I suspect they have posted more right-leaning material in the past 3 months than was published in the paper during Biden's entire term in office. In any case, today the Post makes the case that Obamacare subsidies, the coming expiration of which was the stated reason Democrats shut down the government, should not be extended. Why? My special needs son is 31 years old. He makes about 12,000.00 a year working part time at a grocery store. His Obamacare just went up more than 300% from 65.00/month to 265.00/month. I thought nobody was supposed to end up paying 25% of their income for AFFORDABLE Health Care insurance. Obamacare was designed to be a dismal failure. In that... it has succeeded.

No bugs but lots of features. The people who are making tons of money from obamacare are those in on the original design, the insurance companies and lobbyists. They are making legal money on it while those covered for free take every hangnail and sniffle to the hospital while paying customers don't see a doctor at all because the deductible is a budget buster.

Handy fraud spotter: when the people and businesses who SHOULD be negatively affected by legislation - in this case the medical workers, hospitals and insurance companies - meekly endorse that legislation then they have been promised a payoff or an oligarchy/monopoly. And now they have it.

It was a disaster just waiting to happen and the COVID boondoggle helped it along adding massive schemes for fraud. Problem is that it's affected so many the liberals set that up so bail outs will be required to cover these unfortunates who have to be shoved onto even massive medicaid programs the states have to administer.

It didn't fail for health insurance companies like United Healthcare. And I don't know how or why Congressional Republicans in both chambers can even be bothered to try and work with Dems to fix it, but of course, the lame stream media shapes the narrative that Republican want people to die. Aaarrgh.

New CBS News chief Bari Weiss, whose center-left ideology is too far to the right for many of her employees, has done it again by naming a "mediocre straight white man" to anchor the division's flagship CBS Evening News. A report late Tuesday in the UK Independent claims that "many staffers at CBS News are not thrilled" with Weiss picking CBS Mornings host Tony Dokoupil to sit in the anchor chair. “It’s an insult to the storied news giants who came before him,” one CBS News reporter told the paper. Europeans and Pravda Media are trying to convince you that Donald Trump has abandoned a century-long commitment to the security of Europe (if you include our intervention in World War I), and our 3/4 century commitment to NATO. As I argued yesterday, that is a serious misreading of Trump's and his administration's criticism of European policies. As his National Security Strategy makes clear, the United States wants to help Europe recover its strength and civilizational vitality, and is unwilling to enable its suicide. Whatever you think of the National Security Strategy and/or Trump's well-deserved criticism of European leaders, POLITICO quite rightly points out

But in this case, the Washington Post focuses mainly on the real problem, which is a state party that seems to believe it's in California rather than Texas. Here's the headline, in case an editor figures out a way to blame the GOP later today: They're not wrong, except in scope, which we'll look at in a moment. SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A cadre of Texas Department of Public Safety troopers now stand watch over Texas’s most visited historic site. The Alamo Trust, a non-profit organization responsible for the daily operations of the historic site, transferred security responsibility to the troopers who have been in place since September. The move was mandated by Texas Senate Bill 3059, signed into law by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on June 20, 2025. Among other provisions related to the preservation and management of the Mission San Antonio de Valero, commonly referred to as the Alamo, the bill established the Alamo Commission, comprising state elected officials, including the governor, to oversee the historic site.

Loudoun County was hit with a Department of Justice lawsuit on Tuesday over its transgender policies, after the district suspended two Christian high school boys who expressed discomfort with the presence of a girl in their locker room. In March, a female student at Stone Bridge High School recorded a group of boys in the men’s locker room asking why a girl was allowed to use the boys’ locker room. Although recording in locker rooms is against district policy, the district opened a Title IX investigation into the boys, two Christian and one Muslim, and accused the two Christian boys of sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination.

Talon's announcement on Sunday evening came about 12 hours after gunfire first rang out in several neighbourhoods of Cotonou, the country's biggest city and commercial hub, and soldiers went on state television to say they had removed Talon from power. Forces loyal to Talon "stood firm, recaptured our positions, and cleared the last pockets of resistance held by the mutineers," Talon said in his own televised statement.

ATLANTA (AP) — A federal judge has permanently ordered Georgia’s prison system to keep providing some kinds of gender-affirming care for transgender prisoners, although the state plans to appeal. U.S. District Judge Victoria Marie Calvert last week ruled that a new state law denying hormone therapy to inmates violated their protection against cruel and unusual punishment under the Eighth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. She ordered the state to keep providing hormones to inmates who had been receiving therapy and to allow others medically diagnosed as needing hormone therapy to begin receiving treatment.

Civil war and famine spurred many Somalians to immigrate to the United States in 1991 and settle in Minnesota. That was 34 years ago. Somalians could have assimilated into U.S. culture by now, but American taxpayers have been roped into funding programs that coddle Somalians’ Third-World culture and disincentivize their assimilation. The Somali population explosion has rendered parts of Minneapolis unrecognizable as they impose a decidedly non-American culture on every aspect of the city.
