A Reality Check for Republican Voters

There are three realities that Republican voters can no longer avoid. The first, Joe Biden will not be the Democrat nominee in 2024. Second, the Democrats want to face a damaged Donald Trump in November of 2024. Third, Trump’s age, unforeseen events, and the egregious lawfare he is facing could eventuate in Trump having to drop out of the race. Ron DeSantis is the only viable proven conservative candidate to replace him and yet Trump and many Republican voters are foolishly determined to permanently destroy DeSantis and render him unelectable.

The point of making DeSantis unelectable is perhaps the dumbest of all dumb moves made by Trump and his supporters. There is an unrealistic bent that it's ok to burn down your house to spite your face

Here's an idea Mr McCann. How about the Republican Party Leaders get off their asses and start supporting the candidate who is the overwhelming favorite of the voters? Where is the outrage and daily comments from the party leaders? Their silence confirms their membership in the "Big Party" that we voters are not and never have been members of.
Trump and nobody else!

The only reality check is that it’s Trump or lose for sure. No other Republican candidate can defeat Biden or his replacement. Best get ready for many more years of idiocy, stupidity, treachery, thievery and incoherent social programs with no use other than to line the pockets of Democratic supporters. I intend to vote, but I’m realistic. Fortunately I’m able to sidestep most of the problems we see and read about. I feel for those who can’t and I know their only hope is to kick Democrats out of power.

Another DeSantis minion. DeSantis is just another McCain or Romney with a bit better understanding of how to lie to the voters. But he's let it slip out many times that he would be an establishment republican president. Exactly what America DOES NOT NEED. The republican nominee needs cross over voters, Democrats who prefer the republican candidate over the democrat candidate. There would be 0 of these for DeSantis but a surpisingly high number for Trump (blacks, and hispanics). DeSantis is like my fourth choice.

He’s unelectable by his own hand.
Trump voters will look to a third party or write in first. Trump voters are not necessarily Republicans. Many of us despise the Republicans as much as the Dems.

Here here! #3!!
I’m not going to pretend this is a normal election and “may the best candidate win the primary.”
The republic is under siege by an utterly corrupted dimokrap party - both the leadership and the corrupted followers whose curated minds cannot keep the founding principles first and foremost.
I think desantis is a good guy, I hope, but i will not accept a new normal of the Dims destroying our candidates by using the instruments of government if they really don’t like them. Which is all of our candidates unless they agree to the dims’ terms.

Donald Trump will return to the office he was already legitimately elected to have back in 2020. I'm probably the "odd man out" here but I just have a feeling......

Agreed. I have learned that Ron DeSantis is surprisingly like Trump in his perspective and his instincts, the difference is mostly in personality and physical attributes. Also, he may possibly be more clever in his dealings with 'the opposition'. Clearly, from his book at any rate, he admires Trump's achievements, despite some recent campaign comments to the contrary. IF something untoward were to happen to Trump, God forbid, IMO we would be very lucky to have him. And I'm not convinced he would lose to Biden....against any other Demonrat candidate, it's very hard to predict.....a lot can happen.....

Funny....NONE of the "Trump is tooo damaged, he is OVER" folks, neither Dem nor Repub, not even the Socialist ones make or ever made the same arguments about Lula...who was actually sent to Prison, and had to have the constitution changed to allow him a THIRD term.

Whoever the Dem candidate is will win the election through fraud. The question is will the American people allow it a 2nd time. My guess is yes.

If it can't be Trump, I suppose I could reluctantly vote for DeSantis. Thats because of his performance as governor and ignoring the horrible advice he's been getting from his handlers. We're not going to get perfect, so we may have to settle for pretty good.

In summer 2011, Romney was running neck and neck with Obama. Democrats are playing us. They want nothing more than Trump to win the primary so they can J6th and Charlottesville him to political death again in the general. And Trump's narcissism plays right into their hands.

If you think the country is circling the drain now, just go ahead and let the Dems and RINOs bring Trump down! The mere fact that they're throwing everything at him has exposed their wickedness and their fear of him. To abandon him now - and come up with Plan B is playing right into the opposition's hands. The media is getting louder about Biden's senility and Trump's growing strength. Never trust them. They are trying to scare the uninformed Americans that a hopeless choice is looming ----- so that their chosen candidate - be it Newsom or Michael O - can ride in and be the refreshing savior of the Republic.

I like De Santis and hope to vote for him someday. not this time, I am not interested in a candidate or a party that takes advantage of the situation where someone has been winged by lawfare intended to herd us. And their idea is to encourage us to give in and be herded. You want to kick him aside and present yourself as he better candidate because you are in better health due to the Democrats not bothering so far to indict you a hundred times? it is not a qualification. get out of here. but one day i will vote for De Santis.

If anyone here can tell me how Trump can win the 270 electoral votes without winning Georgia, Nevada, and the other important states needed, ill agree this article is wrong. To those only Trump voters who will write in Trump’s name on the ballot, you need to check out the states who do not allow that. The ballot would be tossed. But, you insist that he can win this time.

I agree that the shills and influencers have gone overboard in attacking DeSantis who might otherwise be the most viable Republican candidate if Trump gets convicted and sentenced. And this page here at Lucianne sure has it's share of those out to destroy DeSantis.

Trump and Republican voters didn't render DeSantis unelectable. Desantis and the fools who've forced him into running on a platform of Trump's policies, while the originator of those policies was also running is what has rendered DeSantis unelectable.
And evidently they still don't get it.

I can see by the comments that a reality check is not going to happen. Refusing to vote because your favored candidate is not on the ballot is a vote for Biden. I hope you enjoy another 4 years of taking the country down.
