Jan. 6 investigators say Trump trying
to ‘send a message’ with calls for
their imprisonment

Members of the special committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol are hitting back at President-elect Trump after he called for their imprisonment, saying the criminal conduct surrounding the rampage was committed by Trump and his supporters, not those who probed the tragedy afterwards. The lawmakers on the now-defunct panel, which featured members of both parties, maintain that Trump’s threat to prosecute them puts him in league with tyrants who break laws with impunity and punish anyone who seeks to hold them to account.

Well, thanks for the correction! Here I thought the 'Rats were 'sending a message' by pulling FBI agents off of gang and sex-trafficking investigations across the country and assigning them to track down every last Granma who set foot on the Capitol grounds -not in the building, just set foot on the grounds- on Jan 6th, and then locked them up in the DeeCee Jail for years without a trial.

The rampage was caused by left-wing agitators. There are pictures of the Jan 6th protestors calmly walking through the Capitol, a public building, that they were allowed into by the guards. The only gunshots were through a closed door by a Capitol policeman. Meanwhile ANTIFA and their ilk were raising hell outside.

President-elect Donald Trump promised to expel migrants to their country of origin by military force — and refused to “do business” with those countries if they refuse to take them in. “I’ll get them into every country, or we won’t do business with those countries,” Trump, 78, said in a lengthy interview with Time magazine published Thursday after being honored as the outlet’s 2024 “Person of the Year.” “I want them out, and the countries have got to take them back, and if they don’t take them back, we won’t do business with those countries, and we will tariff those countries very substantially,” he added.

A Texas judge representing a county flipped by Donald Trump in this year's presidential race announced he is leaving the Democratic Party to become a Republican on Tuesday. Trump, who defeated Vice President Kamala Harris in November, made substantial gains this year in South Texas, home to a high Latino population that has traditionally leaned toward voting Democratic. Nationwide, he cut into Democrats' margins in several voting groups -- including among Latino, Asian and young voters -- leaving the Democratic Party questioning how it can regain trust from these communities in upcoming elections.

Donald Trump must move hard and fast to get his agenda enacted. He’s going to be opposed not only by the bureaucrats of the Deep State but by, to some extent, the courts, congressional Democrats, and soft Republicans. Fortunately, President Trump, as chief executive – the unitary executive – has tremendous authority. He and his appointees, as well as Republicans in Congress, must use it. They will feel considerable pressure to be soft and weak, not only from the regime media but from the spineless establishmentarians. They must reject it, and fully exercise the power the American people have granted them.

There are lots of mostly bad things that President Joe Biden can justly take credit for, but the fall of Syria is not one of them. Biden provided Iran with sanctions relief and bailed out Hezbollah just as it was on the verge of defeat. He's trying to take credit for other people's victories while pretending that this was a desired outcome, rather than Turkey taking the initiative and exploiting a weakened Hezbollah. Eager to preserve President-elect Donald Trump ’s hush money conviction even as he returns to office, prosecutors are suggesting various ways forward — including one based on how some courts handle criminal cases when defendants die. Trump’s spokesperson called the ideas “pathetic.” In court papers made public on Tuesday, the Manhattan district attorney’s office proposed an array of options for keeping the historic conviction on the books. The proposals include freezing the case until Trump is out of office, or agreeing that any future sentence wouldn’t include jail time. Another idea:

The HTS rebels who stormed Damascus on Saturday are designated as a terrorist group by Ankara, but Erdoğan has also given them unofficial support.
