Princess Anne has suffered minor injuries and a concussion following an incident at her country home, Buckingham Palace announced Monday. Anne, who is the 73-year-old sister of King Charles III, was hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery. The incident at the Gatcombe Park estate happened on Sunday evening. "Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation," Buckingham Palace said in a statement, adding that "The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole royal family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."

Not a very good year for the Royal Family. The King has cancer, Princess Catherine has cancer and now Princess Anne suffers an injury.

I send my get well wishes to the Princess Royal too. No head injury is minor at her age, unfortunately. I’ve read that like her brother the King, she minds her diet and has a pretty strong constitution. Have a good rest Princess Anne!!

I never liked her but do admire her. Head injuries are no fun. Slipping and sliding in the bathtub is no fun. It's one of the curses of getting older. Anyone else getting a bit suspicious about all these ailments suddenly showing up in the royal family?

Me, too, #4. She is a well known horse woman. And horses can be very dangerous, even good horses and experienced riders have mishaps. It's a long way to the ground from the back of a horse. Ask me how I know.

Another report says that she was kicked by a horse. I know many people, myself included, who have been seriously injured by a horse. I still ride when it is necessary, don't at all fear horses, but people need to understand that they are huge, very powerful animals with a small brain, and a LOT of automatic responses to different sorts of odd events. And often their response to being scared or surprised is to kick. Getting kicked is NOT fun, I can guarantee it from personal experience. And I once saw a cocker spaniel get a life lesson....nipped at the heels of a friends Palomino barrel racing quarter horse. That dog flew, I swear 25 feet in the air on a very low, flat trajectory, never higher than 3 feet from the ground, and hit the ground running at 100% of rated spaniel speed. Never bothered the horse again, and apparently was close enough that it was more of a huge push launch rather than a killer impact. I like horses....but also am very aware of what they can do.

Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has her sights set on your children — for more climate change messaging. Hillary Clinton is putting pressure on Hollywood studios to develop movies and TV shows that dramatize how climate change is putting kids in danger. “There’s now research on this topic, but most people are not aware at all,” Clinton said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “Our hope is that we can help people make the connections between children’s mental and physical health and the impact of climate change.”

A bombshell report released Tuesday afternoon by the House Judiciary GOP claims that at least two of the 51 "former" intelligence officials who signed a letter discrediting the Hunter Biden "Laptop from Hell" as Russian disinformation were actually on the CIA's payroll at the time they signed the letter - despite actively asserting that they didn't have access to any classified information. Former Deputy Director Michael Morell and former CIA Inspector General David Buckley are the two signatories named in Tuesday's report as being on active contract at the time they signed the statement. Since the CIA "declined to declassify the entire universe of signatories who were on active contract," though,

Naftali Bennett, the once and future Prime Minister of Israel, was the keynote speaker at American Experiment’s Annual Dinner earlier this month. I was privileged to spend some time with Bennett, and found him deeply impressive. I will be surprised if he is not Israel’s Prime Minister within the next two years. In today’s Wall Street Journal, Bennett has an op-ed titled “The U.S. and Israel’s Common Fight.” Nothing in it will be new to readers of this web site, but it makes some fundamental points, very well: Elections come and go. Leaders change. But the values Israel and the U.S. represent are eternal. The death cult of Hamas

Canadian Conservative candidate Don Stewart won a close election on Monday in Toronto-St.Paul’s, taking a seat that has been held by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party for the past 30 years. “Before Monday’s vote, a Conservative candidate hadn’t been competitive in Toronto–St. Paul’s since the 1980s. The party hadn’t won a seat in urban Toronto since the 2011 federal election,” CBC News marveled. CBC called the race a “nail-biter to the very end,” with Stewart’s Liberal opponent Leslie Church in the lead for about six out of seven hours of vote-counting. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) introduced the No Tax Dollars for the Taliban Act last year. The bill is expected to pass today in the House. The No Tax Dollars for the Taliban Act would force the State Department to report on which countries send aid to the Taliban that also get U.S. assistance. Thanks to President Joe Biden's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban were ready to take over the country as soon as the last military plane left the Kabul airport. The Biden administration left a power vacuum in place and the Taliban filled that vacuum in 2021. The bill forces the secretary of state to weigh

Judge Juan Merchan lifted parts of Trump’s restrictive gag order on Tuesday preventing Trump from commenting publicly about witnesses and jurors. The ruling comes days before Trump’s first presidential debate against President Joe Biden, where Trump’s criminal conviction is likely going to be a point of contention. Before the debate was finalized, Biden taunted Trump about the hush-money criminal trial and his availability on Wednesdays. Since Trump’s conviction, the Biden campaign has released an advertisement slamming Trump over being a convicted felon. CNN will be airing

Oklahoma’s state supreme court ruled on Tuesday that the nation’s first publicly funded religious charter school, St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School, is unconstitutional. Charter schools are required to be “nonsectarian in their programs, admission policies, and other operations,” the court wrote. Oklahoma’s Charter School Board approved St. Isidore’s application to become a virtual charter school in June last year, and the school was slated to open in fall 2024. “This State’s establishment of a religious charter school violates Oklahoma statutes, the Oklahoma Constitution, and the Establishment Clause,” the court wrote. “St. Isidore cannot justify its creation by invoking Free Exercise rights as a religious entity. A violent protest outside a Los Angeles synagogue sparked condemnation from President Biden and others Monday and prompted new debate over what some consider escalating behavior during demonstrations over the war in Gaza. The protest began Sunday afternoon at the Adas Torah synagogue in the heavily Jewish Pico-Robertson neighborhood but eventually spilled into nearby areas over several hours with fights breaking out between pro-Palestinian demonstrators protesting a real estate event and supporters of Israel. Law enforcement sources said more than 150 people converged on the temple on West Pico Boulevard, and it took time for the Los Angeles Police Department to get enough personnel to the scene.
