Senator Elizabeth Warren is sounding the alarm. No, there's nothing particularly unusual about that. Warren "sounds the alarm" on anything that disturbs the natural order of the liberal universe. But this time, she's on to something. Warren is warning about a "sandwich shop monopoly." It seems that Subway, the home of above average subway sandwiches, is being bought by the same company that owns Jimmy Johns and McAlister’s Deli, among other sandwich emporiums. Subway, which is family-owned, agreed to sell its business to private equity firm Roark Capital in a blockbuster (good name for a sandwich) deal worth $9 billion. Along with Jimmy Johns and McAlister's Deli,

Subway, Jimmie Johns are sub standard sandwiches by any measure. I have tried each and found both severely lacking i freshness and flavor. Give me Jersey Mikes or Firehouse Subs or better yet your local pizza joint or deli.

Nearby Subway went out of business. They were in the same plaza as a grocery store that made sandwiches. Everyone went there.

Wawa makes a better sub than Subway. There is nothing spectacular about a Subway sandwich, they are average at best.

don't like the subway bread...at all. I think it is made for people without teeth, or tastebuds. In fact, not even my dogs like it. (But I got spoiled living in San Francisco for a number of years, where good, crusty, fresh bread is EVERYWHERE, and often warm from the oven.)

Subway has a good, but not spectacular, sandwich. Not every franchise has the same quality control, of course. I couldn't get past "above average subway sandwiches," in the article. Somebody tell Moran that the shop is called Subway; but the sandwich has always been called a SUBMARINE sandwich. It's the typical shape of underwater boats, not transport tunnels.

Above average subway sandwiches? I’d like to know which franchise Moran visits as my experiences with Subway have been less than average. Way less.

John Kerry’s call to end all coal-powered electricity generation is “silly” and “self-destructive,” writes former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, and “makes the United States look delusional.” In his punchy essay, Gingrich insists that it is “not hyperbole or exaggeration” to call John Kerry “crazy,” since the word crazy means “marked by thought or action that lacks reason.” Mr. Kerry’s failing mental state was on full display during his recent “emotional speech” to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, where he made a plea to “end all coal burning power plant construction in the entire world.”

I’m not on TikTok, and I recommend you delete your account if you are (or your kid’s accounts, if they have them). If you don’t think you can live without it you can cut out the middleman and send all your personal data to the Chinese consulate (or reach out to Eric Swalwell’s office and ask for Fang-Fang’s number, same difference). But putting aside the communists who run it, there’s a big problem with the communists who use it – many of them are teachers, and a disturbing percentage of them are mentally unstable. This isn’t just about TikTok, it’s about academia.

During an interview on "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show," Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) delightfully dished out the details of how Gov. Gavin Newsom’s wife pulled the plug on their debate after both sides had agreed to continue the debate beyond its allotted time. “I guess we had already gone over the allotted ninety minutes, but it was fun and that was pretty shortly after I get the San Francisco poop map and showed that at everybody, and so that obviously was not a good moment for him, and so then we go to commercial break and then there was a woman that came out

According to prominent Republican legal expert Mike Davis, Special Counsel Jack Smith’s request for a Supreme Court ruling on Donald Trump’s presidential immunity is nothing short of “election interference.” As Hunter Biden is just starting to face comparatively minor consequences for his shocking crimes, and the media continue to cover for Joe Biden’s corruption, the aggressive and desperate lawfare against GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump continues. PJ Media previously published exclusive details on alleged severe ethical violations and deceptive practices from Justice Department’s Jack Smith and his team in prosecuting Republicans, notably former Rep. Rick Renzi and Trump. Now Smith, who has caused controversy

There Never Has Been a State of Palestine 6 replies

There never has been an independent, self-governed national entity called "Palestine." In Biblical times, the region now encompassing Israel was known as Canaan, which included the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. The term "Palestine" originally referred to a small area occupied by the Philistines (as one theory has it), from whence comes the name "Palestine." In Roman times, the area was known as Judea and was ruled by Jewish kings, and, under the Roman Emperor Constantine, became a Christian province generally known in Europe simply as "The Holy Land." The name "Palestine" was not legally applied until the British occupation starting in 1915.

As Cop28 in Dubai enters its final hours, the emotional weight of the moment is hard to bear. I find myself thinking of a six-year-old boy called Desmond I met in Turkana county, Kenya, who died from severe acute malnutrition on the same day. His death was the result of a climate-induced drought that has left millions of people on the brink of starvation in the Horn of Africa. I want the negotiators deciding the outcome of Cop28 to know Desmond’s story. Because in the end, the climate crisis is not about pledges, statistics, reports or activists. It’s about human suffering and ruined lives. It’s about death.

Ron DeSantis is running as the true-blue conservative in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. And he's learning the hard way that Republicans don't nominate true-blue conservatives. As Donald Trump leads every poll by double-digits, the Florida governor who seemed such a promising prospect just a year ago is now at risk of falling to third place. If Nikki Haley bests DeSantis in Iowa, his 2024 campaign won't be the only casualty; his hopes of ever becoming president will dim, and rivals won't fear him as they look to '28 or '32. How did DeSantis go from a 19-point reelection only a year ago to a fight for his political life today?
