Democrats’ approval rating craters to
35-year low: WSJ poll

Democrats’ approval rating with registered voters has plunged to a 35-year low, while Republicans maintain an edge on most of the top issues Americans care about, a new poll found. A whopping 63% of registered voters view Democrats unfavorably, dramatically eclipsing the 33% who had a positive impression, marking the lowest rating they scored since 1990, according to a Wall Street Journal survey. That abysmal rating for Democrats comes against the backdrop of lackluster figures for President Trump and Republicans. Trump’s approval rating sits at 46%, with 52% who disapprove of the commander in chief. The figure is higher than this point during his first term, which was 40%.

Confirmation bias inclines me to believe this. But that's not enough to overcome my fundamental scorn for polls and their reports. Polls, schmolls.

What were the poll numbers the day BEFORE the prior two elections? Compare/contrast that to the only poll that counts....the actual vote numbers. Apply that same "Correction" to these poll numbers and it might actually mean something. That something is likely to be a Repub victory across the board....again..

That's is why the democrats are hell bent in letting illegals vote after making sure the illegals get lots of American taxpayer stuff and convince them that they are providing it.

DECERTIFY the Dem party as a recognized political entity. Remove Federal support and sponsorship from all Dem organizational and member activities. Remove tax advantages from party affiliates, and dissolve all ties to government programs. Take these actions on the basis of seditious activities, fraud against the American people, manipulation of electoral processes, violations of respective Constitutional oaths by the several individuals already identified, and attempted disruption of Constitutionally-mandated duties and powers belonging to a duly elected Chief Executive, all done by the Democratic Party and its leadership. Strip all Dem leaders of committee and departmental chairs, and, for that matter, seats in those bodies. Call for a Constitutional Convention of the States to work on changes to insure the integrity of party structures and practices, and of the electoral law under which they operate. Confirm once again for the doubters that this is a Nation under Christian principles, formed to protect personal liberty, thought, property and rights, and at the same time determine further punitive measures to be taken against seditious political interlopers who try to steal these things from US. Grand juries and indictments all around - show the world that America places supreme value on righteous behavior by its government officials toward ALL of its citizens, and that it holds its citizens' right to be governed in a free, fair and righteously Constitutional manner as a SACRED TRUST. Dem leaders themselves are on record as saying "Never let any good crisis go to waste." Well, here's a doozy of a crisis, just sitting there for the picking. Names, dates, events, clear crimes and misdeeds in plain sight. Violations of good governance, reputable behavior and the public trust abound. It's a great season for sunlight and disinfectant, so how about it, Repubs? Ms. AG Bondi? I think Mr. Trump has the stones for it... how about you?

The Dems allowed the radical left to capture their party. They got "too far over their skis" as skiers say about a fall. I don't have space to list all the things that turned off ordinary voters including antisemitism, trans obsession, immigration, throwing taxpayer money up a wild boar's a$$, etc. etc. etc. They are losing working people. I knew when I learned that all five of our little Hispanic maid service (legal) and the big black guy who priced our new Andersen windows were voting for Trump, I realized that the wind had changed direction. Where have the Dems like Hubert Humphrey, JFK, etc gone?

President Donald Trump announced a sweeping trade agreement with the European Union (EU) on Sunday, setting a baseline 15 percent tariff on European imports — including automobiles — while keeping existing 50 percent duties on steel and aluminum in place. As part of the deal, the EU committed to purchasing $750 billion in U.S. energy products. Trump announced the agreement during a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen after a private meeting at Trump Turnberry in Scotland. The EU will purchase three-quarters of a trillion dollars in U.S. energy, while also investing $600 billion into America on top of existing investments. Additionally,

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Eleven people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday — with six in critical condition — in what a Michigan sheriff said appeared to be a random act. A suspect was in custody, authorities said. Around 4:45 p.m., a 42-year-old man entered the store and used a folding knife to stab 11 people, the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement on social media. A sheriff’s deputy arrived within minutes and took the man into custody, and people in the store also helped apprehend the suspect and treat victims, the sheriff’s office said. The victims’ ages weren’t immediately released.

A Stanford University-led study estimates that COVID-19 vaccinations saved 2.5 million lives from 2020 to 2024, about 17 million fewer than earlier reports suggested, primarily among older adults. That’s the equivalent of one death averted for every 5,400 vaccine doses administered worldwide during the period, according to the findings published Friday in JAMA Health Forum. Official estimates say 7 million people died from the virus worldwide in those years. Led by three Stanford researchers, the study noted that 90% of the lives saved were among people 60 or older, and 82% stemmed from vaccinations administered before they tested positive for COVID.

Pinsker Law of PR #83: “Intensity” and “popularity” aren’t the same thing, but if you spend most of your time online, intensity and popularity become utterly indistinguishable. As such, you miss the forest for the trees. Most political reporters aren’t pounding the pavement anymore, knocking on doors and buying dinner for on-the-fence sources in seedy dive bars. That era of journalism is deader than the dodo. Nowadays, reporters live, breathe, and work online; their “sources” are the voices, texts, and emails popping up on their phones.

A bipartisan poll shows a dramatic shift in public opinion on the state of the U.S. economy, with a net 23-point swing toward optimism since April, an uptick that parallels renewed economic momentum under President Donald Trump’s policies, according to officials and market data. The Wall Street Journal survey, conducted by Republican pollster Tony Fabrizio and Democrat partner firm Impact Research, found that 47 percent of Americans now rate the economy as “excellent” or “good,” up from just 36 percent in April. Meanwhile, those saying the economy is “not so good” or “poor” dropped from 63 percent to 51 percent. The swing in public opinion

It's striking how similar NPR's situation is to that of Planned Parenthood. Both organizations have an affiliate model and both just had a lot of federal money cut from their budgets. That means both are now hoping to find new sources of funding to keep the doors open. The NY Times reports there has been an increase in donations to PBS and NPR but so far the amount isn't nearly enough to offset the cuts. Over the last three months, as the prospect of the cuts intensified, roughly 120,000 new donors have contributed an estimated $20 million in annual value,

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s anticorruption policies have already provoked Ukraine’s first antigovernment protests since the Russian invasion in 2022. Now, it seems, they may cost the country a portion of its foreign aid from the European Union, in a clear rebuke from the bloc, once a staunch ally. The European Union said on Friday that it would withhold 1.5 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, from an overall fund of 4.5 billion euros whose disbursement is dependent on achieving good governance standards and that can’t be used for military purchases. James Wasserstrom, an American anticorruption expert, said in an interview that “the luster is definitely coming off” Mr. Zelensky’s wartime leadership

The terror unfolded around 5 p.m. when the alleged 42-year-old male attacker began randomly stabbing shoppers with a “standard” folding knife in various sections of the big-box chain store in Traverse City, about 255 miles northwest of Detroit, Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea said. Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City Democrat mayoral primary marks a troubling shift in the Party’s relationship with Jewish Americans. Mamdani’s candidacy is not simply progressive—it is openly hostile toward Israel and indifferent to rising antisemitism. By nominating him, the party has endorsed a candidate whose record reveals not just poor judgment, but outright radicalism. After the Hamas-led terrorist attack on October 7, 2023—when over 1,200 Israelis were murdered, including children burned alive and women raped—Mamdani declined to offer a clear condemnation. Instead, he deflected by calling Israel an “apartheid regime” at a time when moral clarity was urgently needed.

Hochul, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries means they are fine with the fact that their party’s nominee to be New York City’s next mayor is a bigot. If ever there was an example of party loyalty being a vice and not a virtue, this is it. The silence is outrageous.
