When City Hall Chooses the Mob

Original Article

In Seattle last weekend, violence broke out—not from the pulpit, but from the pavement. Pastors and churchgoers, gathered for a permitted worship event in a city park, found themselves besieged by a black-clad mob who attempted to tear down fencing, rush the stage, and shout them down. The attackers were not counter-protesters in any constitutional sense of the word. They were masked militants whose tactics have become a hallmark of Antifa: organized, aggressive, and aimed not at persuasion but suppression. To their credit, the Seattle police intervened. Arrests were made. Barricades held. For a moment, law reasserted itself in a city too long governed by hesitation.

The Counter Protestors wore helmets, masks, goggles and body armor. Appropriate attire for going to war or robbing a bank but not attending a public event of any kind. I don’t recall the first amendment including Kevlar and crash helmets. They should have been arrested for Threats and Incitement to Violence. It is a felony under federal law to engage in stalking which would put a person in reasonable fear of death or serious bodily injury or cause substantial emotional distress, when done with the intent to kill, injure, harass, intimidate, or surveil that person. Which was exactly what they were doing.

Antifa has functioned as the Left's unofficial enforcer in California, Oregon and Washington for over a decade. The only thing that was unusual about this instance is that the Seattle Police intervened in time to minimize the mayhem.

What the article doesn’t mention is that the Christian group had originally applied for a permit at a different park. That permit was denied and they were forced by the city to hold their rally at the park in an ultra-liberal area of the city, all by design.

Calling Pam Bondi! There’s another cleanup, this time on aisle Seattle. There’s enough discrimination present to give the mayor hell. And hell the mayor should get. I doubt I even agree with the group. I don’t have to agree. It’s called free speech. Those masked vermin? I don’t see how these cowards are allowed to conceal their identity like that. They all need to be brought up on Federal charges.

I am listening to Paul Johnson's Modern Times on Audible and his description of the Marxists under Stalin and the violence and murders they committed and the use of terror they used to enforce their "democratic goals." It sounds exactly like what the Marxists did in the 30s. They used violence and terror when they could not win the day with their arguments. Sort of like the fellow who was justifying doing illegal and undemocratic things because they believe the President is a "threat to democracy." So they would save democracy by destroying it and anyone who disagrees with them. That is exactly what Stalin did in the 30s and 40s. Read Johnson. Studying history has great value!

Pres. Trump will be getting his big, beautiful bill. It won’t be right away, but it shouldn’t be much past Labor Day. There’s a lot of handwringing and confusion over this bill by would-be deficit hawks, Elon Musk included. But I don’t think most of them have the foggiest idea what’s really happening. As Stephen Miller pointed out, Budget Reconciliation only allows changes to mandatory program spending like Medicaid. It isn’t an appropriations bill. What Republicans are trying to do with this measure is cut some taxes and peel back the huge enrollments in Medicaid the Biden people engineered the last few years.

Well, it’s been five years since the Saint George Floyd incident, and what have we learned? What has been done? I won’t bother to rehash who and what Saint George was -- that is readily available to anyone who cares to look. Suffice to say, the narrative isn’t remotely accurate. But with the Left the narrative is seldom accurate, as that isn’t its goal. It’s the emotional -- and manipulative -- storyline that’s important, not reality. I’ve been a management consultant for decades and in the course of my work I’ve been to some of the toughest neighborhoods in the country. Very few white folks have seen and been where I have.

Does America have a Muslim problem? 30 replies

In a brief return to Britain, I was concerned to see that London has undergone a dramatic demographic change. The city of my birth is visibly more Muslim than it was even four years ago. On the Tube, I saw more hijabs than baseball caps. The Muslim niqab -- with its full face covering -- is no longer rare. For decades, Brits have not been allowed to question the wisdom of importing large numbers of people into a western society who do not share western values. (Brits who do so on social media risk going to prison).

When the smoke was still rising from the rubble of the Twin Towers, the American people were reeling, grieving—and vulnerable. That vulnerability was weaponized. In one of the most cunning bait-and-switch maneuvers in modern history, our government handed us the Patriot Act—an Orwellian surveillance framework disguised as national defense. We didn’t just get conned—we got conquered. Not by terrorists from abroad, but by tyrants in suits. The Patriot Act was born less than two months after 9/11, passed with breakneck speed, virtually unread by the very members of Congress who signed it into law.

Judge James C. The case of AARP v. Trump dealt with one of the many attempts to secure via forum-shopping that which the far left could never achieve at the ballot box:

As you’ve no doubt heard, when South Africa’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, appeared in the White House yesterday, President Trump challenged him on the fact that South Africa’s white farmers are being targeted with a new land confiscation law, and are also the victims of targeted attacks, another layer of hazard in a land rife with violent crime. It’s for this reason that Trump gave visas to a paltry 58 white South Africans, sending the Democrats—the same ones who’ve been complacent as upwards of 32 million illegal aliens breached our borders—into paroxysms of race-based rage.

Trump selected Jeanine Pirro to replace Martin, who is now a pardon attorney and helming the Department of Justice’s weaponization task force. Martin is looking at Biden’s pardons, specifically the ones issued toward the end of his presidency. They might not be legal. It comes off allegations that Biden aides might have illegally used the autopen. President Trump has asked who was behind the autopen since it’s become clear that Joe Biden was not mentally cogent enough to know what was going on (via The Hill):

If Democrats in Vacationland thought the censure of Rep. Laurel Libby would put an end to the education policy debate surrounding Title IX—and the participation of biological men in women’s sports—they’ve misread the moment, misread federal law, and badly misread their voters. What was meant to silence dissent has only amplified it. What was supposed to end the debate has cracked it wide open. In March, I wrote about how Democrats’ schizophrenic treatment of women’s sports—both existential and irrelevant, depending on the news cycle—was a political liability that helped cost them the 2024 election. Today, in Maine, that liability is becoming a full-blown revolt.

Megyn Kelly was tough but fair. It was a reckoning that was long overdue for an industry that did work to cover up Joe Biden’s apparent health issues. The mental health scheme was something we’ve been saying for years. A minor fall—okay? But the incidents where Joe Biden exhibited signs of aging, dementia, and a degrading memory are too numerous. Something was wrong. We were right, and the legacy press was wrong. This is often the case, but this one was the equivalent of no one noticing the elephant in the room. No, it was knowing the elephant was present

WASHINGTON — A federal court on Wednesday blocked President Donald Trump from imposing sweeping tariffs on imports under an emergency-powers law, swiftly throwing into doubt Trump’s signature set of economic policies that have rattled global financial markets, frustrated trade partners and raised broader fears about inflation intensifying and the economy slumping. The ruling from a three-judge panel at the New York-based U.S. Court of International Trade came after several lawsuits arguing Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs exceeded his authority and left the country’s trade policy dependent on his whims. Trump has repeatedly said the tariffs would force manufacturers to bring back factory jobs to the U.S.

Some of the advanced weapon systems that allies have supplied to Ukraine during the 3-year war were subject to range and target restrictions — a fraught political issue stemming from fears that if the weapons struck deep inside Russia, the Kremlin might retaliate against the country that provided them and draw NATO into Europe’s biggest conflict since World War II.

HARTFORD, CT- Once again, Connecticut Democrats have come down on the wrong side of an 80/20 issue. Last week, the House Democratic majority advanced legislation that will force municipalities to abide by the state’s so-called “Trust Act,” which permits “any aggrieved person” to seek an injunction against a municipality or its agents, including police and school employees, that cooperate with federal immigration officials, the CT Mirror reports. The bill was revised after pro-illegal alien advocates argued that municipalities, i.e., police departments, can ignore the state law already in place that defines when police and others can alert federal agents to the location of

The Holiday weekend was merely a momentary pause — the calm before the chaos. Along with the unexpected news drop of Biden’s cancer announcement, Memorial Day didn’t avert the civil war. Cillizza shared the incident on his Substack, calling it yet another example of how the politicization of everyday life is “making us all crazy.” “So this is the first time I’ve experienced the sort of politics of Elon Musk and Tesla,” he said. But beneath his words was a deeper, more uncomfortable realization. Back when he bought his Tesla—a Model 3 purchased around 2019 or 2020—Cillizza assumed the real danger would come from conservatives.
