Sometimes people notice a personality change after someone they know has had a concussion. Let's hope this knocked some sense into McConnell and he'll change for the better.

He suffered a concussion because he fell on his head while he was drunk. He needs to go to alcohol rehab and detox, then find a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. Right now he is in total denial he has a problem with alcohol. But he does.

I have my doubts about the "concussion" story. Mitch is following the exact same trajectory as my DH who had a stroke years ago - hospital for a few days, a few weeks in intensive rehab, then home for rest and home therapy. Recovery is pretty complete, but then my DH wasn't 81 years old. On the other hand, it is quite possible that the turtle drank too much with his cronies at the WA, fell, smacked his head and triggered a brain bleed. Whatever happened, I suspect we're only getting some of the story like with John Fetterman and Harry Reid before him.

Here is the big problem. In Mitch's universe, the Republican Conference is a real thing that he represents, separate and distinct from Kentuckians who elect him. He represents donors, wall streeters, wealthy individuals and donors whose interests diverge or even conflict with the interests if American individuals. Mitch, like the rest of the Senate, serves two masterss. Trump works for us. Mitch works for those who write checks. One is a puppet. The other is a president in exile.

A transgender activist group has called off its planned 'Trans Day of Vengeance Rally' after warnings of a 'credible threat to life and safety'. The rally was due to be held on Saturday in Washington D.C., but organizers of the Trans Radical Activist Network (TRAN) said Thursday that threats on social media have led them to make the decision to cancel the event. The demonstration would have been held outside the Supreme Court but 'astronomical amounts of hate from the world' forced them to cancel, TRAN said.

Donald Trump was 'initially shocked' by the grand jury indictment handed down against him last night but is now 'ready to fight' and be 'combative', one of his lawyers has revealed. Trump, 76, will be arraigned in Manhattan at 2.15pm on Tuesday on an array of business fraud charges relating to 2016 hush money payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. He has denied any wrongdoing, and says he is the victim of a politically-motivated witch hunt led by the famously Democratic Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
