Hollywood Is Killing Itself: Good

Original Article

I love movies – there’s nothing like them for escapism and entertainment – but Hollywood is something else entirely. It is an orgy or narcissism and rape; casting couch feminists and private jet environmentalists. The extremely wealthy who set up “charities” named after themselves to filter income through to avoid paying the taxes they advocate should be raised on everyone else. They are largely hypocrites and just plain bad people. They are also destroying themselves, which is something worth noting and celebrating. Box office numbers and high-profile flops like the Joker sequel (did anyone need or want that?) are some prime examples of just how far down the toilet Hollywood has slipped.

Comments:

RE the title: this isn't a bad thing. Hollyweird has been out of ideas for decades.

Most of the people responsible for ruining Hollywood are the actors/actresses who have already made their millions. They ruined the livelihood of those who followed in their footsteps.

FTA: The first half of the opening line in the AP story about the Golden Globe nominations this week perfectly encapsulate everything I’ve stated thus far. It reads, “Jacques Audiard’s audacious musical ‘Emilia Pérez,’ about a Mexican drug lord who undergoes gender affirming surgery to become a woman, led nominations to the 82nd Golden Globes on Monday…” What's wrong with you people, why wouldn't you spend a few hours in the over-priced theater, have over-priced snacks to see a masterpiece like the above described insanity?

This is the same virus that has infected the "news" business and the two combined are called "media" but might also be known as EGO Inc. These people are entitled, egotistical, obnoxious, and paid FAR too much money; which reinforces their superiority complexes. After all, paying me $20 MILLION to pretend on screen must mean I am HOT STUFF, right? However, things are happening. The news business is shaky. Their audience has shrunk, their ad dollars are drying up, and they are in the start of a RIF and supposed refocusing on fair reporting; as if anyone is going to believe that. They also face significant competition from alternative media using different technologies. Hollyweird is noticing problems as well and the big budget losers are taking a toll. There has been a lot of talk about much smaller budget films without the $$star$$ power and without the Leftist messaging so it will appeal to a broader audience. Consider that some studios, like Disney, have become toxic because of their shoving their agenda down the audiences throats. A smaller studio with an untarnished reputation will have a good chance to succeed if they can produce a focused and quality product with actors that are interested in providing good entertainment, not ego strokes for themselves. In the end, the MONEY matters, and all parts of the media business need to make a profit. Guess who provides the MONEY. You, the consumer. Media has been spitting in our faces for a while now. They are starting to pay a price for that.

Hollywood is no different now than it has always been. Study the history of the old Hollywood stars. They were always liberals and morally bad people, but the studio's kept them quiet. Quiet is what is needed from Hollywood. Nothing we can do can keep them from dope, sexual antics, narcissism, and believing they are smarter than the average American. If they want to be successful take the money and shut the hell up.

I rarely go to movies, but I usually hear the scuttlebutt from movie goers and/or critics if there is a movie that they're really excited about. As I was in my car listening to the radio, I heard the announcement of the Golden Globe movie nominees. I had never heard of a single one of them.

I've slowly been growing my DVDs of my best movies I like from the 30's to 2000 or so and also back them up in digital format in case I need to replace a DVD. I also got a projector and big screen so I don't have to go to an over-priced theater to watch any. Besides, theaters only show the more current garbage.

Trump Responds to Wray's Resignation 7 replies

President-elect Donald Trump, who hired outgoing FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2017 for a ten year term at the Bureau, is responding to news Wray submitted his resignation. "The resignation of Christopher Wray is a great day for America as it will end the Weaponization of what has become known as the United States Department of Injustice. I just don’t know what happened to him. We will now restore the Rule of Law for all Americans. Under the leadership of Christopher Wray, the FBI illegally raided my home, without cause, worked diligently on illegally impeaching and indicting me, and has done everything else

We've known for years that the number of migrants entering the U.S. during Joe Biden's term was massive. New York Times reporters worked with government officials and outside experts to "analyze the magnitude of the recent immigration surge in the United States." The results are nothing short of mind-blowing. "The immigration surge since 2021 has been the largest in U.S. history, surpassing even the levels of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Total net migration — the number of people coming to the country minus the number leaving — will likely exceed eight million people over the past four years, government statistics suggest.

There is a wonderful and salutatory effect to publicly posting a head on a pike for all to see. Now, after the hideous leftist celebration of the murder of that executive from an unpopular industry, it’s necessary – for the benefit of dumb and disingenuous people who will cry about this imagery – to make clear that this is not to be taken literally. It is to be taken figuratively. That is, we in the America First movement must figuratively post the head of at least one hack GOP establishment senator at the summit of Capitol Hill during the 2026 cycle.

Anyone who has voted Republican in more than one election quickly becomes familiar with feeling exasperated. GOP politicians have a history of not handling success well. I can't be precise about how long this has been the case, but this past spring marked my 40th anniversary as a Republican/conservative activist and it's been that way in all that time. Every once in a while a Republican politician will act like he or she won an election — Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and President-elect Donald Trump come immediately to mind — but it doesn't happen often enough. It is both mind-blowing and disheartening to see how the GOP behaves

But this does seem like a good occasion to reflect on what has changed over these past 25 years. And I’m not just talking about members of the working class who feel betrayed by elites;
