Europeans and Pravda Media are trying to convince you that Donald Trump has abandoned a century-long commitment to the security of Europe (if you include our intervention in World War I), and our 3/4 century commitment to NATO. As I argued yesterday, that is a serious misreading of Trump's and his administration's criticism of European policies. As his National Security Strategy makes clear, the United States wants to help Europe recover its strength and civilizational vitality, and is unwilling to enable its suicide. Whatever you think of the National Security Strategy and/or Trump's well-deserved criticism of European leaders, POLITICO quite rightly points out

Know who wants to be the most powerful person in Europe? Putin. Trump and the US keep getting in his way. The left will continue to make Trump into a tyrant.

Trump and the American people should want to help Europe, we do not want to save them for the third time. It's getting tedious.

Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) said President Donald Trump does not “understand what it is to be an American,” boasting of his family’s military service and saying he feels “bad” for Trump’s supporters in an interview with Jim Acosta. Speaking with the ex-CNN host during a Wednesday virtual appearance on the Jim Acosta Show, Kelly went on a rant calling Trump’s presidency a “travesty for this country.” “I don’t think Donald Trump has read the Constitution. I think he’s ignorant to it,” the left-wing senator said. “He’s ignorant to a lot. I don’t think he understands that this is the foundation of our democracy.”

New CBS News chief Bari Weiss, whose center-left ideology is too far to the right for many of her employees, has done it again by naming a "mediocre straight white man" to anchor the division's flagship CBS Evening News. A report late Tuesday in the UK Independent claims that "many staffers at CBS News are not thrilled" with Weiss picking CBS Mornings host Tony Dokoupil to sit in the anchor chair. “It’s an insult to the storied news giants who came before him,” one CBS News reporter told the paper. If this were a stage play, this is where the script would indicate to the actor

It Sure Looks Like Obamacare is Rife with Fraud 14 replies

The new Washington Post editorial board continues to be a surprise. I suspect they have posted more right-leaning material in the past 3 months than was published in the paper during Biden's entire term in office. In any case, today the Post makes the case that Obamacare subsidies, the coming expiration of which was the stated reason Democrats shut down the government, should not be extended. Why? Because there is lots of evidence suggesting the program is rife with fraud. On party-line votes in 2021 and 2022, Democrats invoked the pandemic emergency to temporarily expand eligibility for Obamacare insurance subsidies. Preserving these credits, which are due to expire

What? Not Republicans pounce™? No seizing? No mention of dastardly GOP tricks? I hear you gasp in disbelief, and I share your pain amusement. But in this case, the Washington Post focuses mainly on the real problem, which is a state party that seems to believe it's in California rather than Texas. Here's the headline, in case an editor figures out a way to blame the GOP later today: They're not wrong, except in scope, which we'll look at in a moment. The WaPo assessment correctly focuses on the political ouroboros currently taking place as House Democrats play musical chairs with fewer seats: Democrats saw a potential opportunity in flipping Texas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A cadre of Texas Department of Public Safety troopers now stand watch over Texas’s most visited historic site. The Alamo Trust, a non-profit organization responsible for the daily operations of the historic site, transferred security responsibility to the troopers who have been in place since September. The move was mandated by Texas Senate Bill 3059, signed into law by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on June 20, 2025. Among other provisions related to the preservation and management of the Mission San Antonio de Valero, commonly referred to as the Alamo, the bill established the Alamo Commission, comprising state elected officials, including the governor, to oversee the historic site.

Loudoun County was hit with a Department of Justice lawsuit on Tuesday over its transgender policies, after the district suspended two Christian high school boys who expressed discomfort with the presence of a girl in their locker room. In March, a female student at Stone Bridge High School recorded a group of boys in the men’s locker room asking why a girl was allowed to use the boys’ locker room. Although recording in locker rooms is against district policy, the district opened a Title IX investigation into the boys, two Christian and one Muslim, and accused the two Christian boys of sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination.

Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett launched a campaign Monday for the U.S. Senate in Texas, telling President Donald Trump, “I’m coming for you,” and bringing a national profile to what could be a critical race for Democrats’ long-shot hopes of reclaiming a Senate majority in next year’s midterm elections. Crockett, one of Congress’ most outspoken Democrats, a frequent target of GOP attacks and a Trump target, jumped into the race on the final day of qualifying in Texas. She is seeking the Senate seat held by Republican John Cornyn, who is running for reelection in the GOP-dominated state. “As a candidate who is constantly attacked

COTONOU - Benin President Patrice Talon said on Sunday that the West African nation's government and armed forces had thwarted a coup attempt by a group of soldiers and vowed to punish them. Talon's announcement on Sunday evening came about 12 hours after gunfire first rang out in several neighbourhoods of Cotonou, the country's biggest city and commercial hub, and soldiers went on state television to say they had removed Talon from power. Forces loyal to Talon "stood firm, recaptured our positions, and cleared the last pockets of resistance held by the mutineers," Talon said in his own televised statement.

The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to hear the case over President Donald Trump's executive order directing federal agencies to interpret the 14th Amendment as excluding birthright citizenship to the children of illegal aliens and tourists, CBS News reported. Trump imposed the order as a means of combating the practice of birth tourism and the creation of "anchor babies", intended to present an obstacle to deportations. Thus far, the Department of Justice has struggled to defend the order in the lower courts and it remains unclear whether the conservative friendly justices will be more receptive to their arguments.

“Somali Immigrants Are Revitalizing Main Street America,” NBC News claimed. A barrage of similar stories hailed Somalis and other Muslim migrants for ‘transforming’ Middle America. After President Trump’s criticism of Somali abuse, triggered by reporting of massive $1B plus frauds conducted by the David Horowitz Freedom Center and other conservative media outlets, the media has rushed out more of these same stories about Somali accomplishments. But let’s look at some of the facts. Somalis are the second largest foreign-born population in Minnesota after Mexicans. 42% of Somalis fall below the poverty line. This is far worse than the 21% poverty rate for African-Americans or any Christian African immigrant population -

I have taught college sophomores whose knowledge of the Constitution’s basic principles far exceeds that of Jackson. Sky5 was over the scene as heavy flames and thick black smoke poured from the fully involved bus. No children were on board at the time of the fire, officials said. The driver, whose age and gender have not been released, was transported to a local hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
