Chicago's mayor-elect said the city should not demonize the teens who organized a 'Teen Takeover' of the Loop over the weekend, even after the event turned violent with cars burnt cars and minors shot.
Brandon Johnson, 47, said Sunday he does not 'condone the destructive activity' and that it's 'unacceptable and has no place' in Chicago, but that it should not be used as a way to vilify the group.
'However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities,' said Johnson, a progressive Democrat.

My take on his comments is that the youths are destroying a once beautiful area of Chicago because they don't have their own place to destroy. I'm looking forward to the DNC convention 2024

So Brandon if as you say: "However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities,' who starved them of opportunity in their own community? The republicans who last held the mayors office in 1933? Or perhaps more recent attempts to "Organize" their community?

These fools re-elected Lori Lightfoot only now it’s a Black man instead of a Black woman. There is not even a slim chance that this racist idiot is going to tackle crime in Chicago. He supports it. There is a large number of really stupid people in America.

Knock off the BS. These youth aren't looking for an opportunity to improve themselves. They're looking for an opportunity to run amuck and cause trouble knowing nothing will be done about it and they will never be held accountable. Kids looking for opportunity don't pull this kind of crap.

I didn't know another city could outdo NYC in electing a mayor more worthless and stupid than the last one.
Chicago has done just that in getting rid of Lori 'Beetlejuice" Lightfoot and replacing him with Brandon "Kingpin" Johnson. Enjoy more Black youth wilin' out on the streets of the Windy City full of hot funky air. Because if you say it is constructive to vilify the little darlings you will be called a racist or in my case a race traitor.

Can't help think the new mayor somehow gave these thugs (don't be judgemental!) the green light to do what they did. Chicago will see more of this. Wonder if they will crack down for the convention. These thugs (don't be judgemental!) are their constituents.

The question then is why has Chicago allowed so many in it's City to not have an opportunity?
Who was holding them back?
Or, is it not they've been held back, but many needed a certain segment of the City to always have a "need", thus, justify the programs and maintain their funding levels?
You could double the budgets and doubtful there would be any meaningful improvement, which means money is not the answer.

Hizzonner is right about one thing. Demonizing the young hellions won't do much good. Lock them up instead. The streets are safer when violent criminals have been locked away for years. Northern Illinois needs some inspiration from El Salvador, where over 40,000 criminal gangsters have been vaccuumed off the streets and placed in government housing. Not the good kind. The gangbangers all belong in prison. All that's lacking is the willpower to go get them.

Why don't the business owners who were destroyed unify on a plea to civilized society? Where is the rational voice of sanity?

The new Mayor Johnson has declared it's open purge season for feral Chicago youth. After all, they have been suppressed and payback is due. Any Chicagoans with a lick of sense should be calling UHaul and renting trucks to move their belongings out of Cook County. Leave while you can. Conditions in Chicago will get worse this summer. Think of a 24x7 Purge condition.

The black victimhood shtick to justify violent crime in black-run cities has run its course. It’s always somebody else’s fault. There are plenty of hard-working black people living decent lives. But it’s clear that black lives don’t matter to a whole lot of blacks because of a deeply flawed urban culture. The; cartoon in today’s Lucianne says it all.
