A Chinese government diplomat expressed hope that Germany will support its takeover of Taiwan. Wang Yi, China's top diplomat, made the comments in a statement shared by the Chinese foreign ministry on Saturday, stating that he "hopes and believes" the European country will support its "peaceful reunification" with Taiwan. During a meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in China, Wang said that China once supported the reunification of Germany. "To maintain stability in the Taiwan Strait, it is necessary to firmly oppose separatist activities related to 'Taiwan independence'," Wang said.

Comments:

I hope this isn’t true. It wouldn’t be reunification, and it wouldn’t be peaceful. Plus…Germany should know better than to support any kind of “Anschluss.”

Some sino-shifters are making up stories. They think some of us won't remember that Chiang Kai-shek led the Chinese Nationalist Party from 1925, expelled Chinese communists from the party and successfully led the unification of China. That country is no longer very big on charismatic leaders. They now mostly lead at gunpoint.

This is what 7K+ dead U.S. servicemen and women plus hundreds of thousands more disabled plus $4T U.S. taxpayer dollars wasted on the Global War on Terror and $83B in equipment at Bagram AFB gifted to our enemies has led to. I lived in Germany when the U.S. invaded Iraq and I witnessed the wholehearted camaraderie they felt towards America after 9/11 turn to confusion and disillusionment. I tried to put my trust in my President but in my heart I didn’t know if I agreed with piggybacking Iraq onto a righteous war in Afghanistan and I had trouble explaining it to them. #1, I wish I had your faith but China looks more and more like the future in the face of a weakened, stupid, corrupt and disoriented U.S. and our allies know it. The Presidents from 2000-present were, with one exception, disasters. We are in a fight for our survival and we did it to ourselves. As a baby boomer I am ashamed of my generation. It was our responsibility to avoid what is surely coming and our children and grandchildren will pay a terrible price for what we neglected to do.

Reunification is one thing, and that isn't what China wants to do. They want the massive jolt to their economy that the wealth of Taiwan will give them. They keep using the term take over and that means a whole different scenario. Nobody believes Taiwan wants this at all.

Many American politicians in both parties may talk in serious tones about China, but behind the scenes they selfishly pursue an American soft on China policy that benefits their investment portfolios. Republicans who seek to sound tough refer to China as an adversary or a threat. Kristi Noem is the only Republican office holder I know of who calls China an “enemy.” I go one step further —- China is a mortal enemy.

Taiwan was never part of China. The Han in Beijing are incapable of projecting power beyond their border for very long. They wish to diplomatically "assume" control of Taiwan without ever firing a shot.

One hundred days ago today, Kevin McCarthy was gaveled in as Speaker of the House. The moment marked the beginning of a new era in the U.S. House of Representatives—one that would return the "People's House" to the people and put a check on Joe Biden and the Democrats' failed agenda. In 100 short days, House Republicans have passed 60 pieces of legislation, 88 percent of them with bipartisan majorities. And two of these common-sense policies—ending the public health emergency and overturning D.C.'s radical criminal code overhaul—forced Joe Biden to cave on veto threats and sign our legislation into law. On day one, House Republicans kept our promise to defund

Nineteen months ago, the last U.S. soldier was lifted out of Afghanistan, but hundreds of Americans were left behind in a country overrun by the Taliban and abandoned by President Biden. Yet in a recent press conference, Pentagon Spokesperson John Kirby had the audacity to state that he was proud of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. This followed the release of a report from the Biden administration that lays the blame for this withdrawal at the feet of President Trump, taking little to no responsibility. This is a sign of failed leadership. President Biden seems to forget that a year and a half ago millions of

Donald Trump stood before Republican National Committee donors on Saturday to make his case for a return to the White House, arguing that he deserves another chance to finish a dramatic party transformation that he started nearly eight years ago. In his remarks to GOP elite gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel, Trump traded the election grievance rhetoric that has defined his last two years in the public eye for a different type of message — his vision for the future, while arguing that he single-handedly “saved” the Republican Party from “the establishment class” when he won in 2016.

France's Emmanuel Macron has prompted backlash by saying that Europeans should not be "followers" of either US or China when it comes to Taiwan and urging for more EU autonomy in international policy. His statements came as China was conducting a massive three-day military drill around the self-ruled island, which Beijing sees as a part of its own territory. On Wednesday, Macron said he was standing by his comments and that "being an ally does not mean being a vassal" of the US. At the same time, he emphasized that France supported "the status quo in Taiwan" and was in favor of solving the situation peacefully. Then, Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock

For a Korean American literature class, the woman was reading “The Surrendered,” a novel by Chang-rae Lee about a Korean girl orphaned by the Korean War that includes a graphic rape scene. Now three of its most powerful utility companies are saying that they’re going to charge based not on how much of their product was used, but on how much money the user makes. In simpler times, if you bought something, you paid for it. Rich or poor, tall or short, black or white, female or male, wise or foolish, everyone paid the same amount for a product.
