In his first interview since being acquitted in his impeachment trial in Texas, Attorney General Ken Paxton left the door open to launching a primary challenge to Sen. John Cornyn. “To me, he’s been in Washington too long. He’s been there, what, for 14 years or so? And I can’t think of a single thing he’s accomplished for our state or even for the country,” Paxton told Tucker Carlson in a wide-ranging interview that published Wednesday evening on X.
“Why don’t you run against him?” the former Fox News host asked.
“Everything’s on the table for me,” Paxton responded. “Now that I’ve been through this and I’ve seen

The sad truth is that anyone who goes to the Washington DC sewer, no matter how idealistic, will be corrupted and consumed by the overwhelming desire for power and wealth within a very few years. That is all that will drive them, and they will have long since stopped serving their constituent's desires!!!
John Cornyn is the perfect example. He went from being a principled conservative to a RINO Republi-Can't very quickly once tasting the DC sewer water!!!! He needs to be removed because the only Texans he actually represents are the lie-berals who fund him, and I would 1,000,000% support Paxton in a primary challenge to Cornyn!!!!!!

Cornyn is a speechless McConnell toady. He has never said or done anything.

Sadly, Mr. Paxton's assessment of Senator Coryn is dead on.
He's perfected that "I'm a rock-ribbed conservative" election-year routine and then go back to being the swamp rat he is for the next five years. Sadly, I've voted for him everytime. I hope to have a principled choice for his office -- and other offices, including my State Representative, who fell in line with the Phelans, Roves, and Bushes on this impeachment farce.
I'm not sure Paxton is as clean as the wind-driven snow, but I voted for him in every election I had a chance to do so. I wish Louis Gohmert had made a better run in 2022 because he would be a great choice as Attorney General next time around. But there are as many or more Democrats, RINOs, and other Swamp Creatures that are as or more crooked that anyone has accused Paxton.
Plus, voting for Paxton in the runoff last year gave me another chance to vote against a Bush. Something I've proudly done since my last vote for a Bush in 2004.

Paxton won that round but he didn’tt come out smelling like a rose. I was really disappointed by some of his reported behavior.

Paxton sounds like someone that actually governs. In response, many in government are trying to get rid of him. If Paxton ever runs on the national stage, I would give him serious consideration.

Cornyn was a decent AG in TX but he is just another Mitt in DC
He (his staff) has never responded to any specific question nor complaint which I have sent. Just political spin. And, every time I send a message I end up on his newsletter (which I had declined on the contact site) and have to unsubscribe. Cruz is better but not much

#4 “reported behavior” being the key to your post.
None of it was substantiated. All lies.

I am all in for Paxton over the 'principled' Cornyn. He may be principled but only for himself. Like previous posters have said he has done nothing for Texas while Paxton takes the feds to court at every opportunity to get them to obey the laws that they disregard so cavalierly.

If Paxton replaced Cornyn it would be a huge improvement.

#3, I wish Gohmert had made it in 2022, too, but he was targeted very early in the primary cycle by a very high-dollar mass mailing super-smear campaign - probably funded by the Bush clan, pushing George P. for the AG job. GP didn't make a ripple in the primary anyway. So they Bushies (and I have to include Cornyn in that group now, I guess). Gohmert is a very principled, strong conservative. We need him in some state-wide job!

Paxton, throw this has been under the bus. He is a dumber than dumb yes man for Mitch. Has not been able to think for himself for decades. It should not be difficult to get him out of office.

Every one of the House managers should be defeated during the next election cycle. Especially true for the RINO from Junction, Texas who only runs as a Republican because if he properly labeled himself as the dimwitocrat he is, he'd never make it out of the chute in his district.
