Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared an “invasion” at the southern border, attributing it to the Mexican drug cartels. This declaration comes as Governor Abbott takes a firm stance against the escalating security crisis and the influx of criminal activities from across the border.
“I officially declared an invasion at our border because of Biden’s policies. We deployed the Texas National Guard, DPS & local law enforcement. We are building a border wall, razor wire & marine barriers. We are also repelling migrants,” Governor Abbott announced in a post on Thursday.

Abbott is all talk. He DOES nothing. The illegal flow isn't being deterred at all.

Governor, if you find yourself surrounded by cartels on on side and feds on the other, I suggest you attack in both directions.

Why is he doing this now and not 2 + years ago? I'm expecting all talk and little action which is what he normally does.

This "declaration" from Abbott is a repeat of his announcement several months ago and his post about seemingly immediate action is a rehash of the limp wristed moves made months ago. Pathetically, the article refers the all too familiar "strongly worded letter" Abbott tent to Garland and Mayorkas way back in Nov '22 stating, "The letter pulls no punches..."
I am thankful that comments led to the following link from "Texas Scorecard" with their video review of the "declaration of invasion". The reported gave a good summary of Abbott's continued weakness. I'll enjoy reading more of their articles.

Well, that was a long time coming. When are Republicans going to become pro-Active? We all saw the invasion coming for weeks. It was all over the news. The moment the first illegal alien set foot in this country, they should have been deported. The fact that the border was wide open and practically nothing was done is a travesty. By the way, why didn’t Abbott just use the materials there all ready to go and close those gaps? Think like a democrat. Just do it and don’t ask for permission. Wouldn’t it have been better to battle the Biden administration through the courts on the issue while, at least, making it difficult for illegals to cross? Now, look at the mess.

This will not stop until the people of this country come together in thousands and protest the Texas statehouse and the White House. Remember the anti-war protestors of the 60s and then again during the Iraq war? They were dogged and determined and out there every day. I don’t think the people are that fed up…yet. It hasn’t hit critical mass. Protesting works. It gets press, and it gets the attention of politicians,

Lt. Col. Allen West advocated doing this 3 years ago, informing the feds of the fact, then taking over construction of the wall, and securing illegals in unused military housing until they could be reported.

It's a good thing it didn't take us that long to declare an invasion of the Philippines, China, Korea and Okinawa.

You can’t send a politician in to do a man’s job. Gov. Abbott will install some ineffective fencing and call in National Guardsmen with baby formula and diapers but not one rifle. The buses will be waiting to scatter some of the invaders all over the U.S. Meanwhile, the drug cartels and foreign and domestic enemies will cut deals with the Biden administration for more money in return for taking all of their criminals and the insane. China will move in to areas of the globe devoid of problematic natives while we choke on them: an effective strategy when dealing with stupid or corrupt American leadership. I will now thank Gov. Abbott in advance for absolutely nothing.

As I'm writing this, I'm watching my favorite Conservative on Rumble. The title of his video is The US doesn't have an immigration problem; we have a demogration problem. I love that term because it means that our current illegal alien invasion (yes, it is an INVASION) of my beloved country. He also highlighted the weakness of Govenor Abbott in the face of the invasion. The time for hemming and hawing half measures is long past. It's time for Abbott to take the gloves off and do all he can to secure his state's border.

Good grief, put up signs that lethal force will be used. Then do it! Our forefathers would have stopped this 2 years ago.

I'm calling Barbara Streisand on this "declaration". He has allowed this housing development north of Houston.

When Pancho Villa invaded the USA, the US Army went on a campaign in Mexico. Even Democrats felt compelled to protect US citizens back then.

Don't expect any help from the feds. Things might change if Trump gets elected.
Build the damn wall. When the feds sue, say 'See you in court', and ignore them. Ignore anyone that says you are not allowed to build a wall. It's way past time for Abbott to act.

To little to late. Plus if he were serious about the invasion he would start rounding them up and shipping them back to Mexico. Fact is, not one politician has talked about deporting them. It's all a scam and the American people are the ones getting screwed. Billions of taxpayer dollars going to support these parasites. Pathetic.

Finally...what took so long...could it be the invasion was to scare Texas into voting conservative....there seems to be no other explanation for the delay....the invasion was a danger to Texas 3 years ago...just as it is now....

The Constitution requires that the federal government protect the states from invasion (Article 4, Section 4). It also permits states to act without permission of the federal government when states are under imminent threat (Article 1, Section 10).

What is totally missing is Abbot saying he will round up and deport all illegal aliens in his state. Round them up bus them to the border and physically eject them back to Mexico. All of them. I was delighted to hear President Trump state in Iowa that he will mass deport all of these illegals and screw due process for these criminals, which every single illegal alien is who have broken our laws. Deport, deport, deport, including that muslim piece of crap hag who also entered our country, Ilhan Omar. Deport. This word should appear in any further discussions and statements about the invasion at the border. It is the solution to illegal immigration, and keep it out of the courts.

****Invasion by the Mexican Drug Cartels****.....
And about ten million other people at the current moment.
"Camp of the Saints" was supposed to be a warning tale, not an operations manual.
If you aren't familiar with Michael Yon, do a search for his current videos. he is currently (or recently) at the Darien Gap covering the invasion of several tens of thousands of South Americans going through there every month, on their way to the USA.... And how they are being aided and abetted by the Biden Administration and funded by US taxpayers.a thousand miles even before they cross OUR border.

Shouldn't the headline be “Abbott Officially Declares Invasion ONE YEAR AGO.”
The letter this article so breathlessly reports on was written November of 2022.
This article is a nothing burger.

Yes indeed,#8. There were quite a few Border agents and National Guardsmen who voted enthusiastically for Col. West for good reason. At a time of obvious looming border crisis, sticking with Abbott was a monumental mistake. God help us.
