On Tuesday night, President-elect Donald Trump announced a slew of picks of those who will serve in his administration. Many of the names are familiar ones, and their roles are varied in nature. Included among them is Andrew N. Ferguson, who has been appointed to serve as the next Chair of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). "I am pleased to appoint Andrew N. Ferguson to be the next Chair of the Federal Trade Commission. Andrew has a proven record of standing up to Big Tech censorship, and protecting Freedom of Speech in our Great Country.

Comments:

Sounds like good picks from President Trump!!

Trump's daily tsunami of names for his administration serves to keep the Left continually off balance. By the time he's inaugurated his opponents will be too exhausted to object to Trump's nominees.

Trump Responds to Wray's Resignation 7 replies

President-elect Donald Trump, who hired outgoing FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2017 for a ten year term at the Bureau, is responding to news Wray submitted his resignation. "The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice. I just don’t know what happened to him. We will now restore the Rule of Law for all Americans. Under the leadership of Christopher Wray, the FBI illegally raided my home, without cause, worked diligently on illegally impeaching and indicting me, and has done everything else

We've known for years that the number of migrants entering the U.S. during Joe Biden's term was massive. New York Times reporters worked with government officials and outside experts to "analyze the magnitude of the recent immigration surge in the United States." The results are nothing short of mind-blowing. "The immigration surge since 2021 has been the largest in U.S. history, surpassing even the levels of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Total net migration — the number of people coming to the country minus the number leaving — will likely exceed eight million people over the past four years, government statistics suggest.

There are certain behaviors we should not tolerate from government officials, elected, appointed, or hired. We shouldn't tolerate any kind of criminal activity or graft. And we shouldn't tolerate petulant displays of childish pique. That last bit is precisely what we saw during a House Oversight Committee hearing on Tuesday when Postmaster General Louis DeJoy threw a tantrum (Snip) DeJoy told McCormick, “You’re talking to yourself” before covering his ears. What is this guy, 12 years old? I wouldn't have put up with this from my kids when they were three. Why should we put up with this from the United States Postmaster?

I love movies – there’s nothing like them for escapism and entertainment – but Hollywood is something else entirely. It is an orgy or narcissism and rape; casting couch feminists and private jet environmentalists. The extremely wealthy who set up “charities” named after themselves to filter income through to avoid paying the taxes they advocate should be raised on everyone else. They are largely hypocrites and just plain bad people. They are also destroying themselves, which is something worth noting and celebrating. Box office numbers and high-profile flops like the Joker sequel (did anyone need or want that?) are some prime examples of just how far down the toilet Hollywood has slipped.

We're now 41 days away from January 20, with President-elect Donald Trump once more taking office in just over a month. The Biden-Harris administration has caused all kinds of problems at home and on the world stage, in part because it's been so unserious in so many ways. That was perhaps no more on display than with a post over social media from the Department of Health and Human Services, one wishing people a "Happy Pansexual and Panromantic Pride Day!" The post goes on to add that on such a day, "everyone deserves to feel seen, respected and supported—no matter who they love"

There is a wonderful and salutatory effect to publicly posting a head on a pike for all to see. Now, after the hideous leftist celebration of the murder of that executive from an unpopular industry, it’s necessary – for the benefit of dumb and disingenuous people who will cry about this imagery – to make clear that this is not to be taken literally. It is to be taken figuratively. That is, we in the America First movement must figuratively post the head of at least one hack GOP establishment senator at the summit of Capitol Hill during the 2026 cycle.

Remember when Donald Trump held a big rally at Madison Square Garden, and liberals were so beside themselves that the only criticism they could come up with was that Nazis also had a rally in Madison Square Garden back in 1939, so Trump is literally Hitler? Well, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow may have topped that asinine comparison with a new one, and let's just say that when MSNBC goes under, the liberal host will have no trouble at all finding a new career as a roller coaster designer. I've never seen someone take so many twists and turns to get to a point.

Anyone who has voted Republican in more than one election quickly becomes familiar with feeling exasperated. GOP politicians have a history of not handling success well. I can't be precise about how long this has been the case, but this past spring marked my 40th anniversary as a Republican/conservative activist and it's been that way in all that time. Every once in a while a Republican politician will act like he or she won an election — Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and President-elect Donald Trump come immediately to mind — but it doesn't happen often enough. It is both mind-blowing and disheartening to see how the GOP behaves

The Georgia Bulldogs were struggling to get anything going against Texas, and there was little reason to be hopeful of a turnaround with their quarterback crumpled on the turf. Enter a guy who had barely played in his college career. FBI Director Christopher Wray plans to resign on or before Inauguration Day, according to recent reports. The move, widely seen as preemptive, reflects growing pressure from Republican lawmakers, led by Senator Charles Grassley, and signals yet another shift in leadership for an agency that has been at the center of political and institutional controversies over the past several years. While Wray’s resignation isn’t entirely unexpected, it raises important questions about the future of the FBI, the challenges it faces, and the public’s trust in one of the nation’s most powerful institutions. This moment offers an opportunity to reflect on Wray’s tenure,

This is my final column for The New York Times, where I began publishing my opinions in January 2000. I’m retiring from The Times, not the world, so I’ll still be expressing my views in other places. But this does seem like a good occasion to reflect on what has changed over these past 25 years. What strikes me, looking back, is how optimistic many people, both here and in much of the Western world, were back then and the extent to which that optimism has been replaced by anger and resentment. And I’m not just talking about members of the working class who feel betrayed by elites;
