A rumor spread last month suggesting that 14 cities in the United States are planning to ban meat.
The news, which made its rounds mostly on conservative news websites, was that by 2030, the cities seek to achieve zero consumption of meat, zero consumption of dairy, three new clothing items per person each year, zero private vehicle ownership, and one short return airline flight per person every three years.
Close to 100 cities globally have already signed onto the deal. In the United States, this includes Austin, Boston,(snip) the cities aren’t planning to ban meat outright. They’re pushing to reduce meat consumption, with zero consumption being the target.

Some people may find it difficult to decide on which three articles of clothing to replace.

There is no global climate emergency, but there will be global famine if these morons have their way.

This can’t be true, can it? I’ll do it when Barack and Michelle, Joe and Jill, the Bezos, the Zuckerberg, Optah, and the Newsomes do it.

Freaking madness. What's next? I really don't want to know. Take my barbecued chicken? My little NY strip? My beef or chicken tacos. Molon Labe.

Apologies for the second post but LOL #1. My wife would be heading to DC with an AR-15 if they tried to restrict her clothing options. This sht has got to be stopped.

No shortage of wealthy, stupid, ignorant morons out there. Trying to convince the peasants of the middle class that they know best for the world. Unbelievable and disgusting. F all of them.

The people need to spy on their meat denying leaders to discover their hypocrisy. When discovered, they should be shot on site.

#3: I wouldn't do it even then. The problem then, is where do we find meat when it's prohibited in the stores?

Two weeks ago at a Food Bank dispersal we were given a bag of nuggets. Got home and found they were plant based. Disgusting. Bet every bag handed out was tossed in the garbage.

Now is the time to tell these people to go f themselves. I am not interested in eating artificially buttered grass clippings and "purified toilet water". Leave us the hell alone. This is a sham. No heat, no AC, no private transportation, no ceiling fans, basically no food than any person would eat willingly. I wish all of them a painful, horrible death.

Let the Vegans have a break! If they want rabbit food, let them have all they want.
There is no way in hades that Austin or Houston will be getting rid of their steakhouses, grocers and meat markets will ever be forced into stop selling meat for hamburgers, steaks and tacos!

It won't affect me, I won't buy my meat in those places. And more for me and other sane people is a good thing.

Re #8, for city folks with no land or skills, it could be a problem. But if you live in the country, crazy city rules won't bite, and people can continue to grow, butcher and eat their own chickens, sheep, goats, hogs and cows.
And many of us fill a freezer with deer, hog or elk, and pheasant in a year.
Plus fish, crabs, mussels, oysters, clams and lobsters where there is an ocean, river or lake available.
If all that beef can't go to the cities... more for us who live in sane places.

Given the price of beef, restrictions won't be necessary for most of us.
