PBS is the latest media company to say it’s getting off Twitter. The public broadcaster joined NPR in saying it is no longer interested in sharing its content on the platform, after owner Elon Musk slapped a “government-funded” label on its account, which carries more than 2 million followers. “PBS stopped tweeting from our account when we learned of the change and we have no plans to resume at this time,”a spokesman for the outlet told The Hill. “We are continuing to monitor the ever-changing situation closely.” NPR became one of the first major news outlets to say it was quitting Twitter on Wednesday, citing a public spat with Musk

Hmm. If PBS didn't take government funds, then it would not be 'government-funded,' right? What happened to all the money made from selling Sesame Street stuff and other program merchandise? It's time they earned their own keep.

From about 1980 to about 1996 I used to listen to NPR on my morning drive. And then some more when at work. In about 1996 my fellow employees were keeping me up to date about racial incidents taking place in their nearby town. The victims were white and the perps were black. I had all the low down. All of my fellow employees had taken their kids out of the high school. Almost all the whites were no longer coming to school because they were afraid and several had been beaten bad enough to require hospitalization. It had been going on for six months. Then one morning national NPR did a report on it. And they completely reversed the races. They said the white kids were wearing offensive T-shirts. Actually it was the blacks that were wearing Malcolm X T-shirts. They said white were beating up blacks. Everything they said was a lie.

'Many of those who supported the special operation yesterday are now in doubt, or categorically against what is happening' Yevgeny Prigozhin, chief of Russia’s notorious mercenary Wagner group, on Saturday urged President Vladimir Putin to stop the “special military operation,” as the Kremlin calls the war in Ukraine. In his op-ed about the current situation on the frontline posted on Telegram, Prigozhin, who lost thousands of militants in the battle of Bakhmut, suggested that Moscow should declare victory in the Ukraine war. “The ideal option is to announce the end of the SMO (special military operation), to inform everyone that Russia has achieved the results that it planned for,

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on Friday temporarily blocked lower court rulings that imposed tighter restrictions on the abortion pill mifepristone. U.S. Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk of the U.S. Northern District of Texas suspended the Food and Drug Administration's approval of mifepristone last week. The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked that part of Kacsmaryk's order and kept the FDA approval in place. But the appeals court temporarily re-imposed tighter restrictions on how mifepristone is used and distributed, which would make it more difficult for women to access the drug. Alito blocked those rulings restricting mifepristone access until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

American taxpayers are likely to subsidize billions of dollars in Affordable Care Act benefits for illegal aliens enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program under a plan by President Joe Biden. On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced a plan to open the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, and Medicaid rolls to hundreds of thousands of DACA illegal aliens. While DACA, created by former President Obama through executive action, has helped shield close to a million illegal aliens from deportation through the years, the Migration Policy Institute states that about 600,000 are currently enrolled in the program.

The worst security breach in many years occurred earlier this year, as top secret documents apparently taken from a high-level intelligence briefing were posted on a sort of group chat and went viral from there.
