The owner of one of New York’s most famous eateries is exploring a run for mayor.
Junior’s Restaurant proprietor Alan Rosen — upset with crime and quality of life complaints in the Big Apple — wants to bring his cheese cake making skills to City Hall. Rosen recently met with campaign strategist Hank Sheinkopf, Bill Cunningham and Mitchell Moss, who served as political advisors to former three-term mayor, Mike Bloomberg, to discuss what it takes to run for mayor — and win, The Post has learned. The Washington Post said Friday that newly named editor Robert Winnett has decided not to take the job and remain in Britain instead, another upheaval at a news outlet where a reorganization plan has gone disastrously wrong.
The Post’s CEO and publisher, Will Lewis, announced Winnett’s decision to withdraw in a note to staff on Friday morning, and said a recruitment firm would be hired to launch a search for a replacement immediately.

An appeals court in Washington, D.C., denied Steve Bannon’s attempt to avoid prison Thursday.
Bannon asked the federal appeals court earlier this month to delay his imminent prison sentence on contempt of Congress charges. The court denied his request, noting that his argument “does not a warrant a departure from the general rule.” In a 2-1 decision, the judges decided that a stay would not be warranted because Bannon’s argument does not bring up “a close question or one that very well could be decided the other way.”

Luntz claims that the last two presidential campaigns, beginning with Trump versus Clinton in 2016 and then Trump versus Biden in 2020, were the beginning of the end of democracy. It seems everything in politics is “the end of democracy.” Luntz claimed that personal invectives and insults are too debasing and, apparently, a sign of the end of democracy. Luntz is a pollster, not a historian. Maybe he’s unaware of the long history of politicians insulting each other.
A temporary election worker for Maricopa County in Arizona was arrested after he allegedly stole items from an election center.
Law enforcement officials revealed that 27-year-old Walter Ringfield was arrested on Friday after he reportedly stole a security fob and keys from the Maricopa County Tabulation and Election Center, according to KTAR News.
Ringfield, who was on probation for a previous felony, was booked into jail on charges of “theft and criminal damage,” according to the outlet.

Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Kristen Clarke in 2021 falsely testified to the Senate that she had never been arrested.
