WGA strike: Hollywood studios send writers
‘best and final’ offer as deal nears
on strike

The major film and television studios on Saturday evening delivered their “best and final” offer to the striking writers, a person close to the situation told CNN, adding to significant hope that the negotiations to end the months-long strike will conclude with an agreement this weekend. Negotiators with the Writers Guild of America were expected to review the offer and deliver their response. The Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers spent Saturday negotiating for the fourth consecutive day. Should a tentative deal be reached, it would still need to be ratified by rank-and-file members before it could go into effect.

There are reasons why a huge chunk of filming is done outside of Hollywood these days. A lot of movies and TV series are now shot in Georgia, British Columbia and New Zealand. Look for more production to be relocated.

The writers have done nothing original in years. Their main purpose lately seems to be dredging up old scripts and having black characters read white lines. Apparently there isn't a lot of money in that and nobody is watching. Chuck Lorre is a notable exception for his genius level creation of "Big Bang Theory" and "Young Sheldon."

Are you sitting down? OK, so here's the thing: According to a recent RealClearPolitics poll, more than three out of 10 Democrat voters think the people of America enjoy "too much freedom." Imagine that: a substantial percentage of the Democrat Party — AKA: the party of "tolerance" and "inclusion" — wants to deny free speech or censor the First Amendment rights of people who don't believe as they believe. Shocked? Me, neither. Here's more: “Overall, 9 in 10 voters in the U.S. think First Amendment protections for freedom of speech is a good thing, while only 9% think it is a bad thing,” said pollster Spencer Kimball, who

Key evidence will start being presented Thursday morning. Forensic accountant Bruce Dubinsky, the Justice Department Tax Division’s former assistant attorney general Eileen O’Connor, and George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley will testify as to whether Biden was involved in foreign business dealings with his son since becoming vice president in 2009.

The Germans levied fines against the family and threatened to take away their children. I documented the plight of the family for years when I was working at Fox News.
