CHICAGO — Democratic strongholds are struggling to keep helping the surge of migrants in their cities and states — and it’s sparking anxiety in the party about potential fallout heading into the 2024 election cycle.
New York Mayor Eric Adams’ tussle with the White House over an influx of migrants from red states has famously soured his relationship with President Joe Biden. But he’s far from the only blue state official pushing back, as public pressure and budget concerns rise in Illinois, Massachusetts and beyond. “You’re hearing sentiments that are not dissimilar from what you would hear at [Donald] Trump rallies

Three Dallas police officers are liable for the death of Tony Timpa, a white man who died after officers pinned him to the ground for more than 14 minutes in 2016, a federal jury in Texas decided on Wednesday, ending a civil trial that had faced many delays.
The jury of five men and three women found that officers Dustin Dillard, Raymond Dominguez, and Danny Vasquez were responsible for Timpa’s death, and they awarded $1 million to his 15-year-old son, according to Texas news outlets. The jury found that two of the officers, Dillard and Vasquez, had qualified immunity, shielding them from civil liability on the grounds

Less than a week after being indicted, Senator Bob Menendez (D., N.J.) pleaded not guilty Wednesday to federal corruption charges related to his allegedly taking bribes in an influence-peddling scheme that involved Egypt.
Despite Democratic calls for his resignation, Menendez has denied any wrongdoing on his part. He allegedly pocketed over $100,000 worth of gold bars and nearly $500,000 in cash, among other luxurious gifts.
His not-guilty plea comes as many Democratic politicians call for his resignation. His wife, Nadine, also pleaded not guilty before a federal judge in Manhattan.

SEOUL, South Korea — The U.S. soldier who sprinted into North Korea across the heavily fortified border between the Koreas two months ago is in American custody, two U.S. officials said Wednesday.
Earlier, North Korea said it would expel Pvt. Travis King — an announcement that surprised some observers who had expected the North to drag out his detention in the hopes of squeezing concessions from Washington at a time of high tensions between the rivals.
Though King’s expulsion resolves a still-mysterious episode, it almost certainly does not end his troubles or ensure the sort of celebratory homecoming that has accompanied the releases of other detained Americans. His fate remains

At the New York Post this week, the Blogfather, Glenn Reynolds, poses the question, “Has the air gone out of the climate crisis balloon?” He suggests that it’s at least deflating a bit, along with several other panic-inducing liberal themes of the moment. (I would argue that the “gun violence crisis” is still going full steam ahead on the left, but perhaps that’s the exception to the rule.) He points to a few examples where leftists seem to be losing their endless enthusiasm for screaming about climate change and making demands that everyone must sacrifice everything they hold dear to Save The Planet. Greta Thunberg doesn’t seem

San Francisco leaders are preparing to ramp up efforts to clean up and clear out homeless camps in the city after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals clarified that people who decline shelter should not be classified as “involuntarily homeless.”
The clarification could also be critical for other western cities, which have struggled with the proliferation of homeless encampments on sidewalks and in public parks in the wake of two Ninth Circuit rulings — Martin v. City of Boise and Johnson v. City of Grants Pass — that limited the enforcement of camping bans on people who have nowhere to go.
San Francisco mayor London Breed announced Monday that the clarification provides

NEW YORK — A judge ruled Tuesday that Donald Trump committed fraud for years while building the real estate empire that catapulted him to fame and the White House.
Judge Arthur Engoron, ruling in a civil lawsuit brought by New York’s attorney general, found that the former president and his company deceived banks, insurers and others by massively overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing.
Engoron ordered that some of Trump’s business licenses be rescinded as punishment, making it difficult or impossible for them to do business in New York, and said he would continue to have an independent monitor

Are you sitting down? OK, so here's the thing: According to a recent RealClearPolitics poll, more than three out of 10 Democrat voters think the people of America enjoy "too much freedom."
Imagine that: a substantial percentage of the Democrat Party — AKA: the party of "tolerance" and "inclusion" — wants to deny free speech or censor the First Amendment rights of people who don't believe as they believe.
Shocked? Me, neither. Here's more:
“Overall, 9 in 10 voters in the U.S. think First Amendment protections for freedom of speech is a good thing, while only 9% think it is a bad thing,” said pollster Spencer Kimball, who

With ABC News sounding the alarm over their own poll showing former President Trump leading President Biden by 10 points in a hypothetical head-to-head rematch, the cast of ABC’s The View were in a panic on Monday. The fact that the network they worked for was the one who conducted the poll meant little as they all took to attacking the results; with faux conservative Ana Navarro openly suggesting the pollsters were all “high” on “edibles or somethings” when they were asking the questions.
“A new ABC/Washington Post poll … [s]hows that Biden is trailing you-know-who by nearly ten points, but – but I know there are other polls

There seem to be Nazis everywhere today. Well, Nazis and RUSSIANS. It just depends what sort of fever lens you look through.
Whatever you do at the moment, it’s vital we all PUSH BACK AGAINST RUSSIAN PROPAGANDA……especially after a person, as Prime Minister of Canada, has been caught on camera, before God and everyone, publicly celebrating a 98 year old…Waffen SS member. Well, one Ukrainian freedom fighter is another man’s Nazi, right?
Not…not exactly. Not like truckers in the anti-COVID convoys Trudeau called “Nazis”… During a heated exchange in the House of Commons Wednesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Conservative MPs sympathetic to the trucker convoy of standing
