Scottie Scheffler was detained by Louisville police and handcuffed by officers outside of Valhalla Golf Club on Friday ahead of the second round of the PGA Championship, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, who witnessed the incident.
Darlington said the scene involving Scheffler and the police unfolded “very quickly, very rapidly and very aggressively” on the ESPN broadcast.
Scheffler, 27, was booked before 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, according to the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections. The situation, which occurred around 5:45 a.m. in the pitch dark, was all due to a misunderstanding over traffic flow.
Scheffler was trying to get around traffic caused by a fatal accident involving a shuttle bus near the course.

Biden's Department of Health and Hunan Services suspended the non-profit research group EcoHealth Alliance from receiving federal funds. EcoHeath Alliance, under the leadership of Dr. Peter Daszak, is at ground zero of the lab leak theory of the creation of COVID-19. The suspension is merely an interim step until formal disbarment procedures get underway. Disbarment would preclude EcoHealth Alliance from receiving government grants or contractors or working as a subcontractor on projects with government funding. In short, if HHS makes the disbarment stick, EcoHealth Alliance will be out of business. While many of Daszak's employees may end up living in refrigerator cartons beneath an overpass,

I watch plenty of newscasts and opinion shows (in all my free time), and I’m used to seeing detached-from-reality takes from Whoopi Goldberg and the harridans on "The View," or nonsensical diatribes from Joe Scarborough and wife Mika—an odious pair who are disturbingly obsessed with their Trump hatred despite being extremely tight with the former president just a few years ago—or CNN anchors twisting themselves into pretzels attempting to defend Biden’s indefensible failures. But there’s another pundit out there who routinely drops lunatic commentary that makes you think, “How on earth did this guy get hired by a major U.S. news network?" His name is Lawrence O’Donnell,

Permanently aggrieved White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was questioned Tuesday by Fox News’ Peter Doocy on why Biden’s poll numbers are tanking and why enthusiasm for the president seems to be so low. At first, she feigned innocence—oh, whatever do you mean, everybody’s thrilled with his leadership, how could you say such a thing—but Doocy wouldn’t it let go and, as usual, Jean-Pierre flustered and deflected and blamed everything but space aliens. The one person who she never blames: Biden. The buck stops somewhere else with this crowd. Meanwhile, her truth-challenged predecessor is facing a battle of her own making:

I’ve never been to Red Lobster, but they’re everywhere, at least for now. It’s the nation’s largest seafood chain, and it got cooked over various factors, but one consumer deal appears to have been the straw that broke the camel’s back: the “all you can eat” shrimp deal.
The corporate brass thought this pitch could be the draw to turn around the chain. Instead, it cost them millions, leading to yesterday’s news that Chapter 11 bankruptcy is imminent and will be filed before Memorial Day. Hundreds of millions of dollars in debt are set to be restructured, with dozens of locations slated for closure (via WSJ): (X)

What do Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), and Presidentish Joe Biden's National Security Council all have in common?
One man: Maher Bitar.
Bitar has an impressive CV, including Georgetown Law, a degree from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service, and a Master's from Oxford. He's just the kind of person you'd expect to do well in Washington — and he has. Before I get to that, you need a little background on SJP and UNRWA.
SJP is an explicitly anti-Israeli organization founded in 1993 and "committed to ending Israel’s occupation and colonization of all Arab lands,"

You may have noticed the campus communist uprisings are fading into the background, at least for the moment. It was pretty clear that the entitled – and universally ugly – spoiled mutants (and their professional cadre organizers) were starting to get on the collective nerves of normal Americans, plus the Biden clique was already committing to betraying Israel in favor of the terrorists. The regime media has dialed it down as they served their purpose. But don’t worry – they will be back. Even when the protest tactics – encampments, blocking freeways, rioting – become counterproductive, they are still fun for the participants. Chicago is going to be lit.

Professor Bill McGuire is a well-known vulcanologist and climate scientist who doesn't care much for humanity. He tweeted out a scathingly brilliant idea if you're in the mortuary business or work as a grave digger.
"If I am brutally honest, the only realistic way I see emissions falling as fast as they need to, to avoid catastrophic #climate breakdown, is the culling of the human population by a pandemic with a very high fatality rate." https://t.co/hzga69EhV3
— Bill McGuire (@ProfBillMcGuire) May 11, 2024
Ooopsie. McGuire deleted the tweet a few hours later but had no regrets. The trouble is, we just don't understand how brilliant he is.

The news these days is too often bad. There is domestic unrest all over the United States; the Middle East is once again aflame, and Russia and China both are growing more bellicose by the day. Gas and grocery prices are up, interest rates are up, wages are stagnant, and it's raining out.
Now and then, though, a news item comes along that just makes one grin. In one such, we read today that Her Imperial Majesty Hillary I, Dowager-Empress of Chappaqua, has produced a Broadway play about the early 20th-century suffragette movement, called "Suffs" - and it's absolutely bombing: The Broadway box office numbers for the week of May 5

I always thought “ironclad” meant binding, but to President Biden it apparently means a pledge that’s good until it becomes politically inconvenient to stick to it. On at least two occasions he asserted his (and our) commitment to Israel’s defense was “ironclad”: “On July 18, 2023, seated beside Mr. Herzog. “And as I affirmed to Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu yesterday, America’s commitment to Israel is firm. And it is ironclad.” He reiterated this pledge last month: "As I told Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel's security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad - let me say it again, ironclad," Mr. Biden said.

Joe Biden used his interview with CNN's Erin Burnett Wednesday to announce that the US would cease supplying Israel with offensive weaponry if it launches its anticipated attack on the Gaza city of Rafah. (X) Biden said that the US remains committed to Israel's defense, just not to the extent of allowing it to eradicate terrorist strongholds that launched an attack on Israeli civilians. If Israel goes after the last remaining Hamas stronghold to eliminate the terrorist movement and free any hostages who happen to remain alive, Biden said, "we’re not going to supply the weapons and artillery shells used.”
Earlier today, it was confirmed that the

How many tall tales about his background has Joe Biden made up at this point?
There have been so many I long ago lost count. But there's generally a common theme: it's generally about pandering to whoever he's speaking to at the time.
So on Wednesday, as I wrote earlier, he told this wild story about how his "theology professor" in his Catholic high school was drafted by the Green Bay Packers because he was trying to appeal to the audience. (X) “My theology professor at the Catholic school I went to was a guy named Reilly — last name — and he had been drafted
