Colbert Wants to Get Fired

Original Article

Colbert and his allies in the Pravda Media/entertainment complex--along with Democrats--are insisting that the former funnyman was fired at the behest of President Trump. The accusation is absurd. You can't lose tens of millions of dollars a year and expect to keep your $15 million a year job. The math doesn't work. But, as we know, propaganda works with people who want to believe it. All you need is an authoritative voice to say the most absurd things, and people inclined to believe it, will. Even many who do not start out believing it come to do so, based on the "when there is smoke, there's fire principle.

His show is a perfect example of how liberals view spending other peoples' money; His show as an oversized budget with a large staff, and with ColberT receiving a eight figure annual salary. The advertising revenue is less than the show's expenses by 40 to 50 million dollars per year. The network would be financially better off renting the airtime to an info-mercial with no expenses making the revenues all profit, or showing classic re-runs [Gilliagan's Island or I Love Lucy] which would have minimal expenses in royalties and probaby higher ratings. Yet, ColberT acts as if he is entitled to indefinitely continue a show that loses the Network $40 to $50 million per year, and it is somehow all the Network's fault and they are in the wrong. He has not offered to lower expenses or take a smaller salary or address the losses. He just expects the Network to keep losing a fortune every year because he considers his ''work'' to be so important. Results be damned.

When most employers fire somebody, they send security to stand by their side while they clean out their desk and then walk them to the exit. Letting Colbert finish out his contract till next year seems awfully stupid considering he has an electronic pulpit to whine from. Indeed, maybe he is hoping to be more immediately terminated and then get paid for doing nothing at all.

I don't disagree with the points in the article. Colbert will make out financially no matter what happens. He may continue his rants on a podcast. However, liberals are about ego even more than money. Making good money on a podcast has nowhere near the status of being the star of The Late Show on CBS. He will not be quoted in news stories so much for a podcast rant because being edgy is standard fare for a podcast. So his star is falling, even if he is still getting paid. And, over time, it is likely that people will get bored with him and he will fade away. In his well financed retirement he can gnaw old bones and hate Trump for getting him fired, a common delusion of obsessed liberals that have TDS.

“War is hell,” as William Tecumseh Sherman famously observed, but it is also theater. War is a staple of movies, literature, and religion due to its ability to encapsulate universal themes of good versus evil, courage, sacrifice, and the human condition. It is ubiquitous in human history. Who has not heard of the War in Heaven? War features in the Iliad, the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita, not to mention Shakespeare, War and Peace, The Lord of the Rings, and countless movies and drama serials. It’s definitely theater: ironically it's the history of our lives. Not surprisingly warfare itself employs dramatic devices. One of the oldest is performative cruelty.

The biggest news of the week was the release of multiple memos and emails relating to the Russia collusion hoax, and the DNI’s referral of such materials to the Attorney General for possible criminal prosecution. It remains to be seen how that will turn out, but in the meantime it doesn’t seem to have generated a lot of memes. Hunter Biden staked his claim to be the voice of the Democratic Party, and, as a profane, delusional crackhead, his claim is a strong one. And the Jumbotron seen ’round the world continued to resonate. But the story that gave this Week In Pictures its theme was CBS’s announcement that,

The press briefing at the James Brady room of the White House Wednesday was a real banger. Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, methodically walked through the House Majority Intelligence Report on the shenanigans we all had speculated about for the past eight-plus years and privately knew deep down. Gabbard had the receipts, and it wasn't pretty. For a little over ten minutes after Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt turned over the podium to the DNI, Gabbard detailed involvement of former President Barack Obama, disturbing information about the health, or lack thereof, of former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton,

Now, thanks to the New York Times, of all places, we learn that Joe Biden couldn’t even manage the task of signing his own name on pardons of violent and dangerous criminals, and at best, only knew of categories of those being pardoned. The Democrat party’s caterwauling over illegal alien roundups becomes only more shrill by the day. It’s always a bit jarring to see what card-carrying members of the Democrats’ premier virtue-signaling club will find worthy of their righteous indignation. But that is apparently exactly what he’s doing now, with the help of the California legislature—and Donald Trump’s special missions envoy is furious. Newsom had scoffed, “The claim that the Governor wants to bulldoze fire victims’ neighborhoods and replace them with ‘affordable housing’ is absurd.” But he just announced over $100 million for building low-income housing in the area of the Palisades and other burned areas, as a bill moves through the California

America is in crisis, with the left battling the ascendant right, a clash of visions between a socialist nightmare in which America becomes either a feudal, feral combination of California and a communist college campus or we re-make it into something like the glorious, golden country it once was. How does all this end? Leftists in America— and the Democrats are a leftist party that is eagerly embracing admitted communists— seem to be under the impression that normal patriotic Americans have no right to engage in their own self-governance. That’s unsustainable. We’re not giving up our self-determination. The question is whether America resolves this peacefully,

President Volodymyr Zelensky’s anticorruption policies have already provoked Ukraine’s first antigovernment protests since the Russian invasion in 2022. Now, it seems, they may cost the country a portion of its foreign aid from the European Union, in a clear rebuke from the bloc, once a staunch ally. The European Union said on Friday that it would withhold 1.5 billion euros, or $1.7 billion, from an overall fund of 4.5 billion euros whose disbursement is dependent on achieving good governance standards and that can’t be used for military purchases. James Wasserstrom, an American anticorruption expert, said in an interview that “the luster is definitely coming off” Mr. Zelensky’s wartime leadership

Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City Democrat mayoral primary marks a troubling shift in the Party’s relationship with Jewish Americans. Mamdani’s candidacy is not simply progressive—it is openly hostile toward Israel and indifferent to rising antisemitism. By nominating him, the party has endorsed a candidate whose record reveals not just poor judgment, but outright radicalism. After the Hamas-led terrorist attack on October 7, 2023—when over 1,200 Israelis were murdered, including children burned alive and women raped—Mamdani declined to offer a clear condemnation. Instead, he deflected by calling Israel an “apartheid regime” at a time when moral clarity was urgently needed.
