move if something is pulling the trigger.

Mrs C bought his and hers 320s a couple Christmases ago. We have been very impressed by them so far, but they are range guns, not our carry guns. I prefer revolvers for that as they are safer, and when I do carry an auto the chamber is always clear. The only safety device I trust is me.

Not carrying a round in the chamber means that in an attack situation, with a semiautomatic, you have to rack a round into the chamber, which takes a second. That one second can get you killed. Bad decision for self defense. Always carry a round in the chamber. You may not have a second to work the slide. And I don't like revolvers for carrying, or for capacity. They work if you hit your target quickly. If not, you're dead, out of ammo. Fifteen or more rounds are better.

Various safety implementations are not solving the P320's problem, internals apparently shift allowing the striker to release. Sig has a huge problem here and it's name is on the line.

Thailand, Cambodia reach ceasefire deal
to end conflict that displaced 260K, Trump says

Thailand and Cambodia reached a ceasefire deal "through trade," President Donald Trump announced Monday, ending a burgeoning conflict that displaced 260,000 people. The declaration from Trump comes after he said over the weekend that he had spoken to the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand, urging a ceasefire, adding the U.S. would not get back to the "trading table" with the southeast Asian countries until fighting stops. The fighting began Thursday after a land mine explosion along the border wounded five Thai soldiers. Both sides blamed each other for starting the clashes that have killed at least 35 people and displaced more than 260,000 people on both sides.

A lot of things changed when President Donald Trump won his second term in November of 2024. One of those was the environment in which the mainstream networks and newspapers would have to operate going forward. Had Kamala Harris won the election, the status quo would have been maintained, but Trump coming out victorious took so much air out of the balloon, and we are starting to see the effects of that. The firing of far-left late-night host Stephen Colbert was probably the most visible example, but papers like The Washington Post can no longer afford to keep bleeding money either.

They never learn. It doesn't matter what accomplishments Donald Trump racks up. To his detractors, they'll always discount the good, magnify what they perceive to be the awful, and predict imminent doom for the entire MAGA movement.  Last week alone, the President had enough wins to fill presidential libraries of other presidents with four or eight years in the White House. On Friday, Trump addressed the press gaggle on the White House lawn before heading to Scotland for some golf (I'm reliably told they've played that game there for a long time) and to hold a few meetings. Some of the meetings were trade-related,

Fresh off his trade triumph at the EU, Donald Trump has now set his sights further east to Moscow. Thanks to his new agreement with the largest trading bloc in the West, Trump has already set Europe up to wean itself -- slowly -- from Russian energy imports. As Duane pointed out earlier, the EU has committed to purchasing $750 billion in American liquified natural gas over the next several years, which won't entirely replace Russian imports but should put a big dent in Vladimir Putin's income stream almost immediately.  After the most recent wave of attacks on Ukrainian civilian population centers, Trump expressed frustration with Putin and warned that he would accelerate

President Donald Trump announced a sweeping trade agreement with the European Union (EU) on Sunday, setting a baseline 15 percent tariff on European imports — including automobiles — while keeping existing 50 percent duties on steel and aluminum in place. As part of the deal, the EU committed to purchasing $750 billion in U.S. energy products. Trump announced the agreement during a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen after a private meeting at Trump Turnberry in Scotland. The EU will purchase three-quarters of a trillion dollars in U.S. energy, while also investing $600 billion into America on top of existing investments. Additionally,

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Eleven people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday — with six in critical condition — in what a Michigan sheriff said appeared to be a random act. A suspect was in custody, authorities said. Around 4:45 p.m., a 42-year-old man entered the store and used a folding knife to stab 11 people, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on social media. A sheriff’s deputy arrived within minutes and took the man into custody, and people in the store also helped apprehend the suspect and treat victims, the sheriff’s office said. The victims’ ages weren’t immediately released.

A Stanford University-led study estimates that COVID-19 vaccinations saved 2.5 million lives from 2020 to 2024, about 17 million fewer than earlier reports suggested, primarily among older adults. That’s the equivalent of one death averted for every 5,400 vaccine doses administered worldwide during the period, according to the findings published Friday in JAMA Health Forum. Official estimates say 7 million people died from the virus worldwide in those years. Led by three Stanford researchers, the study noted that 90% of the lives saved were among people 60 or older, and 82% stemmed from vaccinations administered before they tested positive for COVID.

Pinsker Law of PR #83: “Intensity” and “popularity” aren’t the same thing, but if you spend most of your time online, intensity and popularity become utterly indistinguishable. As such, you miss the forest for the trees. Most political reporters aren’t pounding the pavement anymore, knocking on doors and buying dinner for on-the-fence sources in seedy dive bars. That era of journalism is deader than the dodo. Nowadays, reporters live, breathe, and work online; their “sources” are the voices, texts, and emails popping up on their phones.

Democrats’ approval rating with registered voters has plunged to a 35-year low, while Republicans maintain an edge on most of the top issues Americans care about, a new poll found. A whopping 63% of registered voters view Democrats unfavorably, dramatically eclipsing the 33% who had a positive impression, marking the lowest rating they scored since 1990, according to a Wall Street Journal survey. That abysmal rating for Democrats comes against the backdrop of lackluster figures for President Trump and Republicans. Trump’s approval rating sits at 46%, with 52% who disapprove of the commander in chief. The figure is higher than this point during his first term, which was 40%.

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s anticorruption policies have already provoked Ukraine’s first antigovernment protests since the Russian invasion in 2022. Now, it seems, they may cost the country a portion of its foreign aid from the European Union, in a clear rebuke from the bloc, once a staunch ally. The European Union said on Friday that it would withhold 1.5 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, from an overall fund of 4.5 billion euros whose disbursement is dependent on achieving good governance standards and that can’t be used for military purchases. James Wasserstrom, an American anticorruption expert, said in an interview that “the luster is definitely coming off” Mr. Zelensky’s wartime leadership
